BRANTFORD, Ont. - St. Thomas Jr Stars are Alliance Hockey Constellation U10 champions. Three third period goals lifted the Jr. Stars to a 3-0 shutout of the Woodstock Jr Navy Vets in the final, this afternoon at the Gretzky Sports Centre. Tye Thompson, Malcolm Travis and Mason Friesen scored, while Brooke Gustavson picked up two assists. Goalie Noah Menlove picked up the shutout. Backup keeper Alex Annett spotted Menlove for 51 seconds in the third period, after Menlove skated to the bench celebrating the Stars' second goal. St. Thomas went 4-0 over the three day championship. Gustavson led St. Thomas with six goals and three assists for nine points. Friesen had two goals and five assists and Travis, four goals and an assist.

LONDON, Ont. - The St. Thomas Jr. Stars sent a message. They are still alive. The Jr. Stars routed the London Jr. Knights White, 7-0, to extend the Alliance League AA Constellation U16final to a fourth game. London leads the six point series, four points to two, with game four game. Alex Medeiros, with two goals, Rhys Stewart shorthanded, AJ Power, Sam Taylor, Bowman Mercer and Sam Taylor scored. Goalie Darren Hagerty had the shutout. Cooper Ilczyszyn, aka Soupy, picked up three assists.

ST. THOMAS - The London Jr. Knights White have struck first in the final. Four second period goals carried the Jr. Knights White to a 4-3 win, in game one of the Alliance League AA U16 Constellation six point championship tonight at Memorial Arena.
St. Thomas led 1-0 after one period on a goal from Bowman Mercer.
London tied the game in the opening minute of the second period and jumped ahead 3-1, striking twice in two minutes, once on the power play. The Jr. Knights White made it 4-1 during a five-on-three man advantage.
Rhys Smart and AJ Power brought the Stars back to within a goal in the third period. Stephen Burnett had two goals and two assists for London. Gage Landren, with a goal and two assists and Chase Muir, also scored for the Jr. Knights White.
London ends the Jr. Stars' playoff win streak at six games.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Jr. Stars are going for an Alliance League title. The Jr Stars have made quick work of the Woodstock Jr Navy Vets, winning the six point AA semifinal in three games. Sam Taylor scored a hat trick, while Matt Zylstra and Cooper Ilczyrzyn, both had a goal and two assists, as St. Thomas finished off Woodstock with 9-1 rout, Tuesday at the Joe. The Jr Stars outscored Woodstock, 19-3, in the series.

ST. THOMAS - Brittany Howard shined at the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) All-Star weekend, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, in Toronto. The 27-year old from St. Thomas had a goal and three assists, plus a shootout winner, sharing the lead for most points at the event. In the final, Howard had a goal and an assist, as the Canadian All-Stars beat the World All-Stars, 3-2, January 25.
St. Thomas minor hockey won gold at three silver stick tournaments.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Jr. Stars found themselves in the third period. The Jr. Stars scored six consecutive goals, rallying from down 2-0, to defeat the Dundas Blues, 6-3, in the U13 final, at the St. Thomas Minor Hockey Association Major tournament, at the Joe. Ryder Doxtator, with two goals, Ronan Davidson, Leonardo Circelli, Nash Adams and Jackson Benoit, scored for the home team, who went 6-0-0 in the tournament.

ST. THOMAS - Coming in to the decisive game six, the home team had not won a game. The St. Thomas Jr. Stars ended that trend, with a 5-2 win over the Cambridge Hawks, taking the Alliance U12 A/AA Bristol playdown semifinal, seven points to five, Tuesday, at the Joe. After the teams tied the opening game, the road team won each of the next four games. Cutler Jones with a hat trick, Nash Adams and Charlie Matsos, scored for the Stars.

ST. THOMAS - The Barrie Jr. Colts may just be starting to have nightmares about visiting St. Thomas. For the second year in a row, the St. Thomas Millcreek Plumbing Jr. Stars captured an Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) championship on home ice, defeating Barrie in both finals, this year for the bantam A title. Ashton Ivanyshyn, Aiden Shaw and Braylen Dowson scored as St. Thomas blanked Barrie, 3-0, in game five of the six point series, at Memorial arena. Goalie Will Richardson stopped all rubber shot his way for his biggest shutout of his career, leading the Jr. Stars to a six points to four victory in the final.

ORILLIA, ON. - The St. Thomas Jr. Stars are Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) minor peewee A champions. St. Thomas completed a six point to zero series sweep of the Orillia Terriers, with a 6-0 win Saturday in Orillia. The Jr. Stars took first two games, 6-1 and 3-0 on home ice last weekend. Matthew Soares with two goals, Kaleb Levesque, Owen Lawrence, Ryan Willmore and AJ Power, scored for St. Thomas. The core of the team coached by Andrew Power have now won three OMHA titles in a row, starting with minor atom in 2017 and atom a year ago.

ST. THOMAS - It is the annual event that closes out the calender year for local sports in the Railway City. The St. Thomas Minor Hockey Association Centennial Sport Club's Christmas House League tournament occurs between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve day every year. The 2018 edition features Initiation, tyke, atom and peewee divisions. In the Atom final, Hudson Rose assisted on all five goals, as the Green Battalion dumped the Red Blackhawks, 5-1. Tytin McLellan and Michael Carroll both scored twice for the Green Battalion, while Blake Trears had one goal.

ST. THOMAS - Three St. Thomas Jr. Stars' teams advanced from their pools including the peewee team, at the Boston Pizza Cup major tournament, with games played at the Joe Thornton Community Centre, Memorial arena and in Aylmer. The tournament featured 40 teams from across the province, in novice, atom, peewee, bantam and midget divisions. The peewee Stars blanked the Woolwich Wildcats, 2-0, in the semifinals, before falling to the Owen Sound Attack, 5-1, in the final.

ETOBICOKE, ON. - It may the toughest loss of the past two seasons. The St. Thomas Jr. Stars watched as Willowdale Blackhawks' Michael Egnatis scored his second goal of the game, 4:51 into overtime, for a 4-3 win, completing a comeback in the OHF Atom A semifinal. St. Thomas led 3-0 after one period, on a pair of goals from Mason Burns and an unassisted effort by Sam Taylor. Willowdale scored twice in the first 30 seconds of the second period, to make it 3-2. Mathew Zystra gave the Stars a two goal cushion entering the third period, but the Blackhawks rallied to tie. St. Thomas won the OMHA A championship last month. A year ago, a majority of the players were part of the Jr. Stars' minor atom A OMHA title team.

ETOBICOKE, ON. - Thanks to depth scoring the St. Thomas Jr. Stars remain undefeated at the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) atom A championship. The Jr. Stars finished the round robin at 4-0, earning a spot in the semifinals, on Sunday morning. On day two of the three day tournament, St. Thomas defeated the West Mall Lightning, 8-1 and Willowdale Blackhawks, 7-4. St. Thomas faces Willowdale again, this time in a semifinal, at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The forward scored both game winning goals, as the St. Thomas Jr. Stars opened the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) atom A championship with a pair of victories. St. Thomas was shorthanded, when Metzger potted the go ahead goal against the Woodstock Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets, on route to a tournament opening 4-2 win.

Trent Rickwood had two goals, including the winner, as the St. Thomas celebrated an OMHA minor bantam A championship, defeating the Barrie Jr. Colts, 4-3, in the sixth game of the six point final, at the Timken Centre. Tied at four points each after four games, St. Thomas and Barrie tied game five, 1-1, setting up a rare sixth encounter.

By hanging on for a 3-2 win, the St. Thomas Jr. Stars have extended their Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) minor bantam A final, against the Barrie Jr. Colts.
The six point final is tied at four points, with game five at Barrie, Saturday, March 31.
St. Thomas built a 3-0 early second period, but Barrie pulled to within a goal scoring twice in the third period. Braylen Dowson, Liam Kidder and Aiden Shaw buried pucks for the Jr. Stars.

ST. THOMAS – It was wide open fire wagon hockey in game one of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) Atom A final. A four goal explosion in the 10 minute first period, propelled the St. Thomas Jr. Stars to a 7-4 win, over the Innisfil Winterhawks, in the opening game of the six point series. Ryan Willmore had two goals and two assists, for St. Thomas, while AJ Power and Sam Taylor, also scored twice. Liam Metzger found the back of the net, just 23 seconds into the game to ignite the offensive fireworks.

THOMAS – Four goals in the opening five minutes of the game carried Maxwell's Foto Source to a 6-2 win against Al's Pizzeria, in the peewee final, at the St. Thomas Minor Hockey Association Christmas house league tournament, at the Timken Centre. Brandon Piekny, Maddoc Macnamara, Matthew Piekny and Isaac Rohrer, with his first of two goals, scored in the first period, as Maxwell's shot out to a 4-0 lead.

In St. Thomas for Rogers Hometown Hockey, MacLean and Slone were on hand for the ceremonial puck drop, prior to
the St. Thomas Jr. Stars defeating the London Mustangs, 5-3, in the minor bantam final,
at the host city's minor and AE hockey tournament. The Jr. Stars finished with a 5-0 record.

AJ Power had a pair of goals and one assist, as St. Thomas dumped the Quinte West Hawks, 6-2, in the atom final,
at the St. Thomas Minor Hockey Association major tournament, at the Timken Centre.
Owen Lawrence, Mathew Zylstra, Kaleb Levesque and Sam Taylor, also scored for the Jr. Stars.
St. Thomas went 4-0 in pool play, outscoring their opponents, 28-3. Quinte West was no slouch dominating their pool, allowing no goals in four wins.
The Jr. Stars are now 10-0 in tournament play, winning at Ajax earlier this month.

own.
Led by a four goal performance from Sam Taylor, the St. Thomas Jr. Stars burned
the Uxbridge Stars, 7-1, to win the Ontario Minor Hockey Association minor atom
'A' six point series, 6-4, at the Timken Centre. Mathew Zylstra, Liam Metzger
and Matthew Masschaele, with an empty net short-handed goal, completed the Jr.
Stars' scoring.
St. Thomas won the opener to the series, 3-2, before Uxbridge won back to back
games. The Jr. Stars tied the affair at four points a side, with a 6-1 win at
Uxbridge on March 19.
