LONDON, Ont. - Lexi Stanat scored twice helping Team Light edged Team Dark, 7-6, in the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) girls hockey showcase, Tuesday at Western Fair Sports Centre.

Stanat, from the Parkside Stampeders, put Team Light up 3-1 in the first period, twice ripping the puck over the goalie's shoulder.

Team Light led 6-2, before Team Dark made a push in the third period.

Parkside's Maddie Pinnegar, Ingersoll's Zoee Nurse, Strathroy DCI's Molly Battram, Olivia Battram and Katelyn Malaniuk, also scored for Team Light.

Picking up assists, were Banting's Natalie Chalmers with two, Battram, Malaniuk, Nurse, St. Joe's Avery Dowson, WCI's Annalise Longworth, Ingersoll's Jayla Lamers and Anna Rupert and Banting's Arwen St. John.

Medway's Estelle Lebeau and Laurier's Reese Robichaud, with two goals each, Medway's Delaney Stacey and Lucas' Erin Downing, replied for Team Dark.

Lucas Vikings' Makena Watson and Hannah Lave with two each, CCH's Calista Aarts, Medway's Ava Straughan and Clarke Road's Meghan Cosman, drew assists.

Parkside goalie Lexie Sawyer, East Elgin Eagles Taryn Sullivan and Hayden Dunn and St. Joe's Dani Kidder, skated for Team Light.

St. Joe's coaches Dave Fox and Sarah Collier were behind the team Light bench. The Rams won the TVRA South-East title.
