Vandenberg and Nolte contribute to team's 3-1 win over defending champs

Sydney Vandenberg and Annika Nolte are off to the Ontario Cup semifinals.
The right wing and striker from Dorchester, helped Alliance FC defeat Glen Shields FC, 3-1, in an Ontario Cup U15 girls' quarterfinal, at North London Fields, August 10th.
Glen Shields, out of Concord, was the defending champion.
Trailing 1-0 at half, Nolte tied the game heading in the ball off a corner kick. Nolte then added insurance scoring Alliance's third goal.
The semifinal is August 24th in Oshawa.
In June, Nolte, 14, helped Lord Dorchester secondary school placed fourth at OFSAA 1A girls' soccer.
Vandenberg, a year younger, graduated from St. David's elementary school and will attend Regina Mundi Collegiate in September.
