Bumped up for playoffs St. Thomas ends season a goal from U11C final

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas U11HL Panthers were a goal away from reaching the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League (WOGHL) U11C final.
Unfortunately for the 'Cats, Sadie Dufton completed a hat trick scoring in overtime, lifting the Bluewater Hawks over the Panthers, 3-2, in a semifinal Sunday at the Joe.
Paisley Ilic and Claire Brokenshire gave the Panthers a 2-0 first period lead.
The Panthers finished first in the WOGHL HL division at 10-0-2.
That success got the team bumped to C for the playoffs and the 'Cats compiled the second best record in the playoff round robin at 5-3-2.
Bluewater went 4-3-3 during the round robin. BAD U11C Blazers finished first with a 7-1-2 record
The Blazers are heading to the U11C final, with a 3-1 victory against Twin Centre Sunday in Belmont.
Addisyn Kocsis, Audrey Chipchase and Aaliyah Stevenson scored for the Blazers.
The U11C final is April 6 in Zurich.
