Carr opens season with five wins

MIAMI, FL. - Ally Carr, of Shedden, and partner Victoria Corcoran, with the University of New Orleans Privateers women's beach volleyball team, defeated Missouri State's Grace Cook and Rachel Evans, 27-25, 21-17 and Florida Memorial's Fatima Rajaee and Adriana Soto, 21-13, 21-12, Saturday.

A day earlier Carr and Corcoran beat San Diego City College's Alina Fletes and Kareemah Hopkins, 21-10, 21-9, but lost two close games to FIU's Emma Erteltova and Ali Denney, 26-28, 19-21.

Last season, Carr won 16 matches, the majority playing with Victoria Corcoran. Carr, who is in the pre-med program, is a 2017 graduate of Parkside Collegiate.
