Imperials win season opener

AYLMER, Ont. - Kaidyn Skillings and Emily Taylor-Bond scored as the Elgin Imperials won their Ontario Sledge Hockey season opener blanking the London Blizzard, 2-0, at the East Elgin Community Centre. Goalie John Stevenson picked up the shutout.

Imperials Ontario Parasport Games champs

WHITBY, Ont. - The golden ride continues for the Elgin Imperials. Elgin completed an undefeated run at the Ontario Parasport Games, winning the sledge hockey gold game, 4-0, over Kawartha Blazers, today at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre.
Ryan Whittle scored twice and Wes Shaw and Bryan Lidster, had a goal each, while goalie John Stevenson picked up the shutout. The Imperials went 5-0, winning pool games, 5-0, 4-1, 3-1 and 3-0.

Imperials win London tourney

LONDON, Ont. - Travis Topping scored 11 goals and goalie John Stevenson posted a .067 goals-against average, as the Elgin Imperials completed a 6-0 run, to win the Open C division, at the Blizzard Invitational sledge hockey tournament Sunday at Western Fair Sports Centre. Topping, Wesley Shaw and Ryan Whittle, with the game winner, scored in a 3-1 victory over provincial rival Woolwich, in the final. It is the first time the Imperials have won gold.

Elgin knots up Woolwich

AYLMER, Ont. - Wesley Shaw scored as the Elgin Imperials tied Woolwich Thrashers at one, in their home opener to the Ontario Sledge Hockey Association season, today, at the East Elgin Community Center. Goalie John Stevenson had a stellar game keeping Woolwich to a single goal. Elgin plays in the OSHA Open West Division.

Elgin Imperials win tourney

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Travis Topping and Randy Brown netted pucks, as the Elgin Imperials blanked Woolwich, 2-0, in the Open Division final, today, at the Cruisers Cup. Goalie John Stevenson had back to back shutouts as the Imperials silenced Montreal, 1-0, in the semifinals. Bryan Lidster had the lone goal.

Elgin Imperials win OSHA Open A gold

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Travis Topping and Wes Shaw each had two goals, leading the Elgin Imperials to the Open A gold medal, defeating Mississauga Cruisers, 5-2, at the Ontario sledge hockey provincial championships.
For the second consecutive game, Kaidyn Skillings, who also picked up two assists, broke a 2-2 tie in the second period, for the eventual game winning goal.

Elgin Imperials advance to OSHA Open A final

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Travis Topping and Wes Shaw both scored twice, to lead the Elgin Imperials over the Sarnia Ice Hawks, 5-2, in an Open A semifinal, at the Ontario sledge hockey provincial championships. Kaidyn Skilling had the game winner, breaking a 2-2 tie in the second half. Shane Northey picked up his first goalie win.

Elgin Imperials break Sledgehammers

AYLMER, Ont. - Kaidyn Skillings had a hat trick and Emily Taylor-Bond, potted two goals, as the Elgin Imperials smashed the Hamilton Sledgehammers, 9-0, in Ontario sledge hockey action, at the East Elgin Community Centre. Wesley Shaw, Travis Topping, Nick Heighington and Shane Northey, with his first career goal, rounded out the scoring. Nolan Betts, Randy Brown and Kevin Shaw, each picked up two assists.

AYLMER, Ont. - Travis Topping scored and goalie John Stevenson stopped all shots, as the Elgin Imperials blanked the London Blizzards, 1-0, in Ontario sledge hockey action, at the East Elgin Community Centre.
Nolan Betts and Shane Northley, picked up assists.

Skillings scores twice in Elgin Imperials win

HAMILTON, ON. - Kaidyn Skilling scored twice and Wes Shaw buried one puck, as the Elgin Imperials defeated the Hamilton Sledgehammers, 3-1, in Ontario sledge hockey action today, for their first win of the season.
