Fangeat cycles to four provincial gold

 St. Thomas cyclist wins four races at provincial U17 track cycling championships

 while Eve Buczkowski brings home double gold

MILTON, Ont. - Aleandra Fangeat had a weekend at the Ontario track cycling provincial championships.

Fangeat, of St. Thomas, riding for Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) Cycling Academy, won four gold, the U17 women's points race, tempo, scratch and pursuit final, at the Mattamy Cycling Centre.

The Grade nine student at St. Joe's high school, also took silver in the elimination, 500-metre time trial and Keirin.

Eve Buczkowski, 14, of St. Thomas, won both the U17 women's 500 metre time trial and keirin.

Buczkowski, who rides with Attack Racing out of London, also captured silver in the U17 women's pursuit final and points race.

Brody Mann, of St. Thomas, also with Attack Racing, won silver in both the U17 men's pursuit final and scratch race and bronze medals for the tempo race and elimination.



Eastern Challenge

Eve Buczkowski and Brody Mann both brought home four medals, from the Ontario Cup Eastern Challenge track cycling, February 10-12, at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre.

Buczkowski finished third in both the individual U17 women's 500-metre time trial and points race. The 14-year old also won gold in both the U17 team pursuit and team sprint.

Mann finished second in the U17 men's individual pursuit and third in the U17 men's temp race and won gold in U17 men's team pursuit and silver in team sprint.



Cycling in Quebec

Eve Buczkowski had four top 10 results at an U19 women's track cycling event, at the Bromont National Cycling Centre velodrome, January 22.

The first year U17 rider was third, in the opening Scratch race, fifth, in the Kerin, sixth, in the Elimination and fourth, in the final scratch race.

Brody Mann finished second in the junior men's scratch qualifier, third, in the scratch final and sixth, in the elimination race.
