DORCHESTER, Ont. - It was a day to showcase ringette. The Dorchester Dragonfire tournament made its debut featuring seven teams from southern Ontario, along with the host, September 9, at the Flight Exec Centre.
During the event, Dorchester offered a come try ringette and come try
officiating segments.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - It was a fun yet competitive tournament to conclude the ringette and high school winter sports seasons. Woodstock St. Mary's Warriors went undefeated, going 5-0, to capture the eight team Gemini Classic, edging Dorchester Beavers Red, 2-1, in the final, April 6, at the Tillsonburg Community Centre. Most teams had a number of hockey players trying ringette for the day.

ST. THOMAS - Two St. Thomas Thunder teams clashed in Western Region ringette this week on home ice. London defeated St. Thomas, 3-1, in U19 action January 29, with Paige Christie, Kailyn Graham and Ryleigh McKenzie scoring.
Daniel Power had the lone Thunder goal.
Rachel Lima scored four times leading London Fury to a 7-3 win over the Thunder in U14 action January 31. Emily Henshaw, Zoey Brown and Kristina Gaboury also netted goals for the Fury.
Kayley Kokko with two goals and Maddie Lazenby, replied for the Thunder.

HALIFAX, N.S. - The Dorchester Dragons placed fourth at the Eastern Canadian U19 ringette championships. Dorchester, representing Ontario, finished with a record of two wins, one tie and two losses, at the six team four day tournament.
A 1-0 loss to New Brunswick in a tie-beaker game, prevented Dorchester from a spot in the semifinals.

DORCHESTER, ON. - For the first time, Dorchester will be represented at a Canadian ringette championship. The Dorchester Dragons are the provincial U19 champions, after going 7-1, at Ringette Ontario's 16-team tournament, March 17-20, in Ottawa. Dorchester captured the title edging Forest, 5-4, in the gold medal game, with Alia Linton scoring the decisive goal with less than three minutes remaining in the second half.
Gwen Beattie had two goals and an assist and Grace Baird, a goal and two assists. Emily McCurdy also scored, while Lauren Lindsay picked up two assists.

AYLMER, ON. - Two gold and a silver medal. That is the haul for the St. Thomas Thunder from four teams competing at the 2019 Western Region ringette championships, March 30/31.
Both the under-12 and U14 teams won gold, while the U16s settled for silver.
Kayla Cormier scored 40 seconds into the extra session lifting St. Thomas over Guelph, 10-9, in the U12R gold medal game, at the East Elgin Community Centre. Cormier also tied the game, with four and half minutes left in the second half, her fourth of five goals in the game.
Ella Metzger scored twice, including the game winner, to lead St. Thomas over the Dorchester Dragons, 5-3, in the U14R gold medal game, at Delhi.
The Dorchester Dragons had their U16s bring home silver, while the U9 team won bronze.

KITCHENER, ON. -It is three times golden for the St. Thomas Thunder at the Western Region ringette championships. The Thunder's under 16, U14 and U12 teams won their respective divisions.

LONDON, ON. -The St. Thomas Thunder finished their season with a gold medal. The Thunder upended Forest, 5-3, in the under-14 Blue Division final, at the Western Region ringette championships, held at the Western Fair complex. Jade Cormier and Chloe VanderHayden, with two goals each and Olivia Cormier scored for St. Thomas.

Dorchester Dragon teams combined to bring
home a medal of each colour, from the Western Region ringette championships,
held at Western Fair District.
Dorchester was led by their under-19 team that won the U19 Green Division,
dumping London, 6-2, in their final. Dorchester's under-10 team picked up a
silver medal, from the U10 Blue Division gold medal game, losing to Kitchener,
4-3, in overtime.
In the U12 Blue Division bronze medal game, Dorchester blanked St. Thomas, 3-0.
Dorchester won a second bronze medal, dumping Waterloo, 8-3, in the U14 Green
Division. In the U12 Red Division bronze final, Goderich edged Dorchester,
4-3. Dorchester's senior team captured the club's third bronze medal of the day,
dropping St. Thomas, 5-3, in the over 18 years old Green Division.

ST. THOMAS - Alexis Walker scored twice and assisted on two more goals, to lead the St. Thomas Thunder past the Kitchener Wildcats, 5-3, in the Western Region Ringette League under-14 division, at the Timken Centre. Taylor Hornbostel and Jade Cormier, both had a goal and an assist for the Thunder, who are now 4-0 in league action. Chloe VanderHeyden also scored for St. Thomas. The Thunder jumped out to 3-0 lead, before penalties allowed Kitchener back in to the game. The Wildcats capitalized with two goals in the final two minutes of the first half.

St. Thomas Thunder defeated their rivals, the London Lynx, 6-1, in the Western
Region Ringette League under-14 division.
Taylor Hornbostel, Alexis Walker, Cloe Locker and Olivia Cormier, also scored
for the Thunder, who improved to 3-0. Emilie Brown and Jade Cormier, both had
two assists, while Makayla Walker and Larissa McCabe, picked up single helpers.
Thunder goalie Emma Dicker had a shutout going until 2:32 left in the third
period.
