LONDON, ON. -  Sadie Waite, a forward with the London Youth Whitecaps, brought home a silver medal from the Ontario Cup under-14 girls' championship final.

A student at Southwold elementary school, Sadie is the daughter of Chris and Christine Waite and grand-daughter to Jim Waite.

Playing up a division, Waite doesn't turn 13 until October.

Barrie FC blanked London, 2-0, to win the U14 girls' Ontario Cup, September 10, at the Vaughn Soccer Centre.

The Whitecaps, one of 45 teams at the start the Cup season, took their first step, winning a four team pool tournament, July 21-23.

Then the Whitecaps needed penalty kicks to dispose of Erin Mills, taking their quarter-final, 3-2 (5-3 PK), on August 12.

Sadie and her team-mates advanced to the final, by defeating Niagara-on-the-Lake, 5-2, on August 20.
