St. Thomas loses in peewee minor football action, 30-12, at City Wide Fields
but both tyke and atom Hawks win first games of the 2018 season

LONDON, ON. - The Hammers didn't waste time avenging a loss to the St. Thomas Hawks in the 2017 peewee final.
On opening day of the 2018 London Minor Football Association season, the Hammers scored three touchdowns in the second half, on way to a 30-12 win over the Hawks, at City Wide Field.

Hawks' running back Kris Vigars and quarterback Jack Brown, scored TDs. Both converts attempts failed.
The Hammers led 8-6 at half time and increased their lead to 15-6 mid third quarter.
Kyler Osborn did most the of the damage for the Hammers, with four TDs, including racing to the end zone, one play after the Hawk made the score 15-12.
Hammers' Cole Wilmink caught a pair of two point converts and ran the ball in for a point after touchdown convert.
Kick-offs and the point after touchdown via kicking, have been cut this season, therefore it's now either a pass or run, for potential points following a TD.
St. Thomas broke the Hammers, in last season's peewee final, 41-11. Many of those players are now with the Parkside Stampeders' junior football team.
Parkside host the East Elgin Eagles, for a junior and senior double-header battle under the lights, on Thursday, September 20.
In tyke (35-21) and atom (31-6) action, both St. Thomas teams defeated the Hammers.
