The St. Joseph's Rams Grade nine player wins by 19 strokes

LONDON, Ont. - In her first month of high school, Andrea Lai is a Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) champion.
The Grade nine student at St. Joe's high school shot a round of 76 over 18 holes, to win the TVRA girls golf A flight title by 19 strokes, Wednesday at the Thames Valley golf course.
"It feels nice, especially since I had a tournament just before this and I didn't do too well. So coming out today, trying to improve and get my game back together was nice," Lai said. "It's awesome. I've never had any experience like this as a team. It feels really special to be part of the St. Joe's team and for us to come out on top."
Lai led the Rams to the team title, with Melissa Gillies and Charlie Giesbrecht.
Gillies placed second in A flight carding a 95. Giesbrecht carded a 57 over nine holes in B flight, finishing tied fourth in the Tri-County division, tied 11th overall.
Abbie Neil placed fourth with a 99 in A flight, leading the Central Elgin Titans to fourth overall. Anna Shoukri had a 57 in B flight, to share fourth place in Tri-County, tied 11th overall.
Titans Janay Gillard was 12th in A flight, but will be in B flight at WOSSAA.
Emilia Espana of London Aquinas, finished third overall and won the Central division A flight individual title with a 97.
London Lucas took the Central team title, led by B flight winner Keaton Schofield, who fired a 46 over nine holes. Teammate Kensi Doerr carded a 49.
Players needed a 63 or less, to qualify in B flight for WOSSAA, without more than two holes that required six shots.
West Elgin Wildcats Shana McKillop (58) and Addison Peacock (61) move on.
Parkside Stampeders Grace Mills had a 58, while Breah Payne shot a 63 to advance.
WOSSAA is at Thames Valley, Tuesday, September 30.

Central: Lyla Monk (South), Grace Rotermann (Banting), Bronwyn Melnik (Saunders), Emily Kim (Medway), Estelle Kong (Beal), Sophia Muth (Mon. Bruyere), Alexa Rizzo (Medway), Sydney Smith (Aquinas), Emma Joudrey (Lucas), Elayna Korzycki (Aquinas), Aryana Butchey (Lucas), Lydia Dam (London Christian).
At WOSSAA, only players in A flight are eligible for OFSAA, the provincial high
school championship, October 15-16, at the Lion Head golf club in Brampton.
