Southwold defeats Summer's Corners for the TVDSB Elgin regional AAA boys' title
while on the girls' side Locke's and Straffordville win respective finals

ST. THOMAS - The Southwold Cougars made short work of the Summer's Corner's Sabres, to capture the Thames Valley District School Board South (Elgin County) regional AAA boy's volleyball title.
The Cougars won the best of three game final, 25-11, 25-21, at John Wise public school. Both teams move on to the Valley championships in London, this Friday. The AAA tournament is a Oakridge Secondary School.
Dunwich-Dutton will represent Elgin in the single-A tournament, at Glen Cairn public school.
On the girls' side, the Locke's Lions won the AAA title defeating Trudeau Voyageurs, 25-23, 25-19, in the final on home court.
The Straffordville Rams took the single-A final dusting the Dunwich-Dutton Dynamos in two games.
Trudeau won the wild card match, two games to none, over Dunwich-Dutton, to advance to Valleys.
Locke's and Straffordville will at Clarke Road Secondary school for their Valley games. Trudeau will be playing at Lucas high school.
The West Nissouri Wildfire, from Thorndale, are in the boys' AA event, at Westminster Secondary School.
All six divisions start with pool games at 1:30 p.m. Each team plays three matches. The top two teams in each of the two pools advance to the semifinals, at 5:30 p.m. The gold and bronze medal matches are at 6:30 p.m.
