LONDON, Ont. - Drew Cummings scored twice early to lead the Medway Cowboys to a 3-1 win over the Parkside Stampeders, capturing the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey championship, at City Wide Sports Park. Allie Tales cut the lead in half in the second half, but Olivia Thompson restored Medway's two goal lead. Medway advances to WOSSAA October 26. In the semifinals, Parkside blanked East Elgin, 1-0, while Medway branded Strathroy, 5-0. In the B final, Ingersoll doubled up on London Saunders, 4-2. In the semifinals, Saunders edged the Central Elgin Titans, 1-0, in penalty shots.

ST. THOMAS - Connor Ward and Logan Dore both had two touchdowns as the Parkside Stampeders defeated the London South Lions, 28-12, in Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) junior football under the lights at Parkside. Logan VandenDriessche kicked four extra points, as the Stampeders improve to 3-1. In senior action, South won 42-14. Ryan King and Merrick Rollins scored TDs and Mason Coombs booted both extra points. Andre Thompson with three, Chase Smith, two, and Kanye Nethersole, had TDs for South, with Owen Williams kicking the points after touchdown.

KITCHENER, Ont - Anna Muscat scored twice and Kenzie Clinton had one goal, as the Parkside Stampeders blanked Goderich, 3-0, in the final of a field hockey tournament, at Woodside fields. The win capped a 5-0 day. Georgia Hainen with three goals and Olivia Sutton and Kyra Phillips, once each, scored in the four games leading up to the final.

carded a 73, eighth best on day two, after a round of 75 on day one, to place
12th overall (148) in the boys golf open division at the Ambassador Golf Club.
Parkside C.I.'s Zander Battaglia (right photo) placed 36th in the high school division with rounds of 86 and 84 (170). Lucas Smith won the open division (65-71-136) and Ben Brazier, the high school division (70-76-146).
Jade Tep-Chhun finished 23rd at OFSAA girls golf at the Batteaux Creek Club in Collingwood, with a two day total of 160 (78-82). Emily McKee won the OFSAA title, defeating Shelby Harwick
in a playoff hole, after both finished at 144.

STRATHROY, Ont. - The St. Joe's Rams brought home their third junior girls team title of the cross country season, Thurdsday in Strathroy. Abi Faris led the Rams finishing second behind Sarah Jacquith, of London Lucas. Flourish Nmor placed seventh, followed by Alex Fangeat, 10th and Sadie Dowswell, 19th. The Rams' senior boys won their second team title, led by Fowler Little, in sixth place. Connor Crosby, was eighth, Lucas Skirtschak, 13th and Joel Jenson, 19th.
Rams' Diego Alban-Gasca finished third, in the para race.

Parkside Stampeders Audrey Ferguson finished sixth, in the senior girls race and Stampeders Andrew Monteith, 10th in senior boys. Brody Mann had the best result for the Central Elgin Titans, placing 12th in senior boys, while Eve Buczkowski, was 16th in junior girls. Glencoe's Ollie Hamilton was 10th in novice boys.
UNION, Ont. - Jack Zylstra is returning to OFSAA. The St. Joseph's Ram won the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) boys' golf title, shooting a 75 over 18 holes Thursday at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.
A year ago, Zylstra won the OFSAA high school division. This year Zylstra heads to the provincial championship in the open division. Parkside Stampeders Zander Battaglia qualified for OFSAA, placing third with a round of 77, tied with Strathroy's Keagan Hackney. Parkside's Dawson Broadhead
finished tied for seventh (80).

UNION, Ont. - Jack Zylstra is the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) boys' golf champion. The St. Joseph's Ram carded a 18-hole round of 73, to lead the field of 60 players, at the TVRA championship today at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. Parkside Stampeders Zander Battaglia, was fourth with a round of 77. Battaglia and teammates Dawson Broadhead, Cohen Kelly and Austin Vaughan, placed third.

LONDON, Ont. - Jade Tep-Chhun is the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) girls' golf silver medalist. The St. Joseph's Ram carded a 18-hole round of 79, in A flight at the TVRA championships, at Thames Valley Golf Club. Celina Yeo, of London Aquinas, won the tournament with a 73, leading her school to the A flight team title. The Central Elgin Titans team of Janay Gillard, Sloane Maudsley and sisters Becca and Sandra Nurton, took the B flight (nine holes) team title.

OTTAWA, Ont. - Kirk Hallman continues to lower his school record and now on the provincial stage. Hallman advanced to the novice men's 1500 metre final, with the second fastest qualifying time of 4:16.83, on day of OFSAA track and field, at the Terry Fox Athletic Complex. The East Elgin Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team of Henry Scott, Khanan Hernandez, Joey Yaw and Morgan Siemans, advanced to the final. The foursome had the fourth fastest qualifying time.
Parkside Stampeders Alyssa Gordon placed 15th in senior women's high jump (1.50 metres).
The three day meet continues until Saturday.

ST. THOMAS - Ryan King had an inside the park grand slam and Max Thivierge hit a two run shot over the fence, leading the Parkside Stampeders to a 8-1 win over East Elgin, in a TVRA tier two baseball semifinal. Parkside faces Woodstock Collegiate, in the Tier two final, Wednesday at Emslie Field.

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. - Evan Stevens, Libby McCurdy, Taylor Kana and Henry Scott are heading to OFSAA as regional winners. The quartet of athletes won their respective events on day two of OFSAA West regional track and field Saturday at Jacob Hespeler Secondary school in Cambridge. Stevens set a Dorchester Beavers' school record, breaking 50 metres for his first time, winning junior men's javelin with a throw of 52.29 metres. East Elgin Eagles Kana won junior women's javelin by over four metres with a personal best (PB) throw of 42.74 metres. McCurdy, of St. Joe's high school, who almost bowed out at 2.95 metres, won clearing 3.15 metres in junior women's pole vault. Scott capped his incredible two day meet off by winning the novice men's 200-metre dash in 24.02 seconds. The East Elgin Eagle also finished second in the 100 dash, sixth in long jump and led the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team to second place. The top four in each event advance to OFSAA, high school provincial championships, June 8-10 at the Terry Fox Complex in Ottawa.

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. - Nabeel Haliru finally accomplished a goal he's had in mind since Grade nine. The Dorchester Beavers athlete is heading to OFSAA, the high school provincial championships in track and field, winning senior men's high jump, Friday at OFSAA West regional track and field at Jacob Hespeler Secondary school in Cambridge. Four athletes including Haliru made 1.88 metres, his personal best (PB), but all missed attempting 1.91 metres. Haliru took top spot with the fewest misses at previous heights. He had just one, at his opening height. East Elgin Eagles Henry Scott won silver in the novice men's 100-metre dash, finishing in 11.71 seconds, behind London Central's Nagil Asamoah's winning time of 11.69 seconds. In the evening, Scott lifted the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team from a battle between fourth and fifth, to a silver medal, with teammates Joey Yaw, Khanan Hernandez and Morgan Siemens. The top four in each event, advance to OFSAA, June 8-10 at the Terry Fox Complex in Ottawa.

LONDON, Ont. - Henry Scott is consistent. The East Elgin Eagle consistently finishes behind a record setting performance. In each of Scott's three individual events, the novice men's 100 and 200 metre sprints and long jump, a meet record was either broken or tied, on day two of Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) track and field Friday at Western University. Scott finished second (11.38 sec.) to London Central's Nagil Asamoah's record time of 11.25 seconds in the 100 and second (23.56 sec.) to Banting's Khaleel Miller's 200 metre time of 23.42 seconds. Scott placed third in the long jump (5.64 metres), behind Asamoah, who tied the meet record (6.17m) Scott anchored the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team to fourth place.
East Elgin Eagles Taylor Kana set a meet record in junior women's javelin with a throw of 39.40 metres a few metres shorter than her personal best of 41.07. Teammate Darah Farrow placed third, increasing her PB three times to 29.69 metres.
The Dorchester Beavers placed third in the overall boys standings and won the junior men's team title.
Fernando Medina led the junior team, winning 3000 metre run, with teammate Ryan Johnson finishing second. Dorchester Mya Steller won the junior women's 300-metre hurdles and finished fourth in the 200-metre dash. Teammate Devan Lucas won the junior boys 300 hurdles in a three second personal best time of 43.34 seconds.
The top five in each event at WOSSAA advance to the OFSAA West regional, June 2-3, at Hespeler secondary school in Cambridge.

LONDON, Ont. - Dorchester Beavers Tegan Ceccanese and Andrew Urquhart, St. Joe's Rams Libby McCurdy and Parkside Stampeders Alyssa Gordon are golden. Each athlete won events on day one of WOSSAA track and field Thursday at Western University. Ceccanese won the open women's 2000-metre steeplechase, winning the event by 10 seconds in seven minutes and 44.39 seconds. Gordon shared gold with St. Andre Bessette's Raquel Scratch, in senior women's high jump, both clearing 1.51 metres.
McCurdy won junior women's pole vault, clearing 3.15 metres.
Urquhart took gold in novice boys shot put with a best throw of 13.05 metres. East Elgin Eagles Henry Scott finished second in the novice men's 100-metre dash (11.36 seconds), third in long jump (5.64m) and helped the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team to fourth place.
St. Joe's Noah Pollnow placed second in senior men's discus (36.60m). Rams' Mara Kemmerling was second in the junior women's 80-metre hurdles (12.90 sec.).
Dorchester's Ryan Johnson and Fernando Medina finished two-three in the junior men's 1500 metre run.

LONDON, Ont. - Seven records fell at this year's Thames Valley Regional Athletics Association (TVRAA) track and field championships. East Elgin Eagles Taylor Kana and St. Joseph's Libby McCurdy are among the seven athletes that set new marks at the meet May 17-18 at Western University. Kana won junior girls javelin by over 15 metres, breaking a 39-year old record held by former East Elgin Eagle Karen Perry, with a throw of 41.07 metres. McCurdy cleared three metres in junior women's pole vault, raising the Tri-County record from 2.72 metres, previously held by WCI's Katy McGoffin since 2015.

THOMAS - Lily Ryder had the game's only goal as the Parkside Stampeders blanked St. Joseph's Rams, 1-0, in Thames Valley Regional Athletics Association (TVRAA) girls soccer Tuesday under the lights at Parkside C.I. Parkside keeper Roslyn Boundy had the shutout. Boundy and Rams' goalie Jessye Rady, both made a couple five star saves. The Stampeders improve to 4-0 in league regular season action, while the Rams are 3-1. Since Parkside is the only AAA school in the South-East, a spot at WOSSAA AAA awaits them, at the Packham Road Sports Complex, June 1 in Stratford.

GLANWORTH, Ont. - Shortstop Lexie Sawyer hit five home runs, including one over the fence, as the Parkside Stampeders won the RMC girls slo-pitch tournament with a 5-0 record. Sawyer and second baseman Daniella Herr turned two doubles plays.
Cadence Gonyou had a pair of homers for Parkside. Parkside host WOSSAA girls slo-pitch, at the Tarry Complex in St. Thomas May 31.
Twenty minutes north at Laurier secondary school in London, the Stampeders' boys rugby team defeated their host, 20-7. Trent Norman scored three tries and Tyler Dale had one five-point try.

Both Parkside and St. Joe's girls' teams went 2-1, in their tournament May 9, while the Stampeders' boys were 1-2 on May 10.

WINDSOR, Ont. - Merrick Rollins won junior boys discus, with a throw of 47.34 metres at the Lancer Prep track and field meet, Saturday at the University of Windsor. The Parkside Stampeder also placed fifth in shot out (12.93m). Rollins led a Parkside team that had 10 top five results. Aiden Ward placed second in both the novice boys 200-metre dash (24.94 seconds) and long jump (5.72m). Olivia Sutton finished second in the junior girls 800-metre run (2:38.32) and fifth in the 400 metre dash (1:06.72). Alexis Gray was third in the 400 (1:04.97) and eighth in the 200 metre dash (29.52 seconds). Alyssa Gordon was fifth, in senior girls high jump (1.40m), while Nathan Alden was fifth in junior boys long jump (5.15m).

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - Lily Ryder scored in overtime lifting the Parkside Stampeders to a 3-2 win over the Dorchester Beavers, in the girls final, at the Gemini Cup. Dorchester led 2-1 at half, on goals by Lexi Wylie and Cali Beattie.
Paton Lessard scored twice in regulation time for Parkside. "I was really impressed with our ball movement," said Ryder, Parkside captain. "We kept our intensity up throughout the whole tournament even though we were exhausted."
The Stampeders blanked Ingersoll, 4-0 and St. Joe's, 2-0, with Grayson Moore in net. Bella Nolte had two goals in both Dorchester's 6-0 win over Woodstock C.I and 4-0 shutout of Simcoe. Shaelyn Linton and Megan McLaughin, both had two goals, while Wylie and Julia Ritchie, one each.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Joseph's Rams and Parkside Stampeders split finals at the Elgin Cup soccer tournament. The Rams won the boys title, blanking Parkside, 3-0, in the final Friday at 1Password Park. Dawson Berrisford with two goals and Henry Kemmerling scored, while goalie Trent Clinton had the shutout. St. Joes finished 4-0, also silencing the East Elgin Eagles, 2-0 and Central Elgin Titans, 8-0 and taking the first meeting with Parkside, 3-1. The Stampeders were the dominate girls team, going 4-0, concluding with a 3-1 win against the Rams in the final Thursday. Lily Ryder with two goals and Annie Renaud scored for the Stamps.

The Titans capture the Thames Valley Regional Athletics conference team title, by winning boys doubles and mixed doubles, finishing second in ladies singles and third in boys singles, April 20, at Parkside Collegiate. Top four in each of the five disciplines advance to WOSSAA, May 4 in London.

OTTAWA, Ont. - Clark Jackson and Tyler Dale are OFSAA wrestling champions. The pair were among six local wrestlers in medal contention on day two of the OFSAA wrestling championships this afternoon at TD Place. Dale, with the Parkside Stampeders, dominated the boys' 67.5-kilogram gold medal match, blitzing Dylan De Jesus, of Bill Crothers Secondary, 10-0. Clark Jackson, with the Central Elgin Titans, defeated a familiar foe, Attila Adamko, of Medway High, 8-2, in the boys' 89-kilogram gold match.
Helen King, of St, Joseph's High, lost the girls' 72-kilogram gold match to Lauren Smith, of St. Theresa's.
Titans Ivey Ludwig, 67.5-kg and Kendelle Scott, both lost their respective bronze medal matches. Owen Dale placed sixth, in the boys' 64-kilogram division.

WINDSOR, Ont. - Rosie McCaw is an OFSAA champion. The Grade 10 athlete with the Parkide Stampeders won the junior women's 100-metre individual medley (I.M.) at OFSAA, the high school provincial championships this afternoon, at the International Aquatic and Training Centre. McCaw finished in one minute and 18.69 seconds (1:18.69), shaving almost second of her prelim time of 1:19.61. McCaw just missed a medal placing fourth, in the junior girls' 50-metre backstroke, in a personal best time of 35.35 seconds.
Emma Beggs, of the East Elgin Eagles, won a bronze medal in the open women's 200-metre I.M. and placed seventh, in the 100-metre breaststroke (1:15.86). Beggs, with Eagles teammates Valaurie Carson and Brooke and Ainsley Preszcator, finished 10th, in the girls 200-metre medley race A final. Alexis Gray, of the Parkside Stampeders, was sixth in the junior girl's 50 metre back and 12th in the 50-metre freestyle.

LONDON, Ont. - The Parkside Stampeders girls volleyball teams brought home silver and bronze medals Friday from WOSSAA triple-A volleyball. The junior Stampeders lost in their final to tournament host the Mother Teresa Spartans, after defeating London Lucas, three games to none, in the semifinals. In senior action, the Stampeders defeated Stratford secondary school in the bronze medal match, at Aquinas secondary school. London Banting got by Parkside in the semifinals, before dousing the Aquinas Flames in the final, for the WOSSAA senior title and a berth at OFSAA.

LONDON, Ont. - Elgin County wrestlers shined at the WOSSAA wrestling championships. Seventeen athletes from four schools are heading to OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, March 7-8 in Ottawa. Parkside Stampeders Tyler Dale and Julie Boyko were voted WOSSAA male and female MVPs. Dale won gold in the boys' 67.5-kilogram class while Boyko is the girls' 64-kg champion. The pair lead a Stampeders' team of six to OFSAA, with Ryan Nash, Owen Dale, Aba Coombs and Gabe Forsyth. The Central Elgin Titans send six athletes as well, gold medalists Ivey Ludwig, Clark Jackson, Hailey Basacco and Jack Weisz, along with Kailey Beauchamp and Kendelle Scott. Hannah King, Cecilija Meglic, Alex DiCristiforo and Helen King, lead the St. Joseph's Rams. Gold medalist Makayla Rice represents the East Elgin Eagles. Parkside finished third in the combined team standings, behind champion London Banting and London Saunders. The Stampeders' boys placed third. The Titans' girls team were second behind London Banting.

LONDON, Ont. - Ivey Ludwig has come a long way in one season. In her first year of wrestling, the Grade 12 student with the Central Elgin Titans, is the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Charrette conference most outstanding female wrestler, today at Saunders secondary school. Ludwig went 4-0, pinning three of her opponents, on her way to the gold medal in the girls' 67.5 kilogram division. Led by champions Julie Boyko (64-kg) and Mandy Penner (47.5-kg), the Parkside Stampeders won the overall girls team title. Stampeders Tyler Dale (67.5kg), Nolan Hicks, Jeremy Anderson (61-kg) and Ryan Nash (51-kg), won their respective divisions. The Parkside boys' team placed third. Ludwig and Kendelle Scott, the girls' 83 kilogram champ, led the lady Titans team to second place. St. Joseph's Rams Helen King won the girls' 72-kg division defeating Central Elgin Titans Hailey Basacco. Titans Jack Weisz won the boys' 83-kg class. East Elgin Eagles Makayla Rice claimed the girls' 95-kg title The top five in each division move on the WOSSAA championships, this Friday, at Banting high school, in London. The top two in each division at WOSSAA qualify for OFSAA, March 7-8, in Ottawa.

LONDON, Ont. - Emma Beggs is returning to OFSAA while Siena Begeman makes her debut. Both athletes won each two individual races at the WOSSAA swimming championships Feb 15 at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, automatically qualifying for the high school provincial championships, Feb 29 - March 1 in Windsor. Beggs took gold in the open girls' 100-metre breaststroke (1:15.61) and 200-metre I.M. (2:37.81) and helped the East Elgin Eagles' 200-metre medley (2:13.91) and 400-metre freestyle (4:40.17) relay teams win gold. Begeman finished first in the open girls' 100 (1:05.88) and 200-metre (2:24.18) free races, repeating the feat the Grade 10 Parkside Stampeder achieved at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics meet one week earlier. All race winners at WOSSAA automatically qualify for OFSAA. On Wednesday, February 22nd, OFSAA will announce the remainder of the 50 qualifiers for each event from across the province.

LONDON, Ont. - Emma Beggs left the pool at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) swimming championships with four medals. Beggs won the open women's 100-metre I.M. and 100-metre breaststroke, finished second in the 100-metre back and guided the East Elgin Eagles' open women's 200-metre medley relay team to gold, during the meet, February 8-9, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Siena Begeman, Parkside Stampeders, won the open women's 100 and 200-metre freestyle races and placed fourth, in the 50-free. Stampeders' Alexis Gray was as good as one-two-three, winning the high school division 14 years and under 50-free, second in the 100-free and third, in the 50-back.

LONDON, Ont. - East Elgin Eagles Jaimie Staulbaum and Ellery Beilhartz, Grayson Moore, of the Parkside Stampeders and Maddie Johnston, of the St. Joseph's Rams, are Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) senior girls basketball all-stars. The four players from Elgin County played in the TVRA all-star game Monday, at Laurier secondary school. ST. THOMAS - Wrestlers from 16 schools were back on the mats at the Parkside Wrestling tournament, today at the high school. For many athletes it was their first matches since 2019, after the COVID pandemic wiped out much of the past two seasons. The host school had seven individual division champions, led senior Julie Boyko and the Dale brothers, Tyler and Owen. St. Joe's had Helen King, Diago Silva and Alex DiCristofero, win gold. Clark Jackson and Bryson Ferguson were division champs for the Central Elgin Titans. Fisher Ward led a team of five East Elgin Eagles, taking home silver.

STRATFORD, Ont. - The Parkside Stampeders brought home a bronze medal from the WOSSAA AAA junior girls basketball tournament. Parkside defeated Stratford District, 55-19,in the bronze medal game, Wednesday, at Stratford District school.
Jade Lawrence led the Stampeders with 16 points, while Payton Fleming had 11 and Lucy Doan, 10 Earlier in the day, the Medway Cowboys used a trio of three-pointers to beat Parkside, 48-38, in the semifinals. Sarah Pfeffer had 12 points for Parkside and Lucy Doan, 10. London Mother Teresa won junior gold, downing Medway, 57-30, in the final.
Mother Teresa also won senior gold, edging London Laurier, in the final.

ST. THOMAS - The Parkside Stampeders needed a few more offensive plays. The Lucas Vikings snuck off with a 15-6 win, against Parkside, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRA) junior football semifinals, at Parkside C.I., Thursday.
Scoreless at half-time, Merrick Rollins gave the host Stampeders, a 6-0 lead, on a 46-yard touchdown run, mid third quarter. Lucas took a 7-6 lead, hitting their point after TD convert, late third quarter. Then the Vikings extended their advantage to 14-6, on the opening play of the fourth quarter. LONDON, Ont. - Four Lord Dorchester Beavers and two St. Joseph's Rams' teams are heading to OFSAA cross-country. Tegan Ceccaese is returning to the high school provincial cross country championships, after placing fifth, in the senior girls race at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) meet, at Springbank Park.. The top two teams from each division and the top five individual runners, not with those top two teams, qualify for OFSAA, November 5, at Dagmar Ski Resort, near Uxbridge.

STRATHROY, Ont. - Beavers and Rams dominated the trails. The Lord Dorchester Beavers and St. Joseph's Rams, are the overall boys and girls team champions, at Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County cross country championships, at the Gemini Sports Park. In rainy, windy and very cool conditions, runners strived to qualify for the WOSSAA championships, next Thursday, at Springbank Park, in London. Noah Derganc, from the Parkside Stampeders, won the senior boys race, edging Dorchester's Jeremy Hardeman. The top 20 runners from each race and the top three teams in each division, advance to WOSSAA.

ST. THOMAS - Merrick Rollins and the Parkside Stampeders keep rolling. The running back scored five touchdowns, bringing his season total to 13, as the Stampeders galloped over the South Lions, 33-17, in Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) junior football, under the lights, at Parkside CI. Cole Surmacz and Connor Ward, with a superb catch, also had TDs for the home side. Rollins also kicked three point after touchdowns. South led 7-0 early, but Parkside responded 75 seconds later, tying the game, on Rollins' first rumble in to the end zone.

LONDON, Ont. - Both of the St. Joe's Rams junior boys and novice girls won their second team title, at the Bronco Invitational cross country meet, Thursday, at Springbank Park. The junior boys had four in the top 15, with Lucas Skirtschak, finishing eighth, Ty Emre, ninth, Fowler Little, 13th and Noah Baker, 14th. St. Joe's edged London Bessette, who had the top two runners, by six points, in the team standings. The novice girls handily won their division, led by Alex Fangeat, finishing 11th. Sadie Dowsell, Flourish Nmor and Clara Lascelles, round out the Rams' top four.
Dorchester Beavers had four top 10 individual results. Ryan Johnson and Fernando Medina, finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in junior boys. Tegan Ceccanese was fifth, in senior girls and Megan McLachlin, ninth, in novice girls. The Beavers' senior boys were third as a team and the junior boys, fourth.
Parkside Stampeders' Andrew Monteith and Noah Derganc, finished fourth and eighth, respectively, in the senior boys' race.

LONDON, Ont. - An interception with 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, preserved a Parkside Stampeders' 16-9 win over the Saunders Sabres, in TVRA senior football. Spencer Annett picked off a Sabres' third down pass at the Stampeders' own five yard line. Parkside then took two knees to run out the clock, for their first win of the season. Ryan Hind had two rushing TDs and Ryan King caught a two-point conversion thrown by Riley Therrian. Gabe Stiles booted a point after TD and picked up a single on a missed field goal attempt.
In junior action, Merrick Rollins ran in two TDs and two converts, as Parkside improved to 2-0, defeating Saunders, 26-16. Connor Ward and Cole Surmacz, each had a TD, while Alex Medeiros made three interceptions.

TORONTO, Ont. - Four local athletes stood on the podium, on day two of the OFSAA track and field championships, at York University. St. Joseph's Rams Aiden Coles, in the senior men's 1500-metres and Libby McCurdy, in novice women's pole vault (2.65 metres), both won silver medals, while Tristan Coles took bronze, in the senior men's 1500 metres. LONDON, Ont. - The Parkside Stampeders senior boys are team champions. Led by double gold medal winning runners, Mason Basson and Ethan Dolby, the Stampeders took home the team title, on day two of the WOSSAA track and field championships, today, at Western University. However the team of Basson, Dolby, middle distance runner Vincent Moore, steeplechasers Justin Cole and Zachary Roberts-Neef and thrower Alistair Maciver, didn't get to celebrate as a group at the meet. A miscount gave London Oakridge the award, until the error was later realized. Basson won the 800-metre run today (1:58.53), to add to his 400 gold Thursday, while Dolby is the king of both the 100 and 200 metre (23.73 sec.) sprints. Merrick Rollins completed a sweep of the novice men's throwing events, by winning discus (41.77m).

LONDON, Ont. - It was a tough outing for the Parkside Stampeders' boys soccer team. The Bessette Bulldogs silenced the Stampeders, 7-0, in Thames Valley Regional Association (TVRA) Central Division AAA semifinal, at the North London Fields.
In girls' action, Maddy Dredge scored four times to carry the Medway Cowboys over Parkside, 6-1, in the girls' semifinals. Lily Ryder had the Stampeders' lone goal.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - Three shutouts in four games carried the Dorchester Beavers to the girls division title at the Gemini Cup, at the Tillsonburg Minor Soccer Park. Julia Ritchie, Maddy Benjamin and Annika Nolte scored in a 3-1 win over London Lucas, in the final.
The Beavers silenced London South, 6-0, the Parkside Stampeders, 3-0 and Tillsonburg Glendale, 4-0. Parkside defeated St. Joe's, in the girls' third place game. In the boys' final, Ingersoll beat St. Joe's.

LONDON, Ont. - Dylen Belanger, of the St. Joe's Rams, won the senior boys' 110-metre hurdles, in 15.19 seconds and the 400-metre run, in 52.64 seconds, at the Forest City Mustang Invitational Wednesday.
The track and field meet at Western University is the first one for high school since 2019. Seven additional athletes from Elgin County and Dorchester won events.

LONDON, Ont. - Back in February, Luka Palajsa had never held a badminton racket and the only birds he knew were the ones chirping from the trees. Three months later, Palajsa was one step away from a medal, at the WOSSAA junior badminton championships, at Saunders Secondary School. The Lord Dorchester student finished fourth in boys' singles. His two losses were to the silver and bronze medal winners.

WOODSTOCK, Ont. - Luka Palajsa made quick work of the opposition in boys' singles, while mixed doubles' pair of Avery Henshal and Caleb Steyaert played as long as they could. The end result was the same, with Palajsa and Henshal and Steyaert taking gold, in their respective disciplines. LONDON, Ont. - A late goal in the second half, lifted the CCH Crusaders over the Parkside Stampeders, 2-1, in TVRA boys soccer, Friday at Tricar Field. Brady Lidster scored for Parkside, while Samir Rui and Fuisal Alhamuwali had the CCH goals, in both team's opener to the league season. A week earlier, Parkside won the Elgin Cup, defeating St. Joe's in the final, at a tournament that also featured Central Elgin and East Elgin.

ST. THOMAS - Selecia Wall and Ella Cattrysse have been best friends since early in their elementary school days. No surprise the self described "partners in crime since kindergarten" are a force in girls' doubles with the East Elgin Eagles.
Wall and Cattrysse handily won the girls' doubles title, going 4-0 without dropping a game, at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) South-East Division senior badminton championships, at Parkside C.I.
Dorchester Beavers' Samantha Heng and Evan Boldt took longer routes than Wall and Cattysse, but both left with gold medals as well. Their first place finishes carried Dorchester to the team title.

ST. THOMAS - Mathias poured in a game high 18 points to lead the Laurier Rams to a 74-49 win, against the Parkside Stampeders, in Thames Valley Regional Association senior boys basketball, at Parkside Collegiate.

In junior action, Laurier defeated the Stampeders, 51-44, with Kaymani Harris having a game best 22 points for Laurier. Geremay DeShutter dumped in 15 points and Clark Sandham, 14 points, for the Stampeders.

LONDON, Ont. - Shayla Congdon scored twice as the Parkside Stampeders won a high scoring game, 7-6, over the Saunders Sabres, in TVRA girls' hockey, at Bostwick arena.
Madelyn Pinnegar, Anna Muscat, Hayley Umansky, Olivia Sutton and Kyra Phillips, also scored for the Stampeders, who improve to 2-1-1.
The game was called with 10 minutes remaining in the third period, due to an injury to a Saunders player.

ST. THOMAS - Ethan Dolby has been named a 2021/22 ONHSFB (Ontario High School Football) All-Ontario first team at running back. The Grade 12 student at Parkside Collegiate was a running back and punt returner for the Stampeder senior football team.
"It is quite the honour being named an All-Ontario First Team running back," Dolby said. "It feels great to have my hard work recognized. This motivates me even more to continue to put in the hard work to become a better student athlete."

ST. THOMAS - There is a high school that could have eight graduates playing football next season at the university level. The Parkside Stampeders
recently had three students commit to schools in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA).
Five former Stampeders are already on the OUA gridiron, Zach Copeland, with the Ottawa GeeGees, Ryan Long, Laurier Golden Hawks, Rudy Bukich and Connor Holburn, Windsor Lancers, and Craig Coleman, who won the 2021 Vanier Cup with the Western Mustangs. There is plenty Stampeder blue spread throughout the OUA and now Brady Lidster, Daniel Kieta and Carter Frayne, will start their university careers this September.

ST. THOMAS - When Sadie Waite was 12 years old she received a call-up to a team two years older. Facing opponents nearly a foot taller, Waite never looked out of place on the field.
That experience ignited the competitive spirit in the young midfielder.
Six years later, Waite has signed to continue her soccer career and post
secondary education on a full scholarship with the University of Nebraska

ST. THOMAS - The Penner sisters led a Parkside Stampeders' return to the wrestling mats. Lillie and Mandy were among six Parkside wrestlers to win gold at the Jay Cooke Memorial meet, Saturday at Parkside CI.
Lillie Penner won the female 62.5-kilogram (kg) division with a 4-0 record, but had to defeat teammate Zoey Astley-Duncan in the final.
The Central Elgin Titans Iman Zebian won all three matches in the female
67.4-kilogram division.

ST. THOMAS - Parkside Stampeders used their defence and a second quarter surge to become champions. The Stampeders over came a 10 point deficit in the first quarter, coming back to defeat the Medway Cowboys, 51-39, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics Central Division tier one junior girls' basketball final at Parkside Collegiate. Medway led 13-3 before the Stampeders kicked it up with a 22 point second quarter for a 25-20 lead at half-time.

Emma Giesbrecht scored 13 points, while Taylor Pettit and Annie Renaud both dropped in 10, as the Stampeders galloped over the Laurier Rams, 59-21, in a semifinal, today at Parkside. The Stampeders jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back, building a 34-11 advantage by half time.
Parkside will host the final Wednesday, against the Medway Cowboys, who branded the Lucas Vikings, with a 52-45 loss.

Brothers Tristan and Aiden Coles led the Rams, finishing tied for first in the senior boys' race, while fellow Ram Jayden McMullen, won the junior boys' race.
Dorchester's Hannah McIntyre took the senior girls' individual gold medal.
East Elgin Eagle Adrianna Borm was the junior girls' champion.

LONDON, Ont. - Quarterback Brady Lidster threw four touchdown passes, two to Keegan Spiering, as the Parkside Stampeders bucked the Banting Broncos, 34-7 in Thames Valley Regional senior football, at Banting high school.
The Stampeder defence held Banting to just three first downs for the entire game, forced two fumbles and blocked a punt. Max Thiveirge had the blocked punt and recovered a fumble. Lidster recovered a fumble of the ball stripped by Spiering. On offence, Spiering had a 20 yard catch and run and 25 yard TD reception. Ethan Dolby ripped off a 25 yard TD run, Noah Asher made a diving catch for a TD and Christian Petzke had a 12-yard TD reception.
Lidster also kicked four point after touchdowns.

ORWELL, Ont. - Muddy and slick conditions welcomed runners to the Springwater Invitational cross country meet but the rain stopped prior to the first race. Schools from across the Thames Valley region converged on Springwater Conservation Area for the annual meet that was cancelled a year ago. The St. Joseph's Rams won both the junior and novice boys team titles. Jayden McMullen led the Rams in the junior race finishing third. Rams' Noah Bakker and Fowler Little were third and fourth, in the novice race.

LONDON, Ont. - The Medway Cowboys not only ran the table they kept it clean. Sid Arts scored the lone goal as the Cowboys blanked the Parkside Stampeders, 1-0, in the game featuring the two top teams from the round robin, at Thames Valley Region Athletics field hockey, at City Wide Sport Park. Medway never allowed a goal going 8-0 over the seven team two-day tournament.
Parkside finished with a record of 5-2-1. The East Elgin Eagles were 3-2-1 in the round robin. In the consolation final, the Central Elgin Titans fell 2-0 to the Strathroy Saints.

Seven teams, including the Parkside Stampeders, Central Elgin Titans, West Elgin Wildcats and East Elgin Eagles, played four games each, on day one of a two day round robin tournament for the Thames Vally Regional Athletics (TVRA).
The round robin continues Tuesday, October 13, followed by championship and consolation semifinals and finals.

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON. - For a second consecutive year, Gavin Eldridge is an OFSAA silver medalist in wrestling. The Parkside Stampeder was undefeated until the 61-kilogram boys' gold medal match against Nathan Hunyady, of Guelph John F. Ross.

LONDON, ON. - Julie Boyko was Houdini-like to escape a near pin, Gavin Eldridge kept quick on his feet and Brady Johnson seized an opportunity. Boyko (64-kg), Eldridge (61-kg), Johnson (130-kg) are returning to OFSAA, after qualifying at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) wrestling championships, at Banting Secondary School. Nine athletes will represent Parkside at OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, March 2-4, in Sault Ste. Marie.
Joining the trio of OFSAA returnees for the trip north, are gold medalist Jeremy Anderson (boys' 44-kg), silver medalists Cole Moore (boys' 89-kg), Cadence Hardwick (girls' 44-kg), Emma Penner (girls' 77-kg) and Kira Buck (third, girls' 83-kg) and Melody Wilton (115-kg). Parkside brought home the WOSSAA overall combined team title. The Lady Stampeders
were team champions, while the boys were second behind London Saunders.
The St. Joseph's Rams send five athletes to OFSAA, silver medalists Emma Lee (girls' 57.5-kg), Krystian Krzyzewski (boys' 85-kg) and Ryder Dennison (boys' 44-kg), Claire Vankoughnett (third, 44-kg) and Liv Cracchoilo (third, girls' 115-kg).
The Central Elgin Titans will be represented by gold medalist Iman Zebian (girls' 67.5-kg) and Nefi Islami (third, boys' 44-kg).

LONDON, ON. - Alyssa Voros made a good choice returning to the pool.
The East Elgin Eagle is heading to the OFSAA swimming championships in three events, including the High School Division 15 years and over 100-metre back, an event Voros won at Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) swimming.
East Elgin dominated in pool at WOSSAA, not only sending 15 swimmers to OFSAA
championships, but capturing the team award at the championships, held at the
Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Parkside Stampeder Briar McCaw qualified in each of her three races
for OFSAA, the High School division 15 years and over girls' 100 I.M. (1:18.79), 50 fly (33.67 sec.) and 100 back (1:18.75).

LONDON, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders continue to dominate the mats.
The Stampeders captured the overall team title at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Michienzi Conference wrestling championships, at Saunders Secondary School. This comes on the heels of winning the TVRA Dual Meet title during the regular season.
Led by Julie Boyko, the female wrestler of the meet, Parkside handily won the female team title.
Gold medalists Brady Johnson and Gavin Eldridge, guided the Stampeders' men to second overall behind Saunders.

ST. THOMAS - For the second consecutive year the Parkside Stampeders rule the local wrestling mat. The Stampeders kept the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) Dual Meet title, at their school with a come from behind team effort. Wrestling's regular season are several meets held at various schools. The title meet featured PCI in matches against CCH and Saunders.

LONDON, ON. - When it came to down to the final two minutes of the fourth quarter, it was the Saunders Sabres hitting the clutch shots. Tied at 32 with 1:45 remaining in the TVRA Central AAA junior girls' basketball final, the Sabres closed out the game on a 8-1 run, to take the banner with a 40-33 victory, at Fanshawe College.

SUDBURY, ON. - The St. Joseph's Rams are on top of the provincial cross country mountain. Rams' Aiden Coles, Tristan Coles, Brent Haggerty, Aiden Holder and Harrison Belanger, captured the junior boys' team title, at the OFSAA cross country championships, here at Kivi Park. Not only was St. Joe's the only school to score under 100 points, the Rams won by 57 points over second place St. Francis Xavier, from Mississauga. It's the first OFSAA gold in cross country for the school. Aiden Coles finished eighth in the race with 256 runners.

LONDON, ON. - Two teams and four individuals will represent St. Thomas - Elgin County and Dorchester at the OFSAA cross country championships.
The Dorchester Beavers' novice girls won the team title, held at the WOSSAA championships, at Fanshawe Golf Club. Hannah McIntyre led the way finishing fourth, Jenna Wideman was 14th, Devin Dance, 20th, and Tegan Ceccanese, 23rd.
The St. Joseph's Rams ran away with the junior boys title, placing five runners in the top 10. Aiden Coles was second, followed by Tristan Coles, third, Brent Haggerty, fourth, Harrison Belanger, eighth and Aiden Holder, ninth.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen was fourth in the senior girls' race and Ram Cerena Aitken-Guignard placed second in the junior girls' race. Parkside Stampeders' Mason Basson and Vincent Moore, were fifth and 11th, respectively, in the junior boys' race. Ram Will Mantel placed seventh in the novice boys' race, grabbing fifth individual spot to qualify for OFSAA. Former Mitchell Hepburn Mustang, now attending London Oakridge, Sydney Murdock, finished third, in the novice girls' race.
The top two teams and top five individuals not on those two teams, advance to OFSAA, November 2, in Sudbury.

LONDON, ON. - One may call it a six pack or sixer. In bowling it sometimes refers to throwing six consecutive strikes.
For the Parkside Stampeders’ field hockey team, it could be for winning a Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) title for a sixth consecutive season and advancing to the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association final. The Stampeders repeated as TVRA champions for a fourth consecutive year, blanking the Medway Cowboys, 1-0, in the final, at City Wide Fields.
It’s the third time in four years Parkside has defeated Medway in the final and second time by a 1-0 count.

DORCHESTER, ON. - Sarah Gallagher missed qualifying for OFSAA girls' golf during her Grade nine year at F.J. Hayden Secondary School, in Burlington. A year later Gallagher made up for it, firing off her career best round helping the 15-year capture the OFSAA open division championship, today at Pine Knot Golf and Country Club. Gallagher, four under for both days combined, won by five strokes (65-73-138), over silver medalist Alexis McMurray (69-74-143), out of Oakville Iroquois Ridge.
It was a sweep of the medals, by Greater Horseshoe Athletic Conference (GHAC) golfers, with Nicole Gal, from Oakville Holy Trinity finishing third (70-74-144). Julia Alexander-Carew, another golfer from the GHAC, won the high school division, by five strokes (74-82-156), over Grace Holijak, of Barrie Eastview (83-78-161). Mikayla Bourgeois, from Mississauga St. Marcellinus, placed third (83-80-163), winning in a playoff hole over Woodstock C.I.'s Madeline Choi (85-78-163).

UNION, ON. - John Orlebar defended his Thames Valley Region Athletics Tri-County boys' golf title. With his low individual score of 78, Orlebar led the East Elgin Eagles to the team title, with Landon Underhill and Ryan Smith. The Eagles' combined score of 264
was six shots better than the St. Joseph's Rams' team of Jack Zylstra (team low 85), Aiden Shaw and Owen McIntyre.

ST. THOMAS - Touchdowns in the final seconds of the first half and early third quarter, sparked the South Lions, to a 27-3 win, over the Parkside Stampeders, in their home opener tonight in TVRA senior football, at Parkside C.I. South was holding an 8-3 lead, until Zave Allan broke out for a TD run with 17 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Oliver Griffiths scampered yards three minutes into the second half, putting the Lions up 22-3, following the point after. Griffiths, who also kicked all PATs, added a field goal and Parkside gave up a two-point safety, to complete the Lion's scoring. Following a game opening rouge by Lions' Kyle Comeau, Zack Copeland put Parkside up 3-1, on a field goal. A LJ Dyer TD gave South back the lead.

DORCHESTER, ON. - The St. Joseph's Rams have continued what the team started as novice boys last season.
Aiden Coles won the four kilometre junior boys' race at the Dorchester Invitational, the first Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) cross country meet of the season.
Coles finished the route in 13:52, followed by his brother Tristan and teammates Brent Hagerty and Aiden Holder, in second, third and eighth place, respectively. The Rams handily won the junior boys' team title.
Last November, St. Joe's placed eighth as a team in novice boys, formerly titled midget boys, at OFSAA, the high school provincial championships.
St. Joe's Ram Diego Alban-Gasca won the para race, followed by teammate Gabriel Dala.
The host school had three top 10 results. Hannah McIntyre was fourth, in the novice girls' race, Connor Erb, fifth, senior boys and Ashley Legg, ninth, junior girls. Parkside Stampeder Mason Basson placed sixth, in the junior boys' race. Former Mitchell Hepburn Mustang Sydney Murdock, now at London Oakridge, finished second in novice girls.

DORCHESTER, ON. - It is a new look for the Thames Valley Region Association (TVRA) South-East division. For the first time at the senior level for girls' basketball and boys' volleyball, there is a combined regular season schedule for the 1A and AA schools. The Parkside Stampeders, the lone 3A school in the South-East region, have moved to the Central Division. Senior girls' basketball in the South-East has 10 teams, including the Arthur Voaden Vikings, Central Elgin Titans, Dorchester Beavers, East Elgin Eagles and West Elgin Wildcats. The same local schools have senior boys volleyball teams.

GUELPH, ON. - Since last summer East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen and Chatham-Kent's Emma Pegg have formed a friendship. Well, aside for about those two minutes and 14 seconds every time they step on to the track for an 800 metre race. Pegg and Knelsen finished one-two in the junior women's 800 metre run, on day three of the OFSAA track and field championships. Dorchester's Brianna Rand set a personal best (PB) time of 45.44 seconds grabbing the silver medal in the midget women's 300-metre hurdles. Parkside's Mason Basson just missed the podium finishing fourth in the midget men's 800 metre run.

GUELPH, ON. - Crossing the finish line Tayah De Sousa covered her face realizing she was an OFSAA champion.
The Central Elgin Titan won the junior women's 80-metre hurdles, in a personal best time of 11.43 seconds, with her dad, grandparents and coaches watching, at OFSAA track and field, at Guelph University.
De Sousa is the first Titan to win OFSAA gold since 2013, when Riley Bell was
the provincial long jump and triple jump champion.

GUELPH, ON. - Arthur (A.J.) Stanat is an OFSAA champion in discus for a second consecutive year.
The Parkside Collegiate student threw 52.65 metres to win the junior men's event, on day one of the OFSAA track and field championships, at Guelph University. A year ago, Stanat was the midget men's discus champion.

COURTICE, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders leave with a win in the school's first OFSAA rugby appearance. Following two close losses, the Stampeders defeated Milton Jean Vanier, 23-5, in an OFSAA AAA girls' friendly match, at the South Courtice arena field. The Stampeders opened the OFSAA AAA girls' rugby championships, falling 17-7, to fifth seeded Caledon Mayfield, at Clarington Fields After a shaky first half, Parkside controlled the majority of the play in the second half, highlighted with a score. Maggie Gordon scored Parkside's try (five points), followed by a two-point convert by Christine Baxter.

CAMBRIDGE, ON. - No better way to advance to OFSAA than winning an event with a personal best effort. Four local athletes, Dorchester's Leaha Johnston and Brianna Rand, Parkside's Mason Basson and Central Elgin's Hannah Onyema, did just that feat and are now heading to the provincial high school meet as event champions, from day two of the OFSAA West regional track and field meet, at Jacob Hespeler high school. Johnston won junior women's javelin, Rand finished first in the midget women's 300-metre hurdles and Onyema took the junior women's shot put crown. Basson won the midget men's 800-metre run and was second in high jump, a day after finishing third in the 1500 metres, qualifying for OFSAA in all three events. The top four in each event from the regional meet, advance to this year's Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championships, June 6-8, at the University of Guelph. In total from both days of the meet, 14 athletes in 23 events, representing Central Elgin, Dorchester, East Elgin Parkside and St. Joseph's high schools, advanced to OFSAA.

LONDON, ON. - The early days of June won't feel the same for Parkside Stampeders' girls soccer team. A five year run to the OFSAA championship has been snapped, after the London Lucas Vikings blanked Parkside, 3-0, in the WOSSAA AAA final, at City Wide Fields. During their five consecutive appearances at the provincial high school tournament, all at the AA level, the Stampeders twice won the gold medal. This was the first year in the AAA division. Lucas placed fourth at OFSAA AAA last year.

LONDON, ON. - Michael Roth is back and healthy. The Parkside Stampeder won the senior men's 200 metre sprint and placed second in the 400-metre hurdles, a day after winning the 400 metre run, at the WOSSAA track and field championships, at Western University. Fellow Stampeder Mason Basson, also qualified in three events, winning the midget men's 800 metre run and high jump on day two, after placing second in the 1500 metres.

LONDON, ON. - Tayah De Sousa may have had all four of her events on the same day, three within a two hour span, but that didn't slow the Central Elgin Titan on day one of the WOSSAA track and field championships. De Sousa won gold in both the junior women's 80-metre hurdles and long jump, placed second in the 100-metre sprint, and helped the Titans' junior women's 4x100-metre relay team finished fifth.
The top five in each event advance to the OFSAA West regional meet, May 31-June 1, in Cambridge. Fellow Titan Hannah Onyema won junior women's discus. A.J. Stanat, of Parkside C.I. won gold in junior men's shot put and discus, while fellow Stampeder Michael Roth took gold in the senior men's 400 metre run. East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen finished first in the junior women's 1500 metres, while Nathaniel Abell was second, in the open men's steeplechase.

LONDON, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders have broken through to OFSAA girls' rugby. In their fourth year in the sport and first at the AAA level, the Stampeders are the WOSSAA AAA champions, following a 19-7 win against the Medway Cowboys in the final, at St. George's Fields. Aly Cole, Haley Cockrill and Maggie Gordon, each scored a try (five points), while Christine Baxter made one two-point convert. Abby Anderson had Medway's try, converted by Ashley Edgeworth.

TILLSONBURG, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders captured the boys and girls' Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) AAA South-East soccer titles, both teams defeating the Ingersoll Blue Bombers, in their respective finals. Zeke Gubinczki and Colton Waicek scored as Parkside blanked Ingersoll, 2-0, in the boys' game. Tazia Lessard potted a hat trick to lead the Lady Stamps past Ingersoll, 7-0. LONDON, ON. - It was a question East Elgin Eagles’ coach Jon Loney had to think and long and hard about for an answer. Even after several minutes and tossing around a few names, Loney couldn’t recall the last time an East Elgin athlete won three gold medals at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics track and field championships. That’s exactly the feat accomplished by Eagles’ freshman Julie Nagelhout, by winning midget girls’ javelin, long and triple jumps, during the two day meet, held at TD Stadium, May 15-16th.

ST. THOMAS - Parkside will be the top team heading into the Thames Valley Regional Athletics South-East AA/AAA boys and girls' soccer playoffs.
The Lady Stampeders completed an undefeated regular season run at 6-0-0, dumping the Central Elgin Titans, 4-1, under the lights at Parkside C.I. Savannah Williams, Halle Szabo, Taylor Goodhue and Klara Lattanzio, on a penalty shot, scored for Parkside. Paige Gillespie replied for the Titans.
Earlier in the day, Zeke Gubinczki had two goals and Brendan Smida and Colton Wiacek one each, as the Stampeder boys doubled up on the East Elgin Eagles, 4-2, to finish at 4-0-2. Rob Redecop had both goals for the visitors. Parkside will host TVRA South-East AA boys and girls' semifinal games Tuesday, May 21st.

TILLSONBURG, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders won both the boys and girls' finals at the Gemini Cup soccer tournament. The Lady Stampeders won all four of their games, outscoring opponents, 25-0, including blanking London Lucas, 1-0, in the final. Savannah Williams scored and Stamps' keeper Aviva Fournie stopped a late game penalty shot.
The boys edged London Lucas, 2-1, in their final, on goals by Kaiden Banks and Camden Simda, with a penalty shot.

LONDON, ON. - The Elgin East Eagles' ladies doubles team of Selecia Wall and Ella Cattryse was the top result for the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) South Division, at the Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) junior badminton championships, at Saunders Secondary School. Cattryse and Wall placed fifth, with a record of 3-2.
St. Joseph's Ram Connor Dupuis also went 3-2 in men's singles. Dupius was the silver medalist at the District championships, losing the final match, two games to one to a London Christian player.
Going 2-2 at WOSSAA were both Eagles' Rachel Sawatzky and Central Elgin Titan Sherah Kuiper, in ladies' singles and Dorchester's Leaha Johnston and Eric McLellen,

LONDON, ON. - Michael Roth sent a message to the rest of the senior boys' sprinters. The Parkside Stampeder is back and ready this year's track and field season. Roth won the senior boys' 100 (11.22 seconds), 200 (23.48 sec.) and 400-metre (51.33 sec.) races, at the Forest City Mustang Invitational, at Western University, on April 26th. Last year Roth suffered a season ending injury in his first of three races, at the OFSAA West regional meet. STRATHROY, ON. - Their remarkable career came to end just short of the desired goal. West Elgin Wildcats' girls' doubles team of Ashley Tucker and Katie Bradshaw placed fourth, for the second consecutive season, at the WOSSAA senior badminton championships, at Strathroy DCI.
Tucker and Bradshaw were the top result from the TVRA South-East division, finishing with a record of 3-2.
East Elgin Eagles' boys' doubles team of Matthew Abell and Brian Dyck, Dorchester's Victoria Quance and Kyle Morris and East Elgin's Alyssa Voros and Correy
Mantel, all went 1-2.

TILLSONBURG, ON. - There was no surprise with West Elgin Wildcats' Katie Bradshaw and Ashley Tucker repeating as ladies doubles champions.
Bradshaw and Tucker led the Wildcats to the team title, at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) South-East senior badminton championships, at Glendale high school.
Parkside Stampeder Michelle Mills is the ladies' champion.

LONDON, ON. - Ashley Watson, Savannah Williams and Klara Lattanzio, each scored twice as the Parkside Stampeders opened the 2019 Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) girls' soccer season, blanking the East Elgin Eagles, 6-0, at City Wide Fields. Aviva Fournie and Janessa Davies shared the shutout. On the boys' side, Parkside and East Elgin battled to a scoreless draw. Eagles' Ethan Cartwright and Stampeder Ian MacDonald threw up shutouts. Parkside hit three posts.

TORONTO, ON. - Briar McCaw, of Parkside C.I., placed eighth in the under 14 girls' 50-metre fly A final (33.33 seconds), at the OFSAA swimming championships, today at the Pan Am Sports Centre.
McCaw also won the U14 girls' 100-metre I.M. B final, in 1:16.89 (ninth overall).
Seth Walker led the East Elgin Eagles on day two of the provincial two day event.
Walker finished 12th, in the 15 years and over boys' 50-metre fly (28.92 sec.), but was disqualified in the 100-metre I.M. final. Walker had a preliminary time of 1:07.65 to advance to the final. Eagles' teammates Lauren Kremers placed 19th, in the U14 girls' 100-metre I.M. (1:20.38), Haileigh Neusteter, 28th, in the 15 year and over girls' 50-metre fly (34.13 sec.) and Haly Broer was 36th, in the open girls' 200-metre I.M. (2:39.44)
St. Joseph's Ram Kayla Keyes placed fifth, in the 15 years and over girls'
50-metre fly B final (13th overall) in 33.25 seconds and 21st, in the 100-metre

OTTAWA, ON. - Gavin Eldridge is an OFSAA silver medalist. The Parkside C.I. student was undefeated before losing in the boys' 57.5-kilogram gold medal match to Roman Wawryk, of Kitchener C.I.
The scorecard favoured Wawryk, 14-6. In the semifinals, Eldridge again beat his long time WOSSAA rival, Diego Worsley, of London Beal. Parkside teammate, Maddie King was sixth, in the girls' 47.5-kilogram division.
Patrick Salvador, a student at London Mother Teresa, who trains with the St. Joseph's Rams, is the boys' 77-kilogram OFSAA champion. Salvador beat Sukhman Gosal, of Turner Fenton, in the gold medal match.
Dorchester's Josh Smith placed fifth, in the 72-kilogram class.

LONDON, ON - The Parkside Stampeders and Dorchester Beaver both brought home silver while the St. Joseph's Rams won bronze, at WOSSAA girls' hockey. Parkside was defeated by now six time WOSSAA champion Medway Cowboys, 4-1, in the AAA final, Tuesday at Stronach Arena. Dorchester fell to the Clinton St. Anne’s Eagles, 6-1, in the A/AA final, Monday, at Stronach. St. Joe’s left a heart-breaking 6-5 loss to Dorchester, behind in the A/AA semifinals, to win the bronze medal, crushing London South, 8-1.

VANASTRA, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders are WOSSAA silver medalists in girls' curling. Clinton Central Huron won gold, defeating Parkside, 6-3, in the girls' final, at the Vanastra Curling Club.
Parkside beat London CCH, 10-4, in the semifinals. London Montcalm took the bronze medal. On the boys' side, Tillsonburg Glendale is heading to OFSAA,
defeating London Oakridge, in the final. South Huron grabbed the bronze medal.

ST. THOMAS - Ethan Tichenoff and Owen VanSteensel scored and Quinton Duncan had the shutout, as the Medway Cowboys blanked London CCH, 2-0, in the WOSSAA AAA boys' hockey gold medal game, at the Joe. London Lucas edged the Parkside Stampeders, 2-1, in the bronze medal game, with Ryan Mills and Colin McDonald bulging the twine. Derek Cummings replied for the Stamps.
In the semifinals, Medway doubled up on Lucas, 4-2, while CCH silenced Parkside,

ST. THOMAS - It took three attempts but the Parkside Stampeders finally beat the Central Elgin Titans and it came in the championship game. Parkside captured the TVRA South-East girls’ curling title, defeating Central Elgin, 7-5, in the final, at the St. Thomas Curling Club. The Stampeders’ team of Johnston and Allison Young, both in Grade nine and Grade 12 students Felicia Fernades and Audrey Moore, now head to WOSSAA, at the Vanastra Curling Club, south of Clinton, March 5th.
On the boys’ side, Tillsonburg Glendale Gemini won a fourth consecutive
South-East crown, beating East Elgin for a third year in a row.

LONDON, ON - Twenty athletes from the Parkside Stampeders, St. Joseph's Rams, Dorchester Beavers and Central Elgin Titans, are heading to OFSAA. Two spots in each weight class at the WOSSAA championships, were available for the high school tournament, March 5-6, in Ottawa.
Parkside won the overall team title, led by gold medalists Maddie King (girls' 47.5-kg), Gavin Eldridge (boys' 57.5-kg), Peyton Brodie-Grubb (girls' 61-kg), Cole Moore (83-kg) and Brady Johnson (boys' 130-kg). Julie Boyko (girls' 57.5-kg) took home silver, while Emma Penner (girls' 61-kg) and Steph Boyko (girls' 67.5-kg) won challenge matches, grabbing a qualifying berth in their respective weight class.
St. Joe's sends Liam Bacon (boys' 61-kg), Mary Clare Haasen (girls' 64-kg), Krystian Krzyzewski (boys' 89-kg), Kendall Dettloff (girls' 54-kg), Patrick Salvador (boys' 77-kg) and Thomas Fortier (boys' 95-kg).
Dorchester has Kolton Reading, (boys' 38-kg) Nick Lynch (boys' 38-kg), Owen Bisschop (67.5-kg) and Josh Smith (boys' 72kg).

LONDON, ON - The East Elgin Eagles are swimming with the big fish. At Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) swim championships, held at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, February 14th, the Eagles placed fifth overall in the team standings, out of 29 teams. The Eagles have 13 individuals and three relay teams, qualifying for the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) meet, February 19th, at Western University.
The St Joseph's Rams won the para division and will send 16 individuals and two relay teams to WOSSAA. The Parkside Stampeders have seven advancing and the Central Elgin Titans, three. The Dorchester Beavers will be represented by Aidan Currah.

ST. THOMAS - The Parkside Stampeders have sent a message to the rest of the competition in Thames Valley Regional Association (TVRA) wrestling. The blue and white are ready for the TVRA Conference championships. For the first time in several years, Parkside captured the TVRA duel meet championship. This comprises of meets held throughout the season at various schools. Parkside hosted the final one this past Thursday and were able to clinch the title on home mats. Gavin Eldridge, Maddie King, Payton, Brodie-Grubb and sisters Steph and Julie Boyko, were among 15 Parkside weight class champions.

Braelyn Dennis, Taylor Goodhue and Amber Safadi were notified of their selection to the 14-player roster (12 players, two goalies) prior to Christmas, from three tryouts held in the Toronto area.

THOMAS - Isiah MacDougall scored eight points, including a pair of three-pointers, as the Central Elgin Titans rebounded from a huge Parkside Stampeders' comeback, for a 56-50 win, in TVRA South Division senior boys' basketball, at Central Elgin C.I. The Titans led 27-17 at half and were leading 44-26, before the Stampeders sat up straight in the saddle. A 14-0 run in the fourth quarter tied the game at 50. MacDougall finished with 22 points, while Cole Verhulst had 17 points. Colby Latella led Parkside with 19 points and Christian Coombes added 10.

INGERSOLL, ON. - A marathon fourth game capped a victory for the Parkside Stampeders, in the TVRA South-East AA senior boys' volleyball final. The Stampeders took game four, 32-30, to win the best of five game match, three games to one, at Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute. Ingersoll thrilled fans by taking the opening game 25-19, but Parkside responded with three victories in a row.
The Stampeders now head to the WOSSAA 3A tournament, November 13th, at Oakridge secondary school, in London.

BURLINGTON, ON.
- It is silver for the Parkside Stampeders. The St. Thomas school has their first medal from OFSAA field hockey, finishing second at this year's provincial tournament.
Breslau St. John's Kilmarnock Eagles won the OFSAA championship, edging Parkside, 2-1, in the gold medal game, at Nelson Athletic Park. Kendra Hulst gave Parkside a 1-0 lead, in the opening minute, but the Eagles struck back with two goals, all in the first half. The previous best result for Parkside was in 2008, when the Stampeders lost in the quarterfinals.
Several members of the Stampeders, including Hulst, have added field hockey silver to a pair of OFSAA gold medals in soccer.

BURLINGTON, ON. ( 4 p.m.) - The Parkside Stampeders are going to where they have never gone before in field hockey. Aviva Fournie and Braelyn Dennis scored as Parkside edged Pickering, 2-1, in a quarterfinal this afternoon at Norton Park. Parkside faces Bill Cothers secondary school, from Unionville, in a semifinal, Saturday, 9 a.m. at Nelson Field. The Stampeders opened the scoring, before Pickering tied the game. Dennis replied with the eventual winner, with all goals coming in the first half. The previous best result for Parkside was in 2008, when the Stampeders lost in the quarterfinals.

OAKVILLE, ON. ( 1 p.m.) - The Parkside Stampeders have advanced from pool play at OFSAA field hockey. Aviva Fournie scored twice and Kendra Hulst scored on a penalty flick, as Parkside wrapped up pool action, dumping Peterborough St. Peter, 6-0. Parkside finishes with two wins and one tie, tied for first in their pool, with Kitchener St. Mary's, who the Stampeders tied yesterday.
St. Mary's gets first on the tie-breaker, allowing one less goal over three games.
The Stampeders play Pickering in a 2:30 p.m quarterfinal. Pickering went 3-0 in their pool, outscoring opponents, 6-1.
Taylor Goodhue, Paige Goodhue and Halle Szabo, completed the Stampeders' scoring against St. Peter.

LONDON, ON. – Maggie Gordon was vocal throughout the game. But the Parkside Stampeders' goalie was left speechless after her teammates qualified for OFSAA field hockey, blanking the Goderich Vikings, in the WOSSAA championship game. Aviva Fournie had the lone goal in the rematch of the final two years ago that Goderich won. Parkside returns to OFSAA for the first time since 2014. The tournament is November 1-3, in Burlington.

ORWELL, ON. – The Lord Dorchester Beavers and St. Joseph's Rams had huge days on the trails and now are heading to the biggest cross country meet of the season. Two teams and two individuals, from St. Thomas-Elgin and Dorchester, are heading to OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, following qualifying performances at WOSSAA, held at the Springwater Conservation Area. The top two teams in each of the six divisions and the fastest five individuals not on the top two teams, qualify for OFSAA, November 3, in
Dundas. Aiden Coles was the runner-up in the midget boys' race, leading St. Joe's to the team title. It's the third consecutive year a Rams team has qualified for OFSAA. Owen Pink finished second and Connor Erb was eighth, to lead Dorchester's junior boys' team to second place, behind London Oakridge. Dorchester's Ashley Legg placed second in the midget girls' race.
East Elgin Eagle junior Hallee Knelsen was third in her race and returns to the provincial meet. As a midget, Knelsen finished 26th last year at OFSAA.

LONDON, ON. – The reigning champions gave a lesson to the new kids on the block on how to remain the number one team. Renee Lammiman led the way scoring a hat trick, as the Parkside Stampeders won their third consecutive Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey title, defeating the Lord Dorchester Beavers, 9-0, in the final, at City Wide Fields. Parkside completes an undefeated run through TVRA, including shutting out the Strathroy Saints, 3-0, in their semifinal. The Stampeders advance to the WOSSAA game, against the Huron-Perth champion, Thursday at City Wide.

WOODSTOCK, ON. – It was not hard to spot members of the Lord Dorchester Beavers or St. Joseph's Rams cross country teams. That is because they were running roughshod among the top 20 in each of the six races, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County championships, at Roth Park. The top four teams in each of the six divisions qualify for the WOSSAA championships, Thursday, October 25th, at Springwater Conservation Area. Any individual runner finishing in the top 20 in their respective race also moves on.
The top two overall boys and girls teams also qualify. By no surprise it was Dorchester and St. Joe's, respectively.
St. Joe's won the midget boys, midget girls and junior girls' team crowns. Dorchester was the junior and senior boys team champions, leaving Strathroy DCI with the senior girls' title.

WINDSOR, ON. – Madison Telford, of Parkside Collegiate Institute, placed 42nd, in the high school division, at the OFSAA girls’ golf festival, at the Ambassador Golf Club, October 10-11.
“My experience at OFSAA was great. It’s always so much fun to go out and play with girls from different areas of the province. It’s great to play with girls who love the game and are out there to do their best but have fun,” said Telford, who had a two round total of 208. “The weather on day two was challenging. It was cold and windy, so it wasn’t the most enjoyable time to be outside. The course was a good challenge. There were a few holes that were really tough and made my score higher than I would have liked.”
Elaine Surjoprajogo, of Brampton Cardinal Leger, won the high school division, with a two round total of 166. Gabby Harrison, from Medway high school, had the best result for golfers representing WOSSAA, finishing 24th (194). Shreya Dalal, out of London Lucas, was 40th (207). In the open division, Madeline Choi, of Woodstock CI, was 34th, with a two day total of 183. Tilbury District’s Hailey Katona won OFSAA
with a one under 141.

ST. THOMAS - Noah Asher had touchdown runs of 22 and 60 yards, helping the Parkide Stampeders to a 31-14 win, over the London South Lions, in TVRA junior football at Parkside Collegiate.
Parkside led 17-7 at half, thanks to Asher's long run, a TD pass from quaterback Brady Lidster to Joey Crevits and a Zach Copeland field goal. The Stampeders' defence held South, in part to a JC Jones fumble recovery and a goal line stand late in the fourth quarter.
In senior action, Parkside fell to South, 38-22. The Lions roared out to a 30-0 lead, before the Stampeders found the end zone. Craig Coleman had a pair of TD runs, both followed by two-point converts. Parkside

THEDFORD, ON. - Owen Pink finished third, followed by Connor Erb in sixth place, to lead the Lord Dorchester Beavers to the junior boys' team title, at the Widder Station cross country meet.
Dilpreet Sandhu placed 12th, Aidan Currah, 13th and Joshua Smith, 14th, rounding out Dorchester's top five runners, in the five kilometre race.
The St. Joseph's Rams didn't have the Coles brothers running, but that didn't prevent their midget boys from a fourth team title of the season. Harrison Belanger led the Rams finishing third, followed by James Hill, in 11th, Joel Bowden, 12th and Carson Bonnett, 34th.
Parkside Stampeders' Brent Hagerty and Mason Basson, were second and fourth, respectively, in the midget boys' four kilometre race. Dorchester's Ashley Legg was third in the midget girls' race, while Colson Erb led Dorchester in the senior boys' race finishing sixth. St. Joseph's Cerena Aitken-Guignard and Ashley Betencourt, placed eighth and 10th, respectively. Cerena's older sister, Arielle, placed seventh, in the junior girls' race. Diego Alban Gasca, from St. Joe's, was fifth, in the para race.

LONDON, ON. – The Parkside Stampeders will be the top team heading into playoffs. Wins over both the Medway Cowboys and Dorchester Beavers clinched first place in Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey, at City Wide Fields. Renee Lammiman, Savannah Williams and Grace Clinton scored, as Parkside blanked long time rivals Medway, 3-0. Lammiman, with two goals, Kendra Hulst and Grace Shackelton found the inside of the net, downing Dorchester 4-1. The Stampeders aim to get past WOSSAA and advance to OFSAA for the first time since 2014.
Dorchester will finish third in TVRA behind second place Medway.

ST. THOMAS - Mac Watson rumbled in for a touchdown on a three yard run, putting the Parkside Stampeder up 17-16 mid fourth quarter. The major held to be the winning play as the Stampeders rallied to squeak by the Medway Cowboys, 17-15, in TVRA senior football at Parkside Collegiate.
Parkside led 8-0 early, on a converted Craig Coleman TD and missed field goal attempt for a single. Medway got on the board with a 75-yard TD pass. The home side led 9-7, at half-time, adding a single on a second failed field goal attempt.
Medway took a 15-9 lead in the third quarter. The Cowboys pressed for the go ahead points with 2:51 remaining in the fourth quarter, but Stampeder Zach Copeland batted down a pass attempt.
Copeland finished with three singles and two points after TDs.
In junior action, the Stampders fell to Medway, 29-21. Logan Taylor, with two passes for touchdowns and Joey Crevits, scored for Parkside,
now at 1-1.

LONDON, ON. - Madison Telford will be teeing off at OFSAA again. The Parkside Stampeder had a round of 88, the third lowest round, at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association (WOSSAA) girls’ golf championship, during rainy and windy conditions, at Westminster Trails. Telford qualifies for OFSAA, the provincial high school championship, for the fourth time in her career.

ST. THOMAS - Their attack came from the air, the ground and the foot of Zach Copeland. When the dust cleared from the offensive assault, the Parkside Stampeders had routed the East Elgin Eagles, 38-1, to open the Thames Valley Regional Athletics senior football season, under the lights, at Parkside C.I. In the junior season opener, Logan Taylor had two touchdowns and Brady Lidster had one major, four PATs and a single, as Parkside dumped East Elgin, 35-16.

UNION, ON - John Orlebar fired an 84 to win the TVRA Tri-County boys' golf individual A flight title, at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. The East Elgin secondary school golfer helped the Eagles' team place fourth.
With three scores in the 80s, the St. Joseph's Rams won the Tri-County team title by 12 strokes, with Brett Chapman (85), Owen McIntrye (86) and Aiden Shaw (89).
Jayden Boddy also carded an 85, to help Dorchester place third, while Luke Trowman led Parkside CI with an 88. In B flight action, Central Elgin Titan Rob Schivers led the way with an 81.-16.

TECUMSEH, ON. – For the second time in three years, the Parkside Stampeders are OFSAA AA girls' soccer champions. Presley Gruener potted the decisive penalty kick, while keeper Aviva Fournie made a big stop, to lift the Parkside Stampeders over the St. Mike's Mustangs, from Niagara Falls, 3-2 (4-3), in penalty kicks, to win the gold medal game, at L'Essor high school.
St. Mike's opened the scoring 12 minutes into the first half. Petra Salin tied the game five minutes later, then gave Parkside a 2-1 lead, in the opening minutes of the second half. The Mustags knotted the game at two
goals each, with five minutes remaining in regulation time.

St. Joseph's Ram Liam Clark took home the bronze medal in the senior men's 400-metre hurdles. East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen won bronze in the midget women's 800-metre run.

Ashley Watson and Tiffany Johnston scored, as Parkside edged the Corpus Christi Longhorns, 2-1, in a semifinal, at L'Essor high school. Parkside faces St. Mike's high school, from Niagara Falls, in the gold medal game, today at 1:30 p.m., at L'Essor.
"It is so hard to get to OFSAA and now we have a chance at gold for the second time in two years," said Parkside coach Gerry Safadi, following the semifinal win. "So many things have to go right. One more game to go."
Two years ago, Parkside won the gold medal, at the tournament held in
Sudbury.

Central Elgin Titan Tayah DeSousa finished fourth, setting a personal best time, in the midget women's 80-metre hurdles, her second runnerup to the podium at the meet. On day one, De Sousa landed fourth in long jump.
St. Joseph's Ram Liam Clark was sixth in a talented field, for the senior men's 110-metre hurdles final. Clark has his stronger event, the 400-metre hurdles on Saturday.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen finished seventh, in the midget women's 1500 metres, with a personal best time of 4:19.10. Knelsen returns to the track on Saturday for the 800 metre run.
Also seventh was Parkside Stampeder Anij Sparenberg, in junior women's discus.
Central Elgin Titan Hayden Bell placed eighth, in the senior men's high jump, while fellow Titan, Hannah Onyema, was 10th, in midget women's shot put. Onyema throws discus on Saturday.
Dorchester's Leaha Johnston just missed the top 10, placing 12th, in midget women's javelin.

TORONTO, ON. – It is a final throw Arthur Stanat
will always remember. Stanat saved his best for last, earning the Parkside Collegiate Institute athlete a bronze medal, in midget men's shot put, at the OFSAA track and field championships, at York University. Sitting seventh entering the sixth and final round of the competition, Stanat threw a
personal best effort of 14.99 metres, lifting him into the third.
Tayah De Sousa, of Central Elgin CI, missed the podium by one centimetre, landing in fourth place, in midget women's long jump. Hallee Knelsen, from East Elgin secondary school, qualified for Friday's midget women's 1500 metre race final. WINDSOR, ON. – Tayah De Sousa, Liam Clark and AJ Stanat, are heading to OFSAA as champions.
The trio won gold at the OFSAA West regional track and field championships, June 1-2, at the University of Windsor Stadium.
De Sousa, of Central Elgin CI, won midget women's long jump and finished second in the 80-metre hurdles, while Stanat, of Parkside CI, won midget men's discus and placed second in shot put. Clark, from St. Joseph's high school, won the senior men's 400-metre hurdles and finished fourth in the 110-metre hurdles.
Ten athletes in total from the St. Thomas - Elgin County and Dorchester area, qualified for OFSAA, the provincial high school championships, in Toronto, June 7-9.

LONDON, ON. – The Dorchester and Elgin County area had seven athletes win 11 gold medals, led by the Central Elgin Titans with five to call their own, at the WOSSAA track and field championships, at TD Stadium. Titan Tayah De Sousa brought home two gold medals, winning both the midget women's 80-metre hurdles and long jump, while Hannah Onyema took top spot in midget women's shot put and discus. ST. THOMAS – It's the Stratford St. Mike's Warriors moving on to OFSAA. Georgia Schoonderwoerd pushed in for a try, converted by Cassandra Van Bakel, with five minutes remaining in the second half, to lift the Warriors over the Parkside Stampeders, 19-12, in the WOSSAA AA girls' rugby final, at Parkside CI. Tied at 12, Parkside had a golden opportunity to go ahead mid second half, but the St. Mike's defence stopped Stampeder Taylor Sydner metres short of the goal line.

TILLSONBURG, ON. – Kaitlin Ellery scored twice to lift the Parskide Stampeders over the London Lucas Vikings, 2-1, for the girls' soccer title, at the Gemini Cup.
Parkside finished 4-0 including wins over West Elgin, London Clarke Road and host Tillsonburg Glendale, in pool play.
Lucas won the boys' final edging Glendale, 2-1, on penalty kicks.
The St. Joseph's Rams blanked London South, 2-0, in the boys' third place game. Dennis Reid and Caleb Schaap scored, while keeper Evan Wharton earned the shutout.

LONDON, ON. – Blake Willmore, from Parkside Collegiate Institute, accomplished his goal of a top four performance, placing third, in men's singles, at the WOSSAA junior badminton championship, at Saunders secondary school. WINDSOR, ON. – Owen Lynch is top five in the province.
The Grade nine student from Lord Dorchester secondary school (LDSS), finished fifth, with a 4-2 record, in the boys' 38-kilogram weight class, at the OFSAA wrestling championships, at the WFCU Centre. Lynch defeated Joey Williams, of London Saunders, in the fifth place match.
Lynch's Dorchester teammate Bailey Dowhaniuk was 1-2.
Maddie King, from Parkside CI, in the girls' 44-kilogram division and St. Joseph's Alex Cooper (girls' 83-kg), placed sixth, in their respective divisions. King was one win away from going for gold, but lost her semi-final match to Jessica Hong, the eventual gold medal winner, from Ottawa Sir Robert Borden high school.
Gavin Eldridge (boys' 57.7-kg), of the Parkside Stampeders, finished at 4-2, eliminated after losing to London Beal's Diego Worlsey, in a rematch of the WOSSAA gold medal final. Parkside's Steph Boyko (girls' 67.5-kg) went 3-2, Daniel Rattray (89-kg), 2-2 and Payton Brodie-Grubb (girls' 61-kg), 0-2.
St. Joseph's Nikky Laframboise (girls' 47kg) finished 3-2, while Mackenzie Miller (girls' 115-kg),
was 1-2.
Central Elgin Titans' Sam Gutmanis (boys' 83-kg) was 0-2 and Dalton Holt (77-kg), 1-2.
Arthur Voaden Viking Cadence MacLeod (girls' 115-kg) was 1-2.
Brayden Todd, an Ingeroll DCI student who trains at LDSS, due to no wrestling team at his school, won OFSAA gold for a fourth consecutive year. Todd quickly defeated Adriano Di Benedetto, of Hannon Bishop Ryan, 12-0, in the boys' 61-kg gold medal match. In previous years, Todd won gold at 44, 51 and 57.5 kilograms.

WINDSOR, ON. - Mac Watson won a bronze medal in the junior men’s high school division 50-metre fly, on day two of the OFSAA swimming championships. The Parkside Collegiate Institute athlete adds to his OFSAA medal collection, that includes a silver (50 free) and bronze (100 free) from a year ago. Briar McCaw, also of Parkside, won the B final, finishing ninth overall, in the junior girls’high school division 50-metre back and 15th, in the 50m fly.
Kayla Keyes, of St. Joseph’s high school, placed 16th, in the senior girls’ high school division 100-metre fly and 24th, in the 100m free.
Brennan Piche-Leclair, of East Elgin secondary school, placed sixth, in the para men’s 100m free.

WINDSOR, ON. - Brennan Piche-LeClair is an OFSAA silver medalist. The 16-year old student at East Elgin Secondary school finished second in the para men’s 50-metre backstroke, at the OFSAA swimming championships. Piche-LeClair set a personal best time touching the wall in 47.78 seconds, lowering his best time from 49.11.
In the para men’s 50-metre free, Piche-LeClair finished sixth. Fellow Eagle Haley Broer was 17th, in the open girls’ 100m back (1:09.8).
Parkside C.I.’s Mac Watson finished fifth, in the junior men’s 50m free (26.86 sec.), just three-tenths of a second off of the podium, while the silver medal was won in 26.29 seconds.
Owen Gillet, of St. Joseph’s high school, was eighth in the para men’s 50m back. The 13-year also finished 17th, in the para men’s 50m free. Gillet's teammate Gabriel Dala, was 26th in the para men’s 50m free, but was disqualified in the para 50m back. In the para women’s 50m free, St. Joe’s Brooklyn Reiter was 26th.
Hailey Demeray, of St. Joe’s high school, placed 17th, in the junior girls’ 50m breaststroke (40.63

ST. THOMAS – TSommer Lednicky completed her hat trick, scoring with 1:10 remaining in overtime, to lift the Ingersoll Blue Bombers over the Parkside Stampeders, 4-3, capturing the TVRA girls' South-East hockey title.
The Bombers win the final in a two game sweep, after winning game one, 4-3, in Ingersoll, on Monday. Parkside trailed 2-0 and 3-1, before rallying to tie, sending the game into extra time. Kaitlin Ellery, with two goals and Aviva Fournie, scored for the Stampeders. Amber Foster also score for Ingersoll, while Sabrina Schuett drew two assists.
It is the third consecutive year that Ingersoll ends Parkside's season and
back to back in the final.

after placing first or second in their respective divisions, at the WOSSAA championships, at Banting high school.
The Parkside Stampeders lead the way with five athletes, Daniel Rattray (gold, 89-kg), Gavin Eldridge (silver, 57.5kg), Payton Brodie-Grubb (gold, girls' 61-kg), Maddie King (gold, girls' 44-kg) and Steph Boyko (silver, girls' 67.5-kg).
St. Joe's Rams have three returning to OFSAA, Alex Cooper (gold, girls' 83-kg), Mackenzie Miller (gold, girls' 115-kg) and Nikky Laframboise (silver, girls' 47.5-kg).
Sam Gutmanis (silver, boys' 83-kg) and Dalton Holt (silver, 77-kg), will represent the Central Elgin Titans and Cadence MacLeod rthur Voaden Vikings.

LONDON, ON – Mac Watson and Briar McCaw are three-time WOSSAA gold medalists in the pool. The Parkside Collegiate Institute athletes, won every race entered, at the WOSSAA swim championships, at Western University. Both advance to OFSAA, February 27/28, in Windsor. Watson won the 14 years and under boys’ high school division, 50-metre fly (30.38 seconds), 50m free (27.57 sec.) and 100m free (1:02.69). McCaw was the fastest in the 14 years and under girls’ high school division, 50-metre fly (33.88 seconds), 50m back (36.73 sec.) and 100m I.M. (1:19.76).

ST. THOMAS – A few months ago Payton Brodie-Grubb felt she may not wrestle again, let alone be a top wrestler at a championship meet. The Parkside Stampeder was the most outstanding female wrestler, capturing the gold medal in the girls' 61-kilogram class, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Michienzi Conference wrestling championships, in front of a home crowd, at Parkside Collegiate Institute. The top five in each weight class at conference, move on to WOSSAA, Friday, February 23, at London Banting secondary school.

Ronayne scored in the fourth round of a shootout, giving the Stampeders a 6-5 win and a two games to none series victory, over the East Elgin Eagles, in the South-East quarterfinal, at Memorial Arena.

Jordan Medeiros scored the lone goal on an early first period power play, as the Stampeders blanked the East Elgin Eagles, 1-0, in game one of their best of three game Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South East boys’ hockey quarter-final, at the East Elgin Community Complex.
Winless in the first half of the regular season, the Stampeders reeled off four

ST. THOMAS – Mac Watson is continuing where he left off from last season. The Grade 10 student at Parkside Collegiate Institute won the 50-metre freestyle, 100-metre free and 50-metre butterfly, in the 14 years and under boys’ high school division, repeating a feat he accomplished a year ago, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics swimming championships, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Watson finished the 2017 swim season at OFSAA, bringing home a silver medal in the boys’ 14 years and under 50 free and a bronze in the 100 free. Prior to the provincial high school championships, Watson touched the wall first in each of his three races, both at WOSSAA and TVRA. Parkside's Briar McCaw, St. Joseph's Kayla Keyes and Hailey Demeray, East Elgin Eagles Brennan Piche-LeClair and Haley Broer and Dorchester's Cloe Selinga, also made splashes at the meet.

LONDON, ON. – Mac Watson led all local athletes at the final invitational swim meet before the championship season begins in February. The Parkside Collegiate Institute swimmer placed second in the boys’ 50-metre free, 50m fly and 100m free races, at the Winter Classic, January 11, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre (CGAC). Last year, as a grade nine athlete, Watson won silver (junior 50m free) and bronze medals (junior 100m free) at OFSAA. The 2018 TVRA swim championships are February 6-7, followed by WOSSAA, on February 15, both at the CGAC. OFSAA returns to Windsor, February 27-28.

The Parkside Stampeders grabbed a lead early, maintained the advantage for most of the game, on their way to defeating the Central Elgin Titans on their home court, 48-43, in TVRA South Division senior boys' basketball. Taylor Robertson led the Stampeders, with 15 points,while Landon Johnstone had 15 points for the Titans.

ST. THOMAS – High school curling is in full sweep of the broom, with last year's boys and girls' TVRA South-East finalists, leading the way again this season. The East Elgin Eagles, the reigning South-East champs, skipped by Caitlyn Evely, sit atop the girls' standings, with a 4-0 record. The Eagles face Woodstock CI (3-0), on January 17. On the boys' side, East Elgin is 4-0, while Tillsonburg Glendale is 4-1. In the rematch of last year's South-East final that Glendale won, 10-9, the Eagles earned some revenge this season, beating Glendale, 7-5, last month. The Parkside Stampeders hosted the Dorchester Beavers today, at the St. Thomas Curling Club.

LONDON, ON. – The Parskide Stampeders accomplished what few teams have done over the years, defeating the London CCH Crusaders on the gridiron. Not only did Parkside win their first WOSSAA championship in football, the Stampeders did so by dominating the Crusaders, 35-7, in the junior final, at TD Stadium.
Camerin Zimmer scored three touchdowns, his third from a missed field goal attempt. Mac Watson and Brayden Gagnier also had majors, with Rudy Bukich kicking all five single point converts
Parkside scored first and led 14-7 at half-time. Three trips in to the end zone in the third quarter, put the Stampeders
in control, at 28-7.

The Stampeders took the first two games, before the Titans grabbed the momentum for two victories of their own. An incredible solo effort in the fifth and deciding game, lifted the Stampeders to a spot at WOSSAA AA November 16, at South Collegiate Institute, in London.

But the Stampeders held on for a 44-39 win, in the Thames Valley District Regional Athletics (TVRA) South-East senior girls' basketball final, played at Huron Park secondary school. Callista Tryon scored a game high 21 points for Parkside, Lauren Caraher dropped in nine and Jaylin Wismer, chipped in with six. Alyssa Voros led the Eagles, with 14 points, 10 arriving in the final frame.

Luke Gregor converted one TD and Parkside surrendered two points on a safety. The Stampeders finish the regular season, at 4-2, third place, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics Walzak division.
"The kids were tremendous. They used good technique, good footwork and were in good positions 95 per cent of the time (on a muddy, slippery field)," Parkside coach Jason Congdon said. "All three phases were outstanding today."
The defensive highlight was stopping Banting five times (with two offside penalties) inside the Stampeders' five yard line. Parkside host London Saunders, in a B flight semi-final, Friday, at 2 p.m. The B flight features the third and fourth place teams from each division. The East Elgin Eagles take on London Clarke Road, in the other B flight semi-final.

ST. THOMAS – No better time to have a game of the season, then the playoff opener. Faith DeVries scored a game high nine points, while Sherah Kuipers was a rebound monster, with 15, to lead the Central Elgin Titans over the Parkside Stampeders, 31-21, in a TVRA South-East junior girls' basketball quarter-final, at Parkside CI. The Titans were 3-8 during the season, while the Stampeders had a 5-6 record. Both teams finished behind the 8-3 East Elgin Eagles.

ST. THOMAS – The Parkside Stampeders ran the table by not dropping one game (10-0), on their way to winning the Central Elgin Titans' senior boys volleyball tournament. Parkside beat London South, in the final, two games to none, with Nick Sturk named the Stampeders' player of the game. The Stampeders have a match record of 7-0, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South division. Playoffs begin November 2.

CLINTON, ON. – It wasn't Children of the Corn, but for Hallee Knelsen, Connor Erb, Arielle Aitken Guignard and the St. Joseph's Rams' senior girls' team, it was a memorable thriller around the corn field. The three individuals and the St. Joe's ladies, are OFSAA bound, after qualifying at the WOSSAA cross-country championships, held at St. Anne's high school. Knelsen placed third in the midget girls' 4-kilometre race, while Aitken Guignard followed in sixth place. Erb was eighth, in the midget boys' 4-km event. The top two teams, plus the top five individuals, not on those top two teams, in each division, advance to the OFSAA championships, November 4, in Petawawa. The course, located behind the school, took runners alongside a couple corn fields, igniting comments on movies with some association with the crop.

EXETER, ON. – A late goal lifted the South Huron Sabres over the Parkside Stampeders, 1-0, in the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) field hockey final, at South Huron secondary school. Parkside won the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) title, on October 19, blanking Medway, 1-0. The Stampeders never allowed a goal while going undefeated over nine TVRA regular season and playoff games.

ARVA, ON. - A fourth quarter touchdown run, carried the Parkside Stampeders over the Medway Cowboys, 10-2, in Thames Valley Regional Athletics junior football, at Medway high school. Parkside had just punted, before Medway fumbled the ball and the Stampeders recovered, setting up the TD play. Zach Copeland added a late field goal. Scoreless at half-time, Medway took a 2-0 lead, on a third quarter safety.
The Stampeders improve to 4-1, second in the TVRA Walzak division, behind the undefeated East Elgin Eagles.
In senior action, the Cowboys branded the Stampeders, with a 39-8 loss. Rowan Jones had the lone TD for Parkside, now with a 3-2 record.

ST. THOMAS – Zachary Copeland ran in a pair of scores and threw a touchdown pass, leading the Parkside Stampeders, over the London Lucas Vikings, 43-15, in TVRA junior football, at Parkside CI. Improving to 3-1, Parkside led 15-7 after one quarter, but exploded for a 36-7 advantage by half-time. Camerin Zimmer, with two and Mac Watson, also scored TD’s. Copeland was good on all six PAT’s. Parkside also picked up a single, from a first quarter kick-off. The Stampeder defence was yet again solid, with three quarterback sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles that they recovered.

ST. THOMAS – The Parkside Stampeders opened the scoring, but then the London Lucas Vikings took over, handing the Stampeders their first loss, 51-17, in TVRA senior football, at Parkside CI. Stamps' quarterback Drew Foster connected with Ryan Long, for 84-yard TD pass play, early first quarter. It would not be until down 31-7, that Parkside scored again, with Foster finding Long for another strike. Luke Granger kicked a field goal, to round out the Stampeders' scoring. Three interceptions by Lucas stalled the Parkside offence in the second half.

LONDON, ON. – The Parkside Stampeders are back to back field hockey champions. Kendra Hulst scored the game's only goal, midway through the second half, for a 1-0 shutout of the Medway Cowboys, in the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) final, at City Wide Fields. Goalie Vanessa Johnston picked up the shutout, without needing to stop a shot. The Stampeders move on to the WOSSAA championship, October 26, in Goderich. A year ago, Parkside beat Medway, 3-1, in the TVRA final.

SPRINGWATER, ON. – Hallee Knelsen is a Tri-County champion. The East Elgin secondary school runner won the midget girls' race, at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County cross-country championships, at the Springwater Conservation Area. Knelsen was the lone individual race champion, from Elgin County and Dorchester, however, local schools dominated the team divisions. Parkside was number one for junior girls. Central Elgin CI won the midget girls' team title. St. Joe's took the overall boys and girls' team titles, led by their first place senior boys and senior girls' teams.

Drew Foster tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Rowan Jones and Austin Day ran in to the end zone twice, as the Stampeders blanked the London Beal Raiders, 28-0, in TVRA senior football, at Parkside CI. ST. THOMAS – On the first night of the school recognizing 50 years this weekend, both Parkside Stampeders' football teams kicked-off the celebration with victories. Five different players found the end zone, as the senior Stampeders dumped the Strathroy Saints, 45. The junior 'Stangs used TD's, sacks and interceptions, to take care of the Strathroy Saints, 35-7.

AYLMER, ON. – Drew Foster tossed four touchdown passes, leading the Parkside Stampeders, over the East Elgin Eagles, 26-2, in Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) senior football, at East Elgin Secondary school. Foster twice hit Brad Grignard, including a play for 105 yards. Foster also found Ash O'Connor and Rowan Jones, on plays that led to the end zone. The Stampeders successfully converted TD's twice. NORTH BAY, ON. – A goal with eight minutes remaining in the second half lifted Burlington Notre Dame over the Parkside Stampders,
1-0, at the OFSAA AA girls' soccer tournament.
The Notre Dame win prevented Parkside from advancing to the quarter-finals.
"We had several chances but couldn't get the win," Parkside coach Gerry Safadi said. "The girls battled hard against a good team." Notre Dame went on to win the gold medal, with a 4-1 win in the final. Bishop Macdonell
took home the bronze medal. The Stampeders rode a 20 game winning streak into
the provincial tournament, with a roster featuring 16 players in grades nine and
ten. The Stampeders' only losses this season were to Notre Dame and Bishop
Macdonell.
"I told them how proud I was of what we accomplished this year," Safadi said. "OFSAA is a great experience for the team and it will only make us stronger for next year."
One player who graduates following four trips to OFSAA, is co-captain Paisley McGugan. She heads to Guelph University to study criminology. "McGugan has been outstanding," praised Safadi. "Fantastic central defender
who was instrumental in why we only allowed nine goals in 23 games."

BELLEVILLE, ON. – Anij Sparenberg delivered a big throw on her first attempt and then waited to see if anyone could pass it. Only one could throw further, leaving Sparenberg as the OFSAA silver medalist in midget women's javelin, on day two of the provincial high school meet at Centennial high school. The Parkside CI athlete bested her personal best distance entering the competition three times, including the one that landed her on the podium, 33.04 metres.

AA girls' soccer. Taylor Goodhue also scored in a 3-1 win over King City Villanova this morning. Leading 1-0 at half-time, Parkside scored two more times, catching the goalie out of position on both occasions.
"Villanova was physical and played a possession style game until we scored," Parkside coach Gerry Safadi said. "Once we scored they started to play more direct and our defence played well."

LONDON, ON. – Anij Sparenberg is heading to OFSAA as a double qualifier. The Parkside CI athlete placed second in both the midget women's javelin and discus, with personal best throws in each event, at the OFSAA West regional track and field meet, at TD Stadium. Katie Beaudry, of Dorchester, is also a double qualifier, finishing second in the senior women's 400-metre hurdles, a day after placing second in high jump. East Elgin Secondary's Oakley Potter, in junior men's javelin, Parkside's Jared Parkin, in midget men's discus and Dorchester's Victoria Quance, in junior women's pole vault, each placed fourth in their respective events, on day two of the regional meet. Over the two days at the regional meet, 10 athletes including a relay team, from Dorchester and Elgin County schools, placed in the top four, qualifying for OFSAA, June 1-3, in Belleville.

TILLSONBURG, ON. – The Parkside Stampeders head into the TVRA playoffs on the heels of another tournament win. The Stampeders only allowed one goal over three games, winning the Gemini Cup, beating London South 6-1 in the final. Parkside
also went undefeated winning a tournament in Welland.
“It was a great opportunity to give the players some playing time in a few positions on the field,” Parkside coach Gerry Safadi said. “The further we are able to go into the playoffs the more important it will be for each player to contribute and sometimes it may mean playing a position
that is different for them.” Safadi adds the Stampeders are a young team, but eight tournament games and five league games (all wins) have allowed everyone to be comfortable playing together.

LONDON, ON. – Parkside Stampeders' midget team had
several solid results, at the Forest City Mustang track and field meet, at Western University.
Anij Sparenburg won midget girls' javelin (23.33 metres) and placed second in discus (20.17m), while Jared Parkin won the midget boys' discus (39.21m) and finished fifth in shot put.
Michael Roth finished second in both the midget boys' 100 (11.96 seconds) and 200-metre (24.39 sec.) races.

Seven athletes combined for 10 top five results in throwing events, javelin, discus and shot put, at the Titan/Crusader Invitational track and field meet, at Regina Mundi Catholic College. Anij Sparenberg won both the midget girls’ shot put with a winning heave of 22.9 metres and discus with a toss of 26.74m. Jared Parkin was first in the midget boys’ discus (38.58 metres), while Chase Cookson won the midget boys javelin (44.30m) and placed second in discus (45.24m). Joseph Gillespie finished third in junior boys discus, while Mack Watson was third in midget boys’ discus and fifth in javelin and Jackson Medeiros, sixth, senior javelin.
Payton Brodie had the second farthest throw in senior girls’ javelin.

WINDSOR, ON - Mac Watson is an OFSAA double medalist. The 13-year old student at Parkside CI won two medals at the OFSAA swimming championships, setting personal best times in both finals. In his first race, Watson won a silver medal in the 14 and under boys’ junior high school 50-metre free, touching the wall in 26.15 seconds. A bronze medal followed, in the 14 and under boys’ junior high school 100-metre free, lowering his fastest time to 58.54 seconds.

BRAMPTON, ON. – Meredith Woodhouse finishes her high school career with a medal of each colour from OFSAA. Woodhouse advanced to her second consecutive OFSAA gold medal final in the girls’ 64-kilogram class, but was out-matched by Nyla Burgess of Pickering High. The St. Joseph’s athlete was the top result for St. Thomas schools, at the provincial high school wrestling championships, held at the Powerade Centre. Parkside Stampeder Cobie Gregory finished fourth in the girls' 44-kg division.

ST. THOMAS – Bloodied and almost defeated Payton Brodie could have thrown in the towel. Instead the Parkside Stampeder took that towel to wipe her bloody nose and despite facing an 8-0 deficit, returned to the ring. A few minutes later, Brodie stood as the WOSSAA gold medal champion in the girls' 61-kg class.

Watson was first in the high school division under-14 boys 50-metre butterfly
(29.81 seconds), 100-metre free (1:00.74) and 50-metre free (27.05 sec.).
Competitors had to meet qualifying times to advance to the WOSSAA meet, hosted
again at the Centre, on February 16. Parkside, St. Joseph’s, Lord Dorchester and
East Elgin Secondary, all had swimmers move on to WOSSAA.

ST. THOMAS - The Parkside Stampeders hosted an invitational girls’ volleyball tournament on home court and schooled the opposition. Both the Stampeders’ senior and junior teams took the gold medals. The senior Stampeders defeated London Clarke Road, 25-16, 25-15, in their final, completing a 9-2 record, after edging the West Elgin Wildcats in the semi-finals, two games to one. In junior action, Parkside got by London Laurier, 25-19, 25-23, for a 10-1 overall run. The semis saw Parkside defeat Clarke Road, while Laurier eliminated London Westminster.

ST. THOMAS - Led by captain and middle Ally Carr, the Parkside Stampeders improved to 2-0, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics South division, dropping the East Elgin Eagles, 25-15, 25-17, 25-23, at Parkside CI. The Stampeders finished first in the South the past two seasons, with the West Elgin Wildcats finishing second both times. Leading the Stampeders this season are Carr, Lauren Donker, Haley Summers and setter Holly Thomson.

ST. THOMAS – Clayton Sturk is Mr. Volleyball, for the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South-East Division. Sturk helped the Parkside Stampeders win the TVRA South-East senior boys' AAA title and advance to the WOSSAA final. Sturk, along with Cooper Van Vlaanderen (East Elgin), Patrick Acres (West Elgin), Nathyn Smeets (St. Joe’s) and Jacob Nevilll (Arthur Voaden), were selected for the TVRA boys' all-star volleyball game.

LONDON, ON - Ryan Asher scored the winning points, on a third quarter 16-yard run, as the Parkside Stampeders edged the Medway Cowboys, 9-6, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Junior consolation football final, at TD Stadium. Medway opened the scoring before the hot chocolate cups were opened, on a 90-yard kick-off return to start the first quarter. Parkside compiled a 7-2 overall record this season, losing twice by one point.

ST. THOMAS –
Teams from St. Thomas - Elgin County and
Dorchester high schools, brought home six medals from the WOSSAA tournaments for girls
basketball and boys volleyball.
Lord Dorchester was the lone champion, winning the senior girls A basketball
championship, defeating St. Marys DCVI, 47-38.
The Parkside Stampeders made the senior girls’ AA basketball final, but lost to
London Mother Teresa, 48-33.
At triple A basketball, the East Elgin Eagles won the bronze medal game at both
the senior and junior levels. The senior Eagles beat London CCH, 42-30, after
losing to London Lucas, 64-29, in their semi-final. Lucas features Sarah
Donavan, who recently signed a letter of intent to attend Davidson College.
In volleyball, the Parkside Stampeders were AA silver medalists, losing the
final to host Stratford Central.
East Elgin captured the bronze medal in AAA action, in a three game sweep of
London CCH. The Eagles lost to the eventual champions, London Saunders, in the
semi-finals.
The West Elgin Wildcats also took home bronze, dusting St. Marys DCVI, in three
games, at the 'A' tournament.

AYLMER, ON - That big zero is the number of times the East Elgin Eagles, senior and junior teams combined, lost during the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) campaign. Both completed 12-0 seasons, by winning their respective TVRA South-East final, today, at East Elgin Secondary school. The senior Eagles capped their perfect run, defeating the Parkside Stampeders, 41-23. The junior Eagles duplicated the feat, downing Woodstock C.I, 33-24.

ST. THOMAS - Nicole Carnegie scored a game high 16 points as the Parkside Stampeders downed the Central Elgin Titans, 48-35, securing second place in the Thames Valley Region South Division, in senior girls' basketball.

LONDON, ON - Shea Frayne and Payten Lang potted goals, to lift the Goderich Vikings over the Parkside Stampeders, 2-1, in the WOSSAA girls' field hockey final, at City Wide Fields. Goderich moves on to the OFSAA championship for the third consecutive season. The Vikings were provincial silver medalists last year. Braelyn Dennis scored for Parkside.

LONDON, ON. - The St. Joseph’s Rams came up big, winning the overall girls, senior girls and senior boys team titles, at the Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) cross country championships, held at Springbank Park. The overall banner is a first for the St. Thomas school. The senior boys and senior girls now head for OFSAA, the provincial meet, Saturday November 5, in Port Hope.

NILESTOWN, ON. - An injured toe failed to prevent Jaxon Nolte from leading Dorchester's midget boys to a team title at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics Tri-County cross country championships. Nolte won the midget boys race, which featured a 1-2-3 finish for Dorchester.

LONDON, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders seem built for the turf at City Wide Field. Speedy with quick transition the Stampeders' field hockey team is the class of the TVRAA field hockey league with a 10-0 record.
