Goodhue, Smyth and Hayes lead Parkside to TVRA divisional team title

ST. THOMAS - The Parkside Stampeders captured the team title, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South-East tennis championships, at Pinafore Park.
Parkside snaps the St. Joseph's Rams' four year rule a top the South-East division.
Both finalists in each of the five divisions, advance to the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) tournament, Thursday, May 23rd, at Western University.
It was an all Parkside affair in the ladies' singles final, with Taylor Goodhue defeating teammate Amber Safadi.
A year ago Goodhue lost in the final to West Elgin Wildcat Taylor Schnekenburger. Safadi prevented a rematch eliminating Schnekenburger in the semifinals.
Goodhue and Safadi are quite familiar with one another, also teammates on Parkside's field hockey and soccer teams. Safadi will return next year for Grade 12, while Goodhue will attend Waterloo University for Therapeutic Recreation.
Stampeders' Kenzie Smyth and Becky Hayes took the ladies' doubles title, defeating St. Joseph's Rams' Alexa Nichol and Erin Laframboise in the final.
Parkside's Noah Szabo lost in the men's singles' final.
In men's doubles, Bryce Mailhot and Smith beat Kelner and Wright twice in the final, to become champions.
