LONDON, Ont. - . Following an almost two year layoff due to the pandemic, Thames Valley Regional Athletics field hockey returned Tuesday, at City Wide Sports Park.
Seven teams, including the Parkside Stampeders, Central Elgin Titans, West Elgin Wildcats and East Elgin Eagles, each played four 30 minute games on day one of a two day round robin tournament.
The round robin continues Tuesday, October 13, followed by championship and consolation semifinal and finals.
Two days, that is the season, as TVRA has pulled from WOSSAA and OFSAA competition.
The Medway Cowboys went 4-0 to lead the standings.
Parkside had three wins and a tie, Central Elgin went 2-2 and West Elgin had one tie and three losses.
Rounding out the teams are Strathroy District, at 1-2-1 and Ingersoll, with two ties and two losses.
