St. Joe's wins fourth team title while senior boys win third at Springwater Invitational

ORWELL, Ont. - The St. Joseph's Rams' senior boys and junior girls keep running away from the competition.
St. Joe's won both the senior boys and junior girls team titles at the Springwater Invitational cross country meet, Thursday at the Springwater Conservation Area, the final meet before the championships.
Led by Abi Faris in 12th position, the Rams placed four runners in the top 25, with Flourish Nmor, 17th, Alex Fangeat, 18th and Clara Lascelles, 25th.
London Lucas, with junior girls race winner Sarah Jacquith, was second.
The Rams' junior girls have been the top team in each of the four local meets, Golden Ghost Invitational at Gibbons Park, Springbank, Strathroy and now Springwater.
The Rams' senior boys have brought home titles in three of the four meets.
Fowler Little was seventh in the senior race, followed by Connor Crosby in eighth, Ty Emre, 14th and Lucas Skirtschak, 20th.
Kirk Hallman led the Dorchester Beavers to the junior boys' team title, winning the five kilometre race in 17 minutes and 49 seconds. River Neveu finished 12th, followed by Bennett Thomas, 18th and Spencer Erb, 19th.
Dorchester also was the top junior boys team at Gibbons Park.
Parkside Stampeders Oliver Doolittle finished sixth in the novice boys four K race.
St. Joe's Diego Alban-Gasca placed fourth in the para race.

The Thames Valley Regional Athletics Tri-County championships are Thursday, October 19th in Strathroy. Qualifiers move on to WOSSAA, October 26 at St. Anne's high school in Clinton. OFSAA is at Centennial Park in Etobicoke, Saturday, November 4.
