Girls doubles winners Westbrook and Nurton lead CECI at TVRA South

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - The Central Elgin Titans led the way at Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South Division senior badminton Thursday at Glendale high school.
Nine Titans qualified for the South-East championships, including girls doubles winners, Emma Westbrook and Rebecca Nurton
St. Joe's Callum Besley won boys singles, while Parkside's Emilie Dlouhy repeated as girls' singles winner.
Bryce Hampton and Ryan Willmore, from Parkside, won boys doubles and Cody Johnson and Elise Donaghy, from St. Joe's, took the mixed doubles titles.
At East Division badminton, five Dorchester Beavers advanced.
Jocelyn Pollard and Emily Devine placed second in girls doubles, Ramjot Singh and Surkhab Singh, were third in boys doubles and Leland Kernohan, fourth in boys singles.
The top four in each of the five disciplines, from both the South and East tournaments, move on to the South-East championships, Thursday, April 18, at Parskside.
From the South-East, the top four in the five disciplines head to WOSSAA, April 25 at the Stratford Agriplex.
