   The annual three day girls' hockey tournament is taking place at the Joe,

ST. THOMAS - Girls hockey has taken over the community.

The annual three day St. Thomas Panthers on the Prowl tournament is occurring at three arenas, the Joe and Memorial in St. Thomas and the East Elgin Community Centre, in Aylmer.

Over 50 teams are competing in 11 divisions, from U11 to U18, including the host St. Thomas Panthers and the Belmont Aylmer Dorchester (BAD) Blazers.

The tournament began early Friday morning and finishes late Sunday afternoon, with 118 games in total.

In the U18B division, the BAD Blazers went 3-0 during the round robin, including doubling up on St. Thomas, 4-2. However, in the semifnals the winless Panthers upended the Blazers, 2-1, to advance to the final.

The Panthers' U11BB team have advance to their final.

Following a 1-1-1 round robin, the Panthers' U13 team blanked Lambeth, 2-0, in the quarterfinals for a spot in the semifinals.

The Blazers have a U15BB semifinal Sunday morning, after a win and two ties in their round robin.
