LONDON, Ont. - It almost came to an end. With under five minutes remaining the second half, the St. Thomas Reds trailed St. Columban, 1-0, in the Elgin Middlesex District Soccer League U14 girls Cup final. The Reds, aiming to complete an undefeated season, needed Allie Rickwood and Ruby Steen, to strike minutes apart, and stun St. Columban, 2-1, Sunday, at North London Fields. St. Thomas finishes with a record of 16 wins and one tie, in combined league action, regular season and Cup play.

LONDON, Ont. - The St. Thomas Reds stepped up to show their true capabilities on the final weekend of the season. Rylan Watson, late in the first half and Imogen Salin scored, as St. Thomas blanked the first place Oakridge Fury, 2-0, to win the U17 girls' District Cup, in the Elgin Middlesex District Soccer League, Sunday, at North London Fields. Keeper Jessy Rady had the shutout and Reece Coleman the lone goal, in a 1-0 win over Strathroy, in the semifinals.

ARKONA, Ont. - St. Thomas improved their record to 2-0-2, with a 3-2 win, against Taxandria, in Western Ontario Soccer Premier action. Alonzo Flores, Anthony Luginaah and Mitchell Burns, scored for St. Thomas.
St. Thomas opened the 2022 season, losing to GCFC, 4-2, on May 7, before shutting out London Croatia, 1-0, on a goal by Andrew Henson, on May 15. Sarnia blanked St. Thomas, 2-0, on May 18.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - Matt Aristone scored his third and fourth goals of the season, as St. Thomas defeated Tillsonburg, 3-1, in Western Ontario Soccer
Masters action. Joey Lyons also scored for St. Thomas, now owners of a 2-0-1 record.
Aristone is the division's co-leader for most goals with LAFC Red's Bryan Aguilar.

LONDON, ON. - Cameron Sanders scored the only goal as St. Thomas blanked the North Huron Tempest, 1-0, in the London and Area Women's Soccer League (LAWSL) Second Division Cup final, Thursday, at the Hellenic Centre. Sanders scored on a free kick outside the 18 box, while keeper Avivia Fournie picked up the shutout.
"Very strong defence on our part," Fournie said. "(The defence) really helped to progress the game and keep up the intensity."
St. Thomas edged Alliance FC, 2-1, in a Cup semifinal. Zoe Gubinczki and Emma Butters scored for St. Thomas.
Alliance is the current Second Division East leaders, with a 9-2-2 record, just ahead of St. Thomas at 7-0-4. North Huron upended the West leaders, Sarnia (11-0-1), in their semifinal.

VAUGHAN, ON. - Dorchester advanced to the final of the under-13 girls' division, at the Ontario Soccer Indoor Cup, losing 1-0 to Erin Mills. Dorchester won their pool, shutting out Orangeville, 2-0, Caledon, 7-0 and the Brampton Brams, 11-0. In the semifinals, Dorchester blanked Brampton FC, 4-0.

LONDON, ON. - Following a dominating regular season, the St. Thomas Scorpions were hoping to finish with some hardware. However, the Byron Force had other ideas, taking London and Area Soccer League (LAWSL) Third Division's top team, to penalty kicks in the Third Division Cup final and winning, 3-2, at the Hellenic Centre. Tied following regulation and 20 minutes of overtime, Byron won in kicks, five goals to four.

WALLACEBURG, ON. - Claire Banks and Jaylin Wismer scored to lead St. Thomas past Wallaceburg, 2-0, in a London and Area Women's Soccer league (LAWSL) Third Division Cup semifinal. Rianne Neill recorded the shutout in her first game back from injury since June. St. Thomas advances to the Third Division Cup final against Byron, Monday, at the Hellenic Centre, in London.
St. Thomas coach Jaime Earhart pointed to midfielders Nicole Carnegie and Jalyn Smart, who prevented a strong Wallaceburg midfield from generating any scoring opportunities.
"Our midfield controlled the game and made the job easier on our defenders and keeper," Earhart said. "They generated a ton of offence as well and if not for really outstanding play of the
Wallaceburg keeper, the score may have been much higher."
Banks rifled in a shot from the left elbow of the 18-yard box midway through the first half. In the second half, Wismer scored off a cross from Zoe Gubinczki.

Courtney Allen and Natalie McDavell, added two goals each for Offside Katie Locke, Angie Nelson, and Sarah Weinstein, replied for Camo. Offside will meet Sureshot in the women's A final, Sunday, March 25th, at CECI.

Their 10th win of the season leap frogs St. Thomas over London Marconi, into third place, with a game still in hand.

ST. THOMAS – The St. Thomas Cyclones have the best result from local entries at girls Soccerfest. The top seed in the under-15 division, following pool play, won their quarter-final, but lost to Waterloo United, in a semi-final, at Athletic Park. Earlier today, both the St. Thomas U16 Warriors and Dorchester Blue Devils, fell in quarter-final action. The Warriors were blanked 2-0 by Leamington United, while Guelph shutout Dorchester, 4-0, in their U13 quarter-final.

ST. THOMAS – Two local teams got off on the right foot this morning, at girls Soccerfest. Dorchester opened with a 6-1 win over Fort Erie, in the under-13 division. Synthia Bishop struck four times, while Shaelyn Linton and Danika Linton, had a goal each.
The St. Thomas Cyclones blanked the LaSalle Stompers, 3-0 in their U15 opener. Halle Szabo, Taylor Snyder and Klara Lattanzio scored, while keeper Arianna Lethbridge had the shutout.
Szabo was part of the Parkside CI team, that won WOSSAA to earn a berth at OFSAA (high school provincial tournament) earlier this year.
The Cyclones finished pool play as the top seed in their division. St. Thomas' under 16 team, the Warriors, placed fourth in their division. The host club's U18 team failed to advance to the playoff round.
There are over 35 teams in five divisions, at this year's tournament, from as far as Windsor, Sarnia
and Peterborough.

ST. THOMAS – The St. Thomas Reds won the under-14 division at boys Soccerfest. Jack Tunstill, Gavin Barnhouse and Kaiden Banks scored, as St. Thomas edged Galladevs, 3-2, in the final, held at Athletic Park. Earlier in the day, the Reds blanked Waterloo United, 1-0, in a semi-final, on a goal by Barnhouse.
Four St. Thomas teams in total, advanced to playoff rounds during the two day tournament.
The St. Thomas Red Bulls defeated Galladevs, 4-0, in an under-13 quarter-final, but fell to Leamington, in the semi-finals, 5-2. In the U15 semis, the St. Thomas Strikers were defeated by Milton, 4-1, after getting by the Chatham Attack, 2-1, on penalty kicks, in the quarter-finals.
In the U18 quarters, St. Thomas lost to Mount Hamilton, 3-2.

ST. THOMAS – Leading 3-0 at half-time, St. Thomas seemed to be command of their Western Ontario Soccer League premier men's game against English FC.
But a second half red card and a lack of support from the bench, contributed to St. Thomas watching English FC rally for a 3-3 final.

In WOSL second division action, Duncan Fergusen, Mark Lewis and David Day scored, as St. Thomas edged Exeter, 3-2, on Sunday.
David Day had a pair of goals as St. Thomas upended league leading Apollo Blue, 5-1, in a Middlesex Masters Soccer league Cup game, at City Wide Fields, on June 14.
Greg Westra, Mike Edwards and Nate Girardin, completed the St.Thomas scoring. In league play, St. Thomas is 3-0-1, behind the first place Apollo Blue, at 5-0-0. .
