LONDON, ON. - It was double silver for the Parkside Stampeders at the WOSSAA boys' volleyball championships, at Oakridge Secondary School.
Parkside seniors had a tough match with London Lucas, dropping the gold medal match in three games. The Stampeders took care of London CCH in the semifinals, three games to one.
"(Lucas) had one big outside power hitter and two tough spin servers," Parkside senior coach Chris Palmer said. "We battled hard and played well. Just a few too many unforced errors."
London Oakridge took home the bronze, dusting CCH, 3-0. The Oaks were upended by Lucas, three games to two, in the semifinals.
Parkside also took the silver medal in junior boys, losing to Oakridge in the final.

London Beal is the bronze medalist, after beating CCH.
"Successful season for both teams," Palmer said. "Very little competition in our league so we fared well at WOSSAA based on that. (Parkside's) first year at AAA. Very different level of play compared to AA (with) more experienced teams and more club players to compete against."
The senior Stampeders never dropped a game, winning all 10 regular season matches in the TVRA South Division, three games to none. They wrapped up TVRA play, taking the AA title, defeating Ingersoll in the final.
The junior Stamps' match record were 8-0, during the season, before advancing to the AA final against Ingersoll.
