   Lions and Cougars roar in to semis

   

       Locke's and Southwold win TVDSB regional boys' volleyball quarterfinals

ST. THOMAS -  The Locke's Lions and Southwold Cougars are moving on.

These cats won their respective Thames Valley District School Board boys' volleyball best of three quarter-final, at Locke's elementary school.

The Lions roared over John Wise Jaguars, 25-16, 25-12, while the Cougars clawed Port Stanley, 25-18, 25-19.

Locke's will take on the Mitchell Hepburn Mustangs, in the AA semi-finals, Thursday, back at Locke's. Both the Mustangs' boys and girls teams, defeated Davenport, in their quarter-finals.

Southwold heads to Aylmer, to face the Summer's Corners Sabres in an AA semi-final.

Both the Sabres' boys and girls' team eliminated Straffordville, in the quarters.

Over at John Wise for quarter-final action, the host Jaguar girls' defeated Southwold, while Port Stanley eliminated Forest Park.

The girls' AA semi-finals are John Wise at Summer's Corners and Port Stanley at Mitchell Hepburn.

In A semi-final action, for the boys, it's Forest Park versus Dutton and New Sarum facing Sparta. On the girls' side, Dutton is at Locke's, while New Sarum takes on June Rose.

The winners advance to their respective SouthWest regional final, Monday, November 27th, at locations, TBA.

The TVDSB championships take centre court, Saturday, December 2.
