Grant and Brown win women's doubles at TVRA Tri-County tennis

ST. THOMAS - Central Elgin Titans Sandra Brown and Sophie Grant are Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County tennis champs.
Only in Grade nine, Brown and Grant went 4-0, including defeating Dorchester Beavers Jocelyn Pollard and Thea McLellan in the women's doubles final, May 15 at Pinafore Park.
Brown and Grant have been playing tennis for several years already, training at Western University.
Prior to arriving at Parkside, Grant attended Southwold elementary school, while Brown was a student at King's Academy, a private school in west St. Thomas.
Tillsonburg Glendale took the team title, led by mixed doubles winners Cole Toth and Sydney Moore and two second place finishes.
Dorchester's Luka Palajsa is the men's singles champ, defeating Glendale's Brody VanRybroek in the final.
Parkside Stampeders Parker Vaughan and Bryce Hampton won boys doubles, downing Glendale's Evan Scaman and Gavin Luksys in the final.
Ingersoll's Lauren Okrainec defeated Parkside Stampeders Afimaa Dankwa, for the women's singles title.
Tillsonburg Glendale's Cole Toth and Sydney Moore took the mixed doubles crown. Woodstock C.I's Tyler Law and Robyn Wilson placed second.
Parkside and Ingersoll tied for second spot in the team standings.
The top two in each of the five disciplines, move on to WOSSAA (Western Ontario championships), back at Pinafore Park, May 23.
