Runners compete in half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1K distances

ST. THOMAS - The annual Railway City road races took over the CASO station, with over 500 runners competing in the half-marathon, 10-kilometre, five kilometre and one kilometre fun run.
The event supports the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
The half marathon, 21 kilometres in distance, started in Port Stanley, doing a loop through Hofhuis Park, before heading north towards St. Thomas along Sunset Drive.
All routes went through Pinafore Park and alongside the Port Stanley railroad between Centre and Elm Streets.
Chad McCallum won the half-marathon, finishing in 1:31.04, while Monica Smith was the top female, at 1:41.50.
The 10K winner was Michael Rochus, covering the distance in 37:32.5 and Sophie Pereira, the first female, crossing the finish line in 43:23.8
Fraser Hutton won the
5K event in 15:50.2, with Robin Todd, the top
female, in 20:22.8
