Mairleitner&McKillop finish fifth

  West Elgin Wildcats Elgin County's best result at WOSSAA junior badminton

West Elgin Wildcats Shana McKillop, left and Jenna Mairleitner finished the badminton season placing fifth at the WOSSAA junior championships May 2 in Stratford. The pair was fourth at the TVRA Central Division championships.

STRATFORD, Ont. -  Jenna Mairleitner and Shana McKillop had the top result for Elgin County schools at WOSSAA junior badminton.

The West Elgin Wildcats pair placed fifth in women's doubles, at the tournament May 2 at the Agriplex.

No other school from Elgin County or Dorchester won a match.

The Medway Cowboys captured the team title, with London Aquinas placing second.

Mairleitner and McKillop had a successful season, winning two invitational tournaments and placing second twice, including at a senior event.

At the TVRA Central Division championships, Mairleitner and McKillop placed fourth, to advance to WOSSAA.
