AYLMER, Ont. - Megan Murray with two goals and Kensley Rundle scored, leading the St. Thomas Panthers to a 3-0 blanking of the Belmont Aylmer Dorchester (BAD) Blazers in U13C action. Goalie Caroline Rodgers had the shutout.

U18 Panthers dominate home opener

ST. THOMAS - Six different players scored as the St. Thomas Panthers won their U18BB home opener defeating the Windsor Wildcats, 6-1, today at the Joe. Addison Korpan, Callie Crow, Anna Muscat, Allie Tales, Payton Lessard and Audrey Ferguson scored.
In September, the Panthers won two tournaments, at Markham and their own Big Cat in St. Thomas.

Panthers capture two gold at Big Cat Showdown

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Panthers captured two gold medals at their Big Cat Showdown. The three day six division tournament, one of the first events of the 2023-24 girls hockey season, featured 28 teams, from as far away as Whitby, Clarington and Collingwood.
St. Thomas won the U11BB and U18A divisions and took silver in U15B.

U18BB Panthers open season winning tournament

MARKHAM, Ont. - The St. Thomas U18BB Panthers opened the 2023-24 hockey season with a tournament win. Allie Tales and Payton Lessard scored as the Panthers blanked Markham, 2-0, in the final, with goalie Lauren Marcy picking up the shutout.
Over the three day tournament, the Panthers had a record of six wins, one loss and a tie.

Senior Blazers advance to OWHA final 

TORONTO, Ont. - The Belmont Aylmer Dorchester (BAD) Blazers are going for gold in the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) provincial Senior B division. The Blazers, 5-0, blanked the Cornwall, 5-0, this morning in the semifinals, after winning a wild 8-4 quarterfinal against the London Wheelers Saturday night. BAD Girls take on Twin Centre in the final this afternoon. The Senior B Blazers were one of four teams from BAD Girls and the St. Thomas Panthers, to advance from pool play to the quarterfinals. The Blazers' U15AA were edged, 2-1, by the Sudbury Lady Wolves, in their quarterfinal.
Both the St. Thomas U11BB and U13A teams lost in the quarterfinals. Bluewater blanked the U11BB Panthers, 2-0, while the Windsor Wildcats shutout the U13A Panthers, 1-0. Mya Hepburn and Rechelle Kuiper, from Elgin County, playing with the Bluewater Hawks, are in the OWHA U18A final

Two Panthers teams in OWHA quarters 

TORONTO, Ont. - Two St. Thomas Panthers and two Belmont Aylmer Dorchester (BAD) Blazers' teams are heading to Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) provincial quarterfinals. Both the Blazers Senior B and U15AA teams advanced from their pools. The Senior B Blazers are 3-0, with just one goal allowed, beating Belleville Bearcats, 2-0, Scarborough Sharks, 4-1 and Brampton Canadettes, 7-0. The U15 AA Blazers went 2-1 in pool play. Lilia Hunter, Pressley Stephenson and Mylie Ellis scored in the Blazers' 3-1 defeat of the North Halton Twisters. Payton Biser and Lilia Hunter scored in a 2-0 shutout of the Barrie Sharks. Ottawa shutout the Blazers, 3-0.
St. Thomas has their U11BB and U13A teams moving on from pool play. The U11BB Panthers never allowed a goal over three pool games, blanking Central York 6-0 , Gloucester, 4-0 and Burlington, 6-0. The U13A Panthers defeated Sault Ste Marie, 6-1, tied Oakville at one and fell to Central York, 3-1.
Just missing a quarterfinal berth were the U18BB Panthers, with a 1-1-1 record, edging Toronto Leaside Wildcats, 3-2, tying Oakville at two, but were blanked by Orillia, 1-0. The U18C Panthers were winless, falling to Orangeville, 2-0, Ilderton, 5-0 and Gloucester Cumberland, 3-0. The U13C Blazers dropped all three pool games, losing 1-0, to Chatsworth, 6-0 to South Huron and 4-0 to Smith Falls.

Panthers capture WOGHL U9HL title

ST. MARYS, Ont. - The St. Thomas Panthers are Western Ontario Girls Hockey (WOGHL) U9HL champs. Brice Noels, Lennon Kivisto and Allie 'Gator' Harvey scored as the Panthers beat South Huron, 3-1, in the final. St. Thomas went 5-0 over the three day league final tournament.

Panthers well represented at All-Star game 

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Panthers and BAD Blazers were well represented at the WOGHL all-star games. Shelby Laidlaw wins a provincial title with the London Jr. Devilettes and the St. Thomas U10 boys place fourth at their Ontario Cup.   
Plus West Lorne Comets, Siena Begeman, Aiden Coles, Tayah DeSousa and Josh Niles.

Panthers win tourney gold and silver

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas U9HL Panthers finished the season winning the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League playoff tournament with an undefeated record. At Hamilton Sunday, the U13A Panthers brought home silver. The Panthers fell 2-1 in overtime, to Guelph in the final, during three-on-three play. The U15HL Panthers advanced to the semifinals at the tournament in St. Catherines.

UllBB Panthers allow no goals winning tourney

HAMILTON, Ont. - Allowing not one goal sure does make winning easier. The St. Thomas U11BB Panthers silenced all five of their opponents, while scoring 22 goals to win the Hamilton Hawks tournament. St. Thomas blanked Saugeen Shores, 1-0, in the final.

Panthers blanked in U11HL final

KOMOKA, Ont. - The St. Thomas Panthers had to settle for runnerup in the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League (WOGHL) U11HL division. The Woodstock Wildcats shutout the Panthers, 3-0, in the U11HL final today. Scoreless after two periods the Wildcats broke open for three goals in the third period. Charlotte Roy with two goals and Avery O'Leary scored.

OT win takes Panthers to U11HL final

MOORETOWN, Ont. - Erika Bartlet scored in overtime after Liv Jordan tied the game, with five minutes remaining in the third period, as the St. Thomas Panthers edged Mooretown Lady Flags, 2-1, in a Western Ontario Girls Hockey League U11 semifinal Saturday. The Panthers won the game with just seven skaters and one goalie. St. Thomas takes on Woodstock Wildcats White, in the WOGHL Division three final, Wednesday in Komoka. Sydney Orchard, Sammy Lee and Sophie Illing, played in the WOGHL U11 all-star game Sunday in Milverton.

Panthers send 16 to WOGHL all-star game

MILVERTON, Ont. - St. Thomas Panthers will be skating in five Western Ontario Girls Hockey League (WOGHL) all-star games. Samantha Lee, defenceman Sophie Illing and forward Sydney Orchard are in the U11HLL game and forwards Harper Lee, Harleigh Jones and defenceman Beatrice Wilson, in the U11C game. Repping the Panthers in the U13C game are defenceman Isabel Rodgers and forward Raya Therrian and in the U15C game are goalie Sydney Woodford and forwards Claire Caslick and Ellie Therrian. Goalie Shenae Zamora, defenceman Avery Lister and forwards Grace Dailey and Crimsyn Coffin, skate in the U18C game.

U13A Panthers blank Barracudas

BURLINGTON, Ont. - Ava Todd scored and goalie Paige McMahon posted the shutout as the St. Thomas Panthers blanked the Burlington Barracudas, 1-0, in game three of the Southern Division U13A semifinal. St. Thomas improves to 1-1-1 in the three team six game semifinal, while Burlington has two ties with their first loss. Both teams play Woolwich again, the Barracudas on Sunday and the Panthers, Tuesday, March 28.

Panthers battle Barracudas to U13A tie

AYLMER, Ont. - The St. Thomas Panthers made Burlington Barracudas' goalie Penny Wager the busiest player on the ice. The Panthers out shot and out chanced the Barracudas in the third period but settled for a 1-1 draw, in game two for both teams in the Southern League U13A semifinal at the East Elgin Community Centre. Piper Summerville gave Burlington a 1-0 first period lead. Tegan Dunn tied the affair in the second period. The teams meet again Saturday in Burlington. In the three team semifinal, the Panthers have a tie and a 2-0 loss to Woolwich, while Burlington has a pair of ties.

Panthers take 3-1 lead U11BB final

ST. THOMAS - In a battle of the cats the St. Thomas Panthers hold the advantage. Lacey Thomson and Kayla Clarke scored, while goalie Bella Dutra made a number blocker and gloves saves, as the Panthers blanked the Windsor Wildcats, 2-0, in game two of their OWHA Southern League division U11BB final, Monday at Memorial arena. St. Thomas leads the four point series, three to one, with the third and final game at Windsor Wednesday. The teams tied game one, 1-1, in Windsor.

Four Panthers teams head to OWHAs

ST. THOMAS - Four St. Thomas Panthers teams are heading to the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) provincial championships next month. The U11BB, U13A, U18C and U18BB Panthers have earned a berth at their respective tournaments. Still alive in Southern League playoffs, are the U11BB and U13A Panthers.
Lacey Thomson, from Neela Holmes, had the U11BB Panthers' goal in a 1-1 tie with the Windsor Wildcats, in game one of their division final, today in Windsor. The U13A Panthers were blanked 2-0, on home ice by the Woolwich Wild, today in the opening game of their division semifinal.

11C Panthers win gold on Fife OT winner

TORONTO, Ont. - Already excited from being on their first overnight trip, the St. Thomas U11C Panthers made the weekend more memorable by winning gold. Lily Fife on a end to end rush, netted the puck upstairs with 14 seconds remaining in overtime, to lift the Panthers to a 2-1 win over the Kitchener Lady Rangers, in the final at the Leaside March Break Madness tournament March 10-12.

ST. THOMAS - It is provincial championship bound for the St. Thomas U18 BB Panthers. Audrey Ferguson, Riley Cipu, Ramona Reid and Sasha Brown, with the game winner, scored as the Panthers defeated the Bluewater Hawks, 4-2, in an Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) play-down game Saturday at the Joe.

Panthers U11BB U13C win gold

ST. THOMAS - Over 40 teams in eight divisions on three ice pads, were shooting pucks during the Panthers on the Prowl tournament, for three days over the weekend. The host club made two finals, winning U11BB gold, defeating Haldimand Rivercats, 2-1 and losing the U13C final, to the Kitchener Rangers, 3-1. Tillsonburg Lightning edged St. Thomas in the U18C semifinals, 2-1, before defeating Ilderton Jets, 3-1, in the final.

U18BB Panthers silver 

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The St. Thomas U18BB Panthers brought home silver from the St. Catharines Brock Badgers tournament. The Panthers went 4-0, before falling to Toronto Leaside, in the final.
Allie Tales and Anna Muscat led the Panthers with two goals and three assists each, over the five games. Brooklyn Hewitt had a pair of goals and Reese Robichaud, picked up four assists.

STRATHROY, Ont. - The St. Thomas Panthers made sure they were bringing home a title. Andie Dekker scored twice and goalie Caroline Rogers was perfect, as the Panthers blanked the Bluewater Hawks, 5-0, to capture the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League U11 HL title. Samantha Lee, Austen Goebel and Ivee Benwell, also scored.

ST. THOMAS - They went didn't win a game in three round robin U18 B games, but the St. Thomas Panthers turned it around for the playoff portion of the tournament. The U18 Panthers was the lone host team to win their division at the Panthers on the Prowl tournament, this weekend in St. Thomas and Aylmer. Tessa Pellerine scored, while goalie Rachel Annett had the shutout.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Panthers are having a face mask fundraiser, to help support hockey operations for the girls' hockey organization. Purchases support the Panthers and help encourage players, parents and coaches to wear a mask to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Panthers capture four gold medals at Big Cat Showcase tourney

ST. THOMAS - It was a solid way to start the new girls' hockey season. The St. Thomas Panthers won the midget and bantam A and BB finals, at their Big Cat Preseason Showcase hockey tournament this weekend.
Over the past three days, 40 teams from as far as Ottawa, Buffalo, Detroit and Syracuse, New York, competed in the atom, peewee, bantam and midget divisions.
Host teams made four finals and won each of them. The midget A Panthers blanked Farmington Hills Little Caesers, 1-0, on a goal from Jaimie Giles. The BB midgets shutout the North Durham Blades, 2-0. The host won a battle of two Panthers bantam A teams, 3-1, over Central York. In the bantam BB final, St. Thomas scored twice late to edge the Haldimand River Cats, 2-1.

Midget B Panthers win OWHA bronze via shutout

ST. THOMAS - Patty Henry-Huff may have been feeling unwell but she gave St. Thomas Panthers a good feeling. The Panthers' forward scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over the West Oxford Inferno, in the midget B bronze medal game, at the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) provincial championships, in Toronto, April 5-7th.

ST. THOMAS - Already with an appearance in the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) Midget A provincials secured, the St. Thomas Panthers are aiming to have a spot at the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League (LLFHL) final weekend as well. The Panthers will need to come behind in the LLFHL West Division four point final, after dropping game one, 4-2, to the Windsor Wildcats, Thursday, at the Joe.

Panthers reach Lower Lakes and Western Ontario League finals

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Panthers will take on the Windsor Wildcats in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League West Division Midget A final, starting Thursday, at the Joe. The series winner advances to the six team LLFHL Midget A championship weekend, March 29-31. Windsor has won three of the five previous meetings this season. St. Thomas is 35-9-11 overall this season, including winning two tournaments.
In the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League, St. Thomas C faces Lucan in the Novice group A final, while the Panthers' house league team takes on the Lambton Attack, in the Novice group D flight.

Big Cat tourney prowls in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Panthers hosted the first of two tournaments this season, the Big Cat Preseason Showdown, at the Joe Thornton Centre and East Elgin Community Centre, in Aylmer.
The three day event with nine divisions started Friday, with teams from as far away as Whitby, Sarnia and Buffalo. The host team won two divisions, Midget A and bantam A. The BAD Girls took the bantam B title.

TORONTO, ON. - The St. Thomas Panthers are Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) Novice C provincial champions. The Panthers defeated the Sarnia Lady Sting in the gold medal game, 4-2, after downing the Goulbourn Rockets, by the same score, in a semifinals this morning. The Panthers were 3-0 in pool play, before edging Kemptville, 2-1, in the quarter-finals.

Novice C Panthers go for OWHA provincial gold

TORONTO, ON - The St. Thomas Panthers' novice C team will be playing for a gold medal, at the Ontario Women's Hockey Assocation (OWHA) provincial championships. The Panthers face the Sarnia Lady Sting in the gold medal game, at noon today, after defeating the Goulbourn Rockets, 4-2, in a semifinals this morning. Following a 3-0-0 record in pool play, the Panthers edged Kemptville, 2-1, in the quarter-finals. The Panthers' midget C team blanked the Kanata Rangers in their quarter-final and now play Brockville in the semis this morning.

Schedule & Results

The Panthers had five teams in action at provincials this weekend. The Atom A Panthers, lost 6-3, to Niagara Rapids, in the quarters, while the peewee BB team won their pool with a 2-0-1 record, but lost a playoff game, to the Waterloo Ravens, 1-0. The bantam A Panthers failed to advance from their pool, going winless over three games.

Panthers capture WOGHL Novice Division 1 title

AYLMER, ON. - It is more hardware for their trophy case. The St. Thomas Novice C Panthers grew their wave of momentum towards the Ontario Women's Hockey Association provincial championship, by winning the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League Novice Division One title, defeating the Mitchell Meteors, in the final.
Emma Bovin with two goals, Georgia Cusick and Sadie Payne, scored as St. Thomas took the series in three games, with a 4-1 win, at the East Elgin Community Centre.
Following a 1-1 tie in the opener, the Panthers blanked the Meteors, 2-0, in game two, back-stopped by goalie Brooklyn Smith. Bovin and Karis Beattie scored. are 37-3-3 overall.

Peewee BB Panthers bring home silver from league playoffs

TORONTO, ON. -  At the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League (LLFHL) peewee BB championship, the St. Thomas Panthers head home with silver medals.
In the final, the Woolwich Wild blanked the Panthers, 2-0. St. Thomas went 3-1-1 in the six team division, defeating Napanee, Etobicoke and Stoney Creek, tying Barrie and losing to Woolwich, 1-0. Woolwich never allowed a goal over six wins.

Peewee BB Panthers start playoff weekend 2-0

TORONTO, ON. -  The St. Thomas peewee BB Panthers were 2-0, on day one of the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League championship weekend. St. Thomas blanked the Napanee Crunch, 2-0 and the Etobicoke Dolphins, 2-0. Their five game round robin continues Saturday with games against Stoney Creek and Barrie, before concluding on Sunday versus Woolwich.
The top two teams advance to the gold medal game.

Shutouts keep piling up for peewee BB Panthers

AYLMER, ON. -  It is 28 and counting, for the number of shutouts the St. Thomas peewee BB Panthers have racked up on their opponents this season.
Madeleine Lee had a hat trick and assisted on goals by Gracie Gilchrist and Madelyn Pinnegar, as the Panthers silenced the BAD Blazers, 6-0, in game two of the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League first round series. St. Thomas takes the series in two straight games, after winning game one, 3-2, in St. Thomas, January 27.  St. Thomas finished first in the LLFHL West Division, with a 18-1-3 record and are 37-3-3 overall.

Panthers on the Prowl devour novice C division

ST. THOMAS - Karis Beattie had a trick and Kaydence Thibert scored twice, to lead the St. Thomas Panthers over the Lambeth Lady Lancers, 6-1, in the Novice C final, at the Panthers on the Prowl hockey tournament, at the Timken Centre. Emily Ellis also potted a goal for the Panthers, while Olivia Smith picked up two assists.
The Panthers went undefeated in pool play, with a 3-0 record, before blanking the Ilderton Jets, 4-0, in the semi-finals.

Novice Panthers lead St. Thomas at OWHA provincials

TORONTO - Three St. Thomas Panthers' team advanced to the playoff round, at the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) provincial championships.
The novice C Panthers lost in their bronze medal game, to the North Halton Twisters. The Panthers went 3-0 in their pool, before losing in the semi-finals, 3-1, to Kincardine.
Both the Panthers' bantam B and peewee BB teams, lost their respective quarter-final games. The peewees compiled a 2-0-2 record in pool play, while the bantams were 2-0-1.
St. Thomas also had teams in the senior A, midget C and atom BB divisions.
The BAD (Belmont Aylmer Dorchester) Girls Blazers' peewee BB team was winless in three games, despite allowing only four goals.

Panthers on the Prowl

ST. THOMAS - The three day Panthers on the Prowl tournament concluded today. The annual event this year featured 54 teams, from as far as Kincardine, Port Colborne and Kanata, competing in nine divisions, for novice, atom, peewee, bantam and midget. One of the finals featured the host organization. The St. Thomas Panthers blanked the BAD Girls Blazers, 3-0, in the midget C final, with Brittany Reaume, Leah Fellows and Mackenzie Adams scoring. Bethany Marino picked up the shutout between the pipes.

Kidder trick leads Atom Panthers

ST. THOMAS -  Danica Kidder netted a hat trick and Allie Tales had the game winner, as the St. Thomas Panthers held on to edge the Woodstock Wildcats, 6-5, in Lower Lakes Female Hockey League atom BB action, at the Timken Centre. Madelyn Pinnegar and Jenna Lowe, also scored for St. Thomas Kaitlin Hooydonk had three goals for Woodstock, two coming in the final minute of the third period. Anna Rupert, with two goals and Annalise Longworth, completed the Wildcats' scoring.
