Owen Pink leads Lord Dorchester's junior boys' team placing third in the race
at the Fairground X-C festival while St. Joe's takes the midget boys' title

DORCHESTER – The Dorchester Beavers' junior boys' team thrilled their fans on home turf.
Led by Owen Pink, Connor Erb, Joshua Smith and Evan Gillies, Dorchester won the team title, at the Fairground cross country festival, the opening meet of the running season.
Pink crossed the finish line third, completing the five kilometre route in 14:05, followed by Erb in sixth (14:41), Smith, 12th (14:44) and Gillies, 17th (15:10).
Aiden and Tristan Coles, finished second and third, respectively, leading the St. Joseph's Rams to first place in the midget boys' division. Aiden finished the four kilometre course in 11:05, five seconds ahead of his brother. Harrison Belanger was 10th (11:34), followed by James Hill, in 36th (12:34) and Joel Bowden, 37th (12:38).
Parkside Stampeder Brent Hagerty was sixth (11:18), in the midget boys' race, with teammate Mason Basson, right on his heels in seventh place (11:21).
The Coles, Hagerty and Basson renew their running rivalry, picking it up from their elementary school days at Elgin Court, Southwold and Sparta schools, respectively.
In the midget girls' race, Dorchester's Ashley Legg had the top local result, placing fourth (12:44).
East Elgin Eagles' running star Hallee Knelsen had the top local result for junior girls, finishing fourth (16:12). London Central's Elysse Fleming won the five kilometre race in 15:59.
Nathaniel Abel completed the senior boys' six kilometre course in 17:18, placing the East Elgin Eagle in eighth spot. Dorchester's Colson Erb was 11th (17:38).
