Huron Park completes unbeaten SouthEast run winning AA senior final
November 6, 2025
By Rob J. Ross
WOODSTOCK, Ont. - The Central Elgin Titans came out on fire.
However, the Huron Park Huskies showed how they finished first with a 8-0 record during the regular season.
Down 6-0 early, the Huskies rallied in game one for a 25-20 win, before taking the next two games, for a sweep in the South-East AA senior boys volleyball final November 5th at Huron Park secondary.
"Our goal every year is to get to WOSSAA and we achieved that today," Titans coach Scott King said. "We knew it was going to be a battle against Huron Park. We're still doing our best to figure out where the holes are there. We came out really strong in game one. It's long day and volleyball is a game of both physical and mental realities. This group of guys have been together for so long, we're almost like a family. Like any family, you have your high highs and you have your low lows." Today was their (Huskies) day. My hope is we get to see them one more time."
That would be at the Western Ontario (WOSSAA) tournament, at Huron Park, Wednesday, November 13.
In the WOSSAA semifinals, the Titans face Stratford St. Mike's, while Huron Park sees London South. The winners meet in the gold game with a spot at OFSAA on the line.
Huron Park and Central Elgin finished one-two in the SouthEast, with the Huskies handing the Titans their lone regular season match loss.
"We really want to work on being consistent," King said. "Consistency is the key in most sports and it's going to be the key for us moving forward. Our serving is right where we want it to be and we've really improved consistency of serve and difficulty of serve."
King pointed out fifth year player Landon Findlater, who "led quietly by being consistent."
In the SouthEast semifinals, the Titans dusted St. Joe's, while the Huskies took care of St. Mary's Warriors, both in the three games.
In the SouthEast AA junior final, Woodstock CI
defeated St. Mary's, three games to one.
