ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Aiden Ward had four touchdowns leading the Parkside Stampeders over the Banting Broncos, 33-14, in a Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) junior football quarterfinal at 1Password Park.

"Feels amazing. Never really felt feeling like this, I can say that much," Ward said. "A big run game. The line was incredible. A big thanks to them. This is an all around a great team effort."

Parkside jumped out to a 14-0 lead, thanks to a pair of Ward TDs and led 26-8 at half.

Aidan Willoughby had a TD and Logan Van Den Driessche kicked three extra points.

Defensively for Parkside, Carter McBurney made an interception and Cole Surmacz recovered a fumble.

"Our defence has been amazing all season. Defensive back, probably their best game so far this season," praised Ward. "Our linebackers, Logan Dore, Carter McBurney, Cole Surmacz, had great game and great games from Aiden Willoughby and Josh Laning, our wide receivers and Brendan McCausland had great blocks."

Ward was happy to see several back up players see the field and contribute for the Stampeders, like Ewan Rutkauskas, Jayden Warrick and Will Peters.

William McBurney and Eli Willoughby had TDs for Banting, while Willoughby and Kolton Bergeron caught two-point passes.

Both the senior and junior Parkside teams will play football in November.

"It's amazing," Ward said. "Our school spirit will definitely be up for that."

Parkside tackles the Bessette Bulldogs, from London, Friday, November 3, 2:15 p.m. at City Wide Sports Park.

The teams met in the final game of regular season, with the Bulldogs winning, 11-7.
