Mitchell Hepburn defeats Locke's, 11-3, in the elementary school girls' slo-pitch final

ST. THOMAS - The Mitchell Hepburn Mustangs are Elgin County girls' slo-pitch champions.
The Mustangs defeated the Locke's Lions, 11-3, in the elementary school final, Tuesday, at the Sauve Avenue baseball diamonds.
Sadie Dowswell had a solo home run and a two run single, that put the 'Stangs up 4-3. Alexis Fish drove in two runs.
Locke's led 3-2, until the Mustangs scored seven runs in one inning. Alexis Fish drove in two runs, while Allie Rickwood, Gabby Henderson and Evelyn Barker, each had one RBI.
Miya Sutcliffe hit three home runs in the tournament, that the Mustangs went 5-0, including defeating the Kettle Creek Captains, in the semifinals.
Locke's upended the two-time defending champion Summer's Corners Sabres, in the semifinals.
Mitchell Hepburn won the Elgin Boy's title last week.
