Summers' Corners repeats as TVDSB Elgin girl's slo-pitch champions

ST. THOMAS - The Summers' Corners Sabres are champions again.
The Sabres successfully defended their Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) Elgin County girl's slo-pitch crown, defeating Port Stanley in the final, at the Tarry Complex.
Summers' Corners won their pool, with a 3-0 record, eliminated Straffordville, in the quarterfinals and the Dutton-Dunwich Dynamos in the semifinals. Port Stanley defeated the Locke's Lions in the quarters, then edged the Southwold Cougars in their semi-final.
Sabres' Ella Cattryse and Julie Nagelhout both batted four for four, driving in two runs and scoring four runs each.
Both Port Stanley and Summers' Corners, advance to the TVDSB Valley championship, at Stronach Park in London, June 12.
A year ago, Summer's Corners defeated Locke's in the Elgin final, before going on to win the Valley championship.
