Lady Stampeders take Gemini Cup

   Ellery scores twice in Parkside's 2-0 shutout of London Lucus in girls' final

TILLSONBURG, ON - Kaitlin Ellery scored twice to lift the Parskide Stampeders over the London Lucas Vikings, 2-1, in the girls' soccer final, at the Gemini Cup.

Parkside finished 4-0, including wins over the West Elgin Wildcats, London Clarke Road and host Tillsonburg Glendale, in pool play.

Lucas won the boys' final edging Glendale, 2-1, on penalty kicks.

The St. Joseph's Rams blanked London South, 2-0, in the boys' third place game. Dennis Reid and Caleb Schaap scored, while keeper Evan Wharton earned the shutout.

Parkside won the boys' fifth place game, edging Simcoe, 4-3, on penalty kicks and the East Elgin Eagles blanked West Elgin, 3-0, in the seventh place game.

In the girls' third place game, Clarke Road shutout Simcoe, 1-0. South blanked West Elgin, 1-0, in the fifth place game, while East Elgin took the seventh place game, defeating Glendale, 3-1.
