ST. THOMAS - The Parkside Stampeders have sent a message to the rest of the competition in Thames Valley Regional Association (TVRA) wrestling.
The blue and white are ready for the TVRA Conference championships.
For the first time in several years, Parkside captured the TVRA dual meet championship.
This comprises of meets held throughout the season at various schools. Parkside hosted the final one this past Thursday and were able to clinch the title on home mats.
Gavin Eldridge, Maddie King, Payton, Brodie-Grubb and sisters Steph and Julie Boyko, were among 15 Parkside weight class champions.
"I think it just boosts the confidence of many of the wrestlers as they are headed into TVRA," Steph Boyko said. "The whole team was so happy but especially us seniors. We were so excited to win at PCI because a lot of our teachers and friends could watch us."
Parkside also will host the Michienzi Conference championships, February 14th. The conference includes St. Joe's, Central Elgin and Voaden along with London schools, CCH, Saunders and Banting.
Lord Dorchester will be in the Geris Conference, with Tillsonburg Glendale, Huron Park and College Avenue from Woodstock and London schools Clarke Road, Central, Beal and Arva Medway.
Last year, Steph Boyko, Eldridge, Brodie-Grubb and King, all finished their seasons at OFSAA.
