PORT STANLEY, ON. - Jake Weston netted a hat trick, his team's first three goals, leading the North Middlesex Stars to a 6-2 win against the Port Stanley Sailors.

Weston opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the first period, before giving the Stars a 2-0 advantage early second period.

Kam Korab scored his first of the season, to put the Sailors on the board, but Weston completed his three goal performance just 70 seconds later.

Brett Holt, followed by Andrew Henderson, on the power play, had North Middlesex up 5-1.

Andrew Gysbers scored a Sailors' leading 10th goal, while shorthanded, making it 5-2 after 40 minutes.

Cameron Amos also scored for the Stars, while Hayden Basso had three assists.

The teams meet again Sunday in Parkhill.

Port Stanley hosts Mt. Brydges, Tuesday, December 22, before breaking for the holidays.
