Dorchester 11U provincial champs

BRACEBRIDGE, Ont. - A provincial title caps an amazing season for the Dorchester U11 B Diamondbacks. Dorchester won gold, defeating Simcoe, 9-5, in the Ontario Baseball Association U11 B final this morning. The Diamondbacks finish the tournament with a 6-1 record, the lone blemish a 8-6 loss to Simcoe on Sunday. The loss was just one of only five all season, along with three ties. Along the way, Dorchester won the London and District playoffs and three tournaments, St. Thomas Cardinal Classic, Dorchester Summer Slam and London Talons. At Dorchester, the Simcoe Giants stood tall over host Dorchester, with a 17-7 in the 14U B final, this morning at Royal Field.

Two D-backs teams in provincial finals

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Two Dorchester Diamondbacks team have advanced to Ontario Baseball Association finals. Dorchester faces the Simcoe Giants, in the 14U B final, Monday 10 a.m. at Royal Field. The D-backs advanced to the final, edging St. Marys, 14-13, Sunday evening. Dorchester was 4-0 before falling to Simcoe, 11-5, Sunday afternoon. At Bracebridge in the 11U B championship, it is also a Dorchester - Simcoe final, Monday at 10 a.m. Again, the only team to beat Dorchester is Simcoe, with a 8-6 win this afternoon. The D-backs squeezed by Leamington to advance to the final.

D-backs 3-0 at 11U B baseball provincials

BRACEBRIDGE, Ont. - The Dorchester Diamondbacks head into day three of the Ontario Baseball Association 11U B championship, with a 3-0 record.Dorchester shutout Welland, 10-0, to improve to 3-0 for Sunday's action.
Earlier in the tournament, the D-backs shelled Georgina, 18-0 and snuck by the St. Thomas Cardinals, 6-5. St. Thomas no-hit Northumberland, 15-0, but after losing to Dorchester, the Cardinals fell to Waterdown, 10-2, to be eliminated.

Host D-backs undefeated at 14U B provincials

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Host Dorchester Diamondbacks remain undefeated at the Ontario Baseball Association 14U B championship. Dorchester beat Lakeshore, 9-4, Saturday evening improving to 3-0 going in to day three of the tournament Sunday.
The D-backs opened with a 15-5 mercy of Kawartha on Friday and got by St Marys, 14-11, this afternoon. The St. Thomas Cardinals were eliminated losing to St. Marys, 27-15 and Kawartha, 10-8.

16U Diamondbacks walk off tourney win

WOODSLEE, Ont. - Andres Lagos delivered a RBI single in the bottom of seventh and final inning, lifting the Dorchester Diamondbacks over the Essex Yellowjackets, 10-9, Sunday in the final of the 16U tournament. Lagos finished three for three and drew a base on balls. Both Lagos and Bryson Pettit had two RBI. In the semifinals, Evan Stevens tossed a complete game five hitter over seven innings, striking out seven batters and walking just one, as Dorchester defeated LaSalle Titans, 8-2.

U18 Diamondbacks win Pringles tournament

ORILLIA, Ont. - Still early in the 2023 baseball season but the Dorchester Rep '06 Diamondbacks are already tournament champions. Dorchester won the Buck Pringle tournament May 19-21 in Orillia, defeating the Guelph Royals, 3-1, in the U18 final.

Players display skills at MLB Pitch, Hit and Run

THORNDALE, ON. -  Two dozen players, a majority representing Dorchester minor baseball, tested their skills in pitching accuracy, hitting power and accuracy and base running speed, at a MLB Pitch, Hit and Run local competition.

Dorchester's run ends early at OBA minor mosquito provincials

DORCHESTER -  Teams from Dorchester are at their respective Ontario Baseball Association provincial tournaments this weekend. The Woodslee O's eliminated the Dorchester Diamondbacks, at the minor mosquito B provincials. Dorchester's minor peewee team went 1-2.

Pitchers deliver Dorchester a major mosquito Slam title

DORCHESTER -  Led by a six hit, 13 strikeout combined performance by pitchers Colin Langstaff and Ryker Daniel, the Dorchester Diamondbacks defeated the North Toronto A's, 7-2, in the major mosquito final, at the Dorchester Summer Slam baseball tournament. Langstaff went four innings, striking out seven batters, while Daniel sat down six batters over three innings.
North Toronto opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning. Dorchester cut the deficit in half in the third inning, before pulling ahead 3-2 in the fourth. The Diamondbacks took control with a three run fifth inning and then tacked on a run in the seventh.

Dorchester opens Summer Slam with a rout

DORCHESTER -  The Dorchester Diamondbacks won their opening game, at the Summer Slam tournament, minor mosquito division, crushing Oshawa, 26-4. The event goes today to Sunday, with teams from far away as Toronto and Mt. Forest

Ivy stings Mississauga for Ontario mosquito title

DORCHESTER -  They weren't quite poison ivy with no one wanting to touch, but for the Ivy Leafs, no one could touch them on the diamond. The Ivy Leafs ran the table on their way to a Select Ontario Baseball Association mosquito provincial title.
