St. Thomas, Ont. - Girls Soccerfest Two local teams got off on the right foot this morning, at girls Soccerfest.
Dorchester Blue Devils opened with a 6-1 win over Fort Erie, in the under-13 division. Synthia Bishop struck four times, while Shaelyn Linton and Danika Linton, had a goal each.
The St. Thomas Cyclones blanked the LaSalle Stompers, 3-0 in their U15 opener. Halle Szabo, Taylor Snyder and Klara Lattanzio scored, while keeper Arianna Lethbridge had the shutout.
Szabo was part of the Parkside CI team, that won WOSSAA and competed at OFSAA earlier this year.
Games continue Saturday and Sunday, at both Athletic and Cowan Parks.

Dorchester, an under 12 team playing up a division, was blanked 1-0, by Leamington United, in their second game.
