UNION, Ont. - Jack Zylstra is returning to OFSAA. The St. Joseph's Ram won the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) boys' golf title, shooting a 75 over 18 holes Thursday at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.
Dorchester's Ryan Johnson was tied 13th.

The St. Joseph's Ram carded a 18-hole round of 73, to lead the field of 60 players, at the TVRA championship today at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. Dorchester was fourth led by Nolan Candy who carded a 79, followed by WCI and Glencoe.

LONDON, Ont. - Jade Tep-Chhun is the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) girls' golf silver medalist. The St. Joseph's Ram carded a 18-hole round of 79, in A flight at the TVRA championships, at Thames Valley Golf Club. Celina Yeo, of London Aquinas, won the tournament with a 73, leading her school to the A flight team title. The Central Elgin Titans team of Janay Gillard, Sloane Maudsley and sisters Becca and Sandra Nurton, took the B flight (nine holes) team title.

LONDON, Ont. - The Dorchester Beavers are now back to back OFSAA girls soccer champions. The Beavers successfully defended their high school provincial 1-A title, edging Toronto De La Salle, 2-1 (4-3), in penalty kicks, in the gold medal match June 10 at the North London Fields. Trailing 1-0 in the dying minutes of the second half, Megan McLachlin tied the score for the Beavers sending the game to overtime. Dorchester avenges a 3-0 loss to De La Salle in pool play on Thursday. Earlier on Saturday in the semifinals, co-captain Lexi Wylie and Cali Beattie scored in a 2-1 squeaker against Pere Rene De Galinee, from Cambridge. The Beavers won three of four games in pool play, before a 3-1 result in the quarterfinals, with Bella Nolte scoring three times.

LONDON, Ont. - Bella Nolte scored three times to lead the Dorchester Beavers to a 3-1 win over Oakville Sainte Trinite, in the OFSAA 1-A girls soccer quartefinals, June 9 at the North London soccer fields. Dorchester completed pool play by blanking both Walkerton and Toronto University of Schools, by 4-0 scores. Sydney Champion had two goals, and Nolte and Cali Beattie, one each against Walkerton. Nolte, Lexi Wylier, Portia Metcalfe and Julia Ritchie scored versus Toronto. Keeper Makenna Brown had both clean sheets. The Beavers, with three wins in four games, finished second in their pool behind Toronto De La Salle (4-0-0). It's a third consecutive trip to the final four at OFSAA for Dorchester, still the reigning OFSAA champions. The Beavers placed fourth in 2019, before the 2000 and 2021 seasons were cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.

OTTAWA, Ont. - Evan Stevens saved his best for last. Sitting second entering the sixth and final round, the Dorchester Beaver launched a personal best throw of 54.61 metres to win the junior men's javelin, on day two of OFSAA track and field, June 9 at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility. Stevens had the best throw of 52.31 metres after two rounds, but Aiden Crawford, of Belleville Eastside, took over the lead with a toss of 52.85 metres in round three. Stevens won silver as a novice competitor in 2022.
Jadyn Luna has been in the shadow of throwing phenom Julia Tunks all season and that's ok with the student at Medway high school. The Thorndale resident won silver, behind Tunks, in senior women's shot put, with a heave of 11.26 metres. Tunks won by over three metres, with a measurement of 14.02 metres.
In the early weeks of the 2023 season, Henry Scott was running in basketball shoes and baggy shorts. The East Elgin Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team meanwhile couldn't get the baton around the oval cleanly.
Jump ahead to OFSAA, Scott, in spikes and compression shorts, along with Morgan Siemens, Khanan Fernandez and Joey Yaw, are sprinting to a bronze medal finishing in 45.79 seconds. Windsor Herman won gold in 45.60 seconds.
Scott placed 12th overall in the novice men's 100-metre dash (11.66 sec.)
Dorchester's Andrew Urquhart had the fourth best heave in novice men's shot put at 13.66 metres. Kirk Hallman lowered his school record for a second time while at OFSAA, finishing fifth, in the novice men's 1500-metre run. Hallman knocked off six seconds from his time in the heats on Thursday, down to four minutes, 10.74 seconds (4:10.74). Nabeel Haliru placed 10th, in senior men's high jump (1.85 metres).
St. Joseph's Rams Noah Pollnow was 11th, in senior men's discus (37.85 metres).

LONDON, Ont. - The Dorchester Beavers, the reigning OFSAA 1-A girls soccer champions, had a win and a loss in pool play, on day one of high school provincial championship, at the North London soccer fields. The Beavers opened defence of their title, won a year ago in Belle River, blitzing ESC Sainte-Marie, 8-0, in the morning hours. Kaylie Smith with three goals, Julia Ritchie, with two and singles from Bella Nolte, Sydney Champion and Faith Snyders scored. Toronto De LaSalle blanked Dorchester, 3-0, later in the day. Pool play continues Friday, with the top two teams in each of the divisions, advancing to the quarterfinals, Friday evening. The medal games are Saturday.

OTTAWA, Ont. - Kirk Hallman continues to lower his school record and now on the provincial stage. Hallman advanced to the novice men's 1500 metre final, with the second fastest qualifying time of 4:16.83, on day of OFSAA track and field, at the Terry Fox Athletic Complex. The East Elgin Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team of Henry Scott, Khanan Hernandez, Joey Yaw and Morgan Siemans, advanced to the final. The foursome had the fourth fastest qualifying time.
Parkside Stampeders Alyssa Gordon placed 15th in senior women's high jump (1.50 metres).
The three day meet continues until Saturday.

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. - Evan Stevens, Libby McCurdy, Taylor Kana and Henry Scott are heading to OFSAA as regional winners. The quartet of athletes won their respective events on day two of OFSAA West regional track and field Saturday at Jacob Hespeler Secondary school in Cambridge. Stevens set a Dorchester Beavers' school record, breaking 50 metres for his first time, winning junior men's javelin with a throw of 52.29 metres. East Elgin Eagles Kana won junior women's javelin by over four metres with a personal best (PB) throw of 42.74 metres. McCurdy, of St. Joe's high school, who almost bowed out at 2.95 metres, won clearing 3.15 metres in junior women's pole vault. Scott capped his incredible two day meet off by winning the novice men's 200-metre dash in 24.02 seconds. The East Elgin Eagle also finished second in the 100 dash, sixth in long jump and led the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team to second place. The top four in each event advance to OFSAA, high school provincial championships, June 8-10 at the Terry Fox Complex in Ottawa.

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. - Nabeel Haliru finally accomplished a goal he's had in mind since Grade nine. The Dorchester Beavers athlete is heading to OFSAA, the high school provincial championships in track and field, winning senior men's high jump, Friday at OFSAA West regional track and field at Jacob Hespeler Secondary school in Cambridge. Four athletes including Haliru made 1.88 metres, his personal best (PB), but all missed attempting 1.91 metres. Haliru took top spot with the fewest misses at previous heights. He had just one, at his opening height. East Elgin Eagles Henry Scott won silver in the novice men's 100-metre dash, finishing in 11.71 seconds, behind London Central's Nagil Asamoah's winning time of 11.69 seconds. In the evening, Scott lifted the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team from a battle between fourth and fifth, to a silver medal, with teammates Joey Yaw, Khanan Hernandez and Morgan Siemens. The top four in each event, advance to OFSAA, June 8-10 at the Terry Fox Complex in Ottawa.

LONDON, Ont. - Henry Scott is consistent. The East Elgin Eagle consistently finishes behind a record setting performance. In each of Scott's three individual events, the novice men's 100 and 200 metre sprints and long jump, a meet record was either broken or tied, on day two of Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) track and field Friday at Western University. Scott finished second (11.38 sec.) to London Central's Nagil Asamoah's record time of 11.25 seconds in the 100 and second (23.56 sec.) to Banting's Khaleel Miller's 200 metre time of 23.42 seconds. Scott placed third in the long jump (5.64 metres), behind Asamoah, who tied the meet record (6.17m) Scott anchored the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team to fourth place.
East Elgin Eagles Taylor Kana set a meet record in junior women's javelin with a throw of 39.40 metres a few metres shorter than her personal best of 41.07. Teammate Darah Farrow placed third, increasing her PB three times to 29.69 metres.
The Dorchester Beavers placed third in the overall boys standings and won the junior men's team title.
Fernando Medina led the junior team, winning 3000 metre run, with teammate Ryan Johnson finishing second. Dorchester Mya Steller won the junior women's 300-metre hurdles and finished fourth in the 200-metre dash. Teammate Devan Lucas won the junior boys 300 hurdles in a three second personal best time of 43.34 seconds.
The top five in each event at WOSSAA advance to the OFSAA West regional, June 2-3, at Hespeler secondary school in Cambridge.

LONDON, Ont. - Dorchester Beavers Tegan Ceccanese and Andrew Urquhart, St. Joe's Rams Libby McCurdy and Parkside Stampeders Alyssa Gordon are golden. Each athlete won events on day one of WOSSAA track and field Thursday at Western University. Ceccanese won the open women's 2000-metre steeplechase, winning the event by 10 seconds in seven minutes and 44.39 seconds. Gordon shared gold with St. Andre Bessette's Raquel Scratch, in senior women's high jump, both clearing 1.51 metres.
McCurdy won junior women's pole vault, clearing 3.15 metres.
Urquhart took gold in novice boys shot put with a best throw of 13.05 metres. East Elgin Eagles Henry Scott finished second in the novice men's 100-metre dash (11.36 seconds), third in long jump (5.64m) and helped the Eagles' novice men's 4x100-metre relay team to fourth place.
St. Joe's Noah Pollnow placed second in senior men's discus (36.60m). Rams' Mara Kemmerling was second in the junior women's 80-metre hurdles (12.90 sec.).

LONDON, Ont. - Seven records fell at this year's Thames Valley Regional Athletics Association (TVRAA) track and field championships. East Elgin Eagles Taylor Kana and St. Joseph's Libby McCurdy are among the seven athletes that set new marks at the meet May 17-18 at Western University. Kana won junior girls javelin by over 15 metres, breaking a 39-year old record held by former East Elgin Eagle Karen Perry, with a throw of 41.07 metres. McCurdy cleared three metres in junior women's pole vault, raising the Tri-County record from 2.72 metres, previously held by WCI's Katy McGoffin since 2015.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - Lily Ryder scored in overtime lifting the Parkside Stampeders to a 3-2 win over the Dorchester Beavers, in the girls final, at the Gemini Cup. Dorchester led 2-1 at half, on goals by Lexi Wylie and Cali Beattie.
Paton Lessard scored twice in regulation time for Parkside. "I was really impressed with our ball movement," said Ryder, Parkside captain. "We kept our intensity up throughout the whole tournament even though we were exhausted."
The Stampeders blanked Ingersoll, 4-0 and St. Joe's, 2-0, with Grayson Moore in net. Bella Nolte had two goals in both Dorchester's 6-0 win over Woodstock C.I and 4-0 shutout of Simcoe. Shaelyn Linton and Megan McLaughin, both had two goals, while Wylie and Julia Ritchie, one each.

Placing first were Tegan Ceccanese, in the open girls' two-kilometre steeplechase, in eight minutes and 2.95 seconds (8:02.95), Evan Stevens, junior boys javelin (40.75 metres), Kirk Hallman, novice boys 1500-metre run (4:34.89) and Luke Bradish, a nine way tie in junior boys high jump (1.60 metres).

LONDON, Ont. - Libby McCurdy set a meet record, winning gold in junior girls pole vault, with a personal best leap of 3.20 metres, today at the Forest City Mustang Invitational track and field meet at Western University. The St. Joe's athlete crushed the former best mark of 2.75 metres, set in 2019, by WCI's Breanna Egan. McCurdy tied the record on her second jump of the day and never missed until attempting 3.30 metres. Rams' Matt Piekny won senior boys pole vault clearing four metres.

INGERSOLL, Ont. - Luka Palajsa repeated as boys singles winner, at Thames Valley Regional Athletics East Division junior badminton, Tuesday at Ingersoll District Collegiate. The top four in the each of the five disciplines advance to the South-East championships, April 25 at Huron Park high school in Woodstock. Dorchester sends nine athletes including Palajsa to the South-East tournament. Caleb Steyaert and Greyson Doherty, in boys doubles and Thea McLellan and Isabel Siew, in girls doubles, both placed second. Finishing fourth were Megan McLachlin, in girls singles, Noah Ament, in boys singles, and Josh White and Shivani Vimal, in mixed doubles. The Huron Park Huskies captured the overall team title, winning three events, Peyton Cowan in girls singles, girls doubles and boys doubles. Woodstock CI's Noah Clements and Claire Harmer won mixed doubles.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - Samantha Heng defended her title as Thames Valley Regional Athletics East division senior ladies badminton champ. The Lord Dorchester Beaver defeated Avery Prangley, of Woodstock College Avenue, in the final, at the TVRA East Division senior championships, April 13 at Glendale high school. Beavers' David Johnston and Ben Steyaert won the mens' doubles title, while teammates Ben Luksys and Owen Doherty, placed fourth. Placing third for LDSS, Jocelyn Pollard and Emily Deane in ladies doubles and Josh Vanderlaan, in men's singles. College Avenue took the team title. The top four in each of the five disciplines advance to the TVRA South-East championships.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - It was a fun yet competitive tournament to conclude the ringette and high school winter sports seasons. Woodstock St. Mary's Warriors went undefeated, going 5-0, to capture the eight team Gemini Classic, edging Dorchester Beavers Red, 2-1, in the final, April 6, at the Tillsonburg Community Centre. Most teams had a number of hockey players trying ringette for the day.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Ryan Johnson scored twice, while Sam Willsie and Carson Smith each had a goal and an assist, as the Dorchester Beavers blanked Woodstock Huron Park, 5-0, in game three of the TVRA South-East boys hockey semifinal.
Dorchester wins the series two games to one. Dave Johnston also scored and Fernando Medina picked up two assists. Goalie Ben Steyaert had the shutout. The Beavers head to Tillsonburg
for game one of the best of three South-East final.

LONDON, Ont. - Emma Beggs is returning to OFSAA while Siena Begeman makes her debut. Both athletes won each two individual races at the WOSSAA swimming championships Feb 15 at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, automatically qualifying for the high school provincial championships, Feb 29 - March 1 in Windsor. Beggs took gold in the open girls' 100-metre breaststroke (1:15.61) and 200-metre I.M. (2:37.81) and helped the East Elgin Eagles' 200-metre medley (2:13.91) and 400-metre freestyle (4:40.17) relay teams win gold. Begeman finished first in the open girls' 100 (1:05.88) and 200-metre (2:24.18) free races, repeating the feat the Grade 10 Parkside Stampeder achieved at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics meet one week earlier. All race winners at WOSSAA automatically qualify for OFSAA. On Wednesday, February 22nd, OFSAA will announce the remainder of the 50 qualifiers for each event from across the province.

LONDON, Ont. - Emma Beggs left the pool at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) swimming championships with four medals. Beggs won the open women's 100-metre I.M. and 100-metre breaststroke, finished second in the 100-metre back and guided the East Elgin Eagles' open women's 200-metre medley relay team to gold, during the meet, February 8-9, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Siena Begeman, of the Parkside Stampeders, won the open women's 100 and 200-metre freestyle races and placed fourth, in the 50-free. Stampeders' Alexis Gray was as good as one-two-three, winning the high school division 14 years and under 50-free, second in the 100-free and third, in the 50-back.

LONDON, Ont. - Both Lord Dorchester Beavers' junior boys volleyball and senior girls basketball teams took home silver medals, from their respective WOSSAA 1-A tournaments. The Beavers' senior girls lost in the gold medal basketball game to Wingham Madill, at Gabriel-Dumont school. At Westminster secondary school, Goderich defeated Dorchester, three games to one, in the gold medal volleyball match.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Sydney Champion dropped 23 points leading the Dorchester Beavers over Woodstock CI Red Devils (WCI), 40-26, in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) 1-A senior girls basketball final, today, at Lord Dorchester Secondary school. The Beavers move to the WOSSAA tournament, at Gabriel-Dumont school, in London, Wednesday, November 16. On Tuesday, at West Elgin Secondary school in West Lorne, the Beavers' junior boys volleyball team won the TVRA 1-A title. Dorchester beat WCI, three games to one in the final, winning 25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 25-23.

LONDON, Ont. - Four Lord Dorchester Beavers and two St. Joseph's Rams' teams are heading to OFSAA cross-country. Tegan Ceccaese is returning to the high school provincial cross country championships, after placing fifth, in the senior girls race at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association WOSSAA meet, held at Springbank Park. Three years ago, Ceccanese was a member of Dorchester's novice girls team that ran at OFSAA. This year, three male runners will join Ceccanese at OFSAA. Kirk Hallman finished second in the novice boys race, while Ryan Johnson and Fernando Medina, were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the junior boys race. The top two teams from each division and the top five individual runners, not with those top two teams, qualify for OFSAA, November 5, at Dagmar Ski Resort, near Uxbridge.

STRATHROY, Ont. - Beavers and Rams dominated the trails. The Lord Dorchester Beavers and St. Joseph's Rams, are the overall boys and girls team champions, at Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County cross country championships, at the Gemini Sports Park. In rainy, windy and very cool conditions, runners strived to qualify for the WOSSAA championships, next Thursday, at Springbank Park, in London. Dorchester took the novice and senior boys team titles and placed second in junior. The Beavers had three individual race champions - Kirk Hallman, novice boys, Ryan Johnson, junior boys and Tegan Ceccanese, senior girls. The top 20 runners from each race and the top three teams in each division, advance to WOSSAA.

LONDON, Ont. - Both of the St. Joe's Rams junior boys and novice girls won their second team title, at the Bronco Invitational cross country meet, Thursday, at Springbank Park. The junior boys had four in the top 15, with Lucas Skirtschak, finishing eighth, Ty Emre, ninth, Fowler Little, 13th and Noah Baker, 14th. St. Joe's edged London Bessette, who had the top two runners, by six points, in the team standings. The novice girls handily won their division, led by Alex Fangeat, finishing 11th. Sadie Dowsell, Flourish Nmor and Clara Lascelles, round out the Rams' top four.
Dorchester Beavers had four top 10 individual results. Ryan Johnson and Fernando Medina, finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in junior boys. Tegan Ceccanese was fifth, in senior girls and Megan McLachlin, ninth, in novice girls. The Beavers' senior boys were third as a team and the junior boys, fourth.
Parkside Stampeders' Andrew Monteith and Noah Derganc, finished fourth and eighth, respectively, in the senior boys' race.
Central Elgin Titans Brody Mann finished 10th, in junior boys.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Annika Nolte is the 2022 Ms. Soccer for the Thames Valley Regional Athletics South-East Division. The Dorchester Beaver helped lead the team to the school's first OFSAA soccer title, June 4. Nolte led the Beavers in scoring this season, including 11 goals at OFSAA, one coming in the 2-1 win for the gold medal.

BELLE RIVER, Ont. - The Dorchester Beavers are OFSAA champions. Annika Nolte and Mya Steller, with the winner, scored as the Beavers edged Smithville Christian, 2-1, in the OFSAA single-A girls soccer gold medal game, at the Atlas Recreation Centre. BELLE RIVER, Ont. - The Dorchester Beavers are playing for an OFSAA championship. The Beavers go for the OFSAA single-A girls soccer title against Smithville Christian. Smithville Christian upended top seeded Glengarry, 3-1, in their semifinal. Annika Nolte with two goals and Bella Nolte scored, as Dorchester blanked MacKenzie, from Deep River, 3-0, in a semifinal this morning.

TORONTO, Ont. - Four local athletes stood on the podium, on day two of the OFSAA track and field championships, at York University. Dorchester Beavers Evan Stevens, won silver, in novice men's javelin (44.71m), just three centimetres short of winner Jack Brownlee, of Fonthill. St. Joseph's Rams Aiden Coles, in the senior men's 1500-metres and Libby McCurdy, in novice women's pole vault (2.65 metres), both won silver medals. St. Joseph's Rams Tristan Coles, took bronze, in the senior men's 1500 metres (3:51.14).

BELLE RIVER, Ont. - The Dorchester Beavers are back playing for am OFSAA medal. Annika Nolte scored twice and Bella Nolte and Mya Steller, had a goal each, as the Dorchester Beavers blanked Lakefield, 4-0, in the quarterfinals, at the OFSAA single-A girls' soccer championship. Dorchester faces MacKenzie Community school, from Deep River (north of Petawawa), in a semifinal, Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. The Beavers finished pool play with a record of three wins and a tie. Jenna Couch had the lone goal in a 1-0 win against Oakvile Sainte-Trinitie. Mya Steller and Lexi Wylie scored in a 2-2 tie with Cambridge E.S Pere de Rene de Galinee. In 2019, Dorchester finished fourth, at the high school provincial tournament.

WINDSOR, Ont. - It was a good start for the Dorchester Beavers at OFSAA. The Beavers won both games on day one of the single-A girls soccer provincial championship, defeating Sudbury L'Horizon, 7-3, before blanking host Windsor Lajeunesse, 4-0. The Beavers jumped out to a 3-0 lead, before L'Horizon's striker Kiara Levar scored two of her three goals, making it a 3-2 game. Then Dorchester took over, with Annika Nolte finishing with four goals and Madie Benjamin, three.
Annika Nolte had three more goals and Mya Stellar one, chipping in a cross from Nolte, as the Beavers did their best, at not only silencing the Lajeunesse
players but also their fans.

LASALLE, Ont. - Evan Gillies accomplished a four year goal. The two athletes were champions on day two of the OFSAA West regional track and field meet, at Sandwich secondary school. It may have took Gillies in to his fifth year at Lord Dorchester secondary school, but the senior is heading to his first OFSAA, winning senior men's pole vault with a personal best (PB) 3.45 metre leap. The top four in each event advance to OFSAA, June 2-4, at York University in Toronto.

is a double gold medalist. The Dorchester Beaver won the senior women's
110-metre hurdles and 30 minutes later, triple jump, at the OFSAA West regional track and field championships, at Sandwich secondary school.
Rand hop, skipped and jump her way to a winning measurement of 11.37 metres, 25 centimetres more than second place Brianna Vamos, of Holy Trinity. Prior to her win at the pit, Rand won hurdles in 15.49 seconds. In the heats, Rand set a personal best time (PB) of 15.11 seconds. The top four in each event, advance to OFSAA, June 2-4, at York University, in Toronto.

STRATHROY, Ont. - The Dorchester Beavers are returning to OFSAA. Annika Nolte scored four times as Dorchester shut out the Holy Cross Centurions, 5-0, in the WOSSAA single-A girls soccer gold medal match, at Van Dyk Park. The Beavers edged London Christian, 2-1, in the semifinals. McKenna Brown also scored for Dorchester, with keeper Kayle Smith posting the shutout. Annika Nolte struck three times as Dorchester dumped the Central Elgin Titans, 9-2, in the TVRA South-East 1-A girls' final. LONDON, Ont. - The Parkside Stampeders senior boys are team champions. Led by double gold medal winning runners, Mason Basson and Ethan Dolby, the Stampeders took home the team title, on day two of the WOSSAA track and field championships, today, at Western University. However the team of Basson, Dolby, middle distance runner Vincent Moore, steeplechasers Justin Cole and Zachary Roberts-Neef and thrower Alistair Maciver, didn't get to celebrate as a group at the meet. A miscount gave London Oakridge the award, until the error was later realized.

The Beavers beat the Central Elgin Titans, 6-2, in TVRA girls' soccer, improving to 4-0 in league action, Monday, at 1Password Park. Carter Lawrence netted two goals, while Grant Ferguson, Javi Flores and Nefi Islami, each had one, as the Titans edged Dorchester, 5-4, in a the boys' match. LONDON, Ont. - Dylen Belanger, of the St. Joe's Rams, won the senior boys' 110-metre hurdles, in 15.19 seconds and the 400-metre run, in 52.64 seconds, at the Forest City Mustang Invitational Wednesday.
The track and field meet at Western University is the first one for high school since 2019. Seven additional athletes from Elgin County and Dorchester won events.

TILLSONBURG, Ont. - Three shutouts in four games carried the Dorchester Beavers to the girls division title at the Gemini Cup, at the Tillsonburg Minor Soccer Park. Julia Ritchie, Maddy Benjamin and Annika Nolte scored in a 3-1 win over London Lucas, in the final.
The Beavers silenced London South, 6-0, the Parkside Stampeders, 3-0 and Tillsonburg Glendale, 4-0. Parkside defeated St. Joe's, in the girls' third place game. In the boys' final, Ingersoll beat St. Joe's.

LONDON, Ont. - Back in February, Luka Palajsa had never held a badminton racket and the only birds he knew were the ones chirping from the trees. Three months later, Palajsa was one step away from a medal, at the WOSSAA junior badminton championships, at Saunders Secondary School. The Lord Dorchester student finished fourth in boys' singles. His two losses were to the silver and bronze medal winners.
Also placing fourth were the West Elgin Wildcats boys doubles' team of Josh Mosher and Jordan Timmermans. Central Elgin Titans Rebecca Nurton finished in the top eight in girls'
singles.

STRATHROY, Ont. - The OFSAA drought continues for South Division schools. No one from the South or Lord Dorchester, advanced from the WOSSAA senior badminton championships, but two individuals and two teams did place in the top eight.

WOODSTOCK, Ont. - Luka Palajsa made quick work of the opposition in boys' singles, while mixed doubles' pair of Avery Henshal and Caleb Steyaert played as long as they could. The end result was the same, with Palajsa and Henshal and Steyaert taking gold, in their respective disciplines. Their wins led the Lord Dorchester Beavers to the team title, at the TVRA South-East junior badminton championships, at Huron Park secondary school.

ST. THOMAS - Selecia Wall and Ella Cattrysse have been best friends since early in their elementary school days. No surprise the self described "partners in crime since kindergarten" are a force in girls' doubles with the East Elgin Eagles.
Wall and Cattrysse handily won the girls' doubles title, going 4-0 without dropping a game, at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) South-East Division senior badminton championships, at Parkside C.I.
Dorchester Beavers' Samantha Heng and Evan Boldt took longer routes than Wall and Cattysse, but both left with gold medals as well. Their first place finishes carried Dorchester to the team title.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - An undefeated record wasn't going to faze the Central Elgin Titans. Coming in as underdogs, the Titans were facing the Lord Dorchester Beavers, the first place finishers in junior girls volleyball, for the Thames Valley Region Athletics 1-A South-East division. Dorchester did not drop one game througout the regular season and had defeated Central Elgin twice. However in the final, the Titans rose to the occasion, taking a thrilling best of five match.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - In the return of high school basketball, both the East Elgin Eagles and host Dorchester Beavers were simply happy to be playing. Dustin Farrow poured in a game high 31 points, as the Eagles defeated the Beavers, 54-37, in Thames Valley Regional Association senior action.
Will English led the Beavers with 24 points.
In junior action, Jaiden Sebinigana scored 16 points in 12 minutes to lead the Beavers past the Eagles, 64-44. Tyson Currah and Chris Hardeman, both had 10 points for Dorchester. Kurtis Frisen had a game high 20 points for the
Eagles.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Annika Nolte was looking for a change of scenery without being too far from her hometown. The Grade 12 student at Lord Dorchester Secondary school found what she was looking for at Nipissing University, in North Bay. Nolte accepted an athletic scholarship, studying physical health and education and to continue her soccer career, starting this September.

St. Joe's, the school with by far with largest amount of runners, handily captured the overall team title, by winning five of the six divisions, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics Tricounty cross country championships. The Dorchester Beavers' senior girls prevented a St. Joe's sweep of the division titles, for senior, junior and novice boys and girls. Dorchester's Hannah McIntyre took the senior girls' individual gold medal. East Elgin Eagle Adrianna Borm was the junior girls' champion.

ORWELL, Ont. - Muddy and slick conditions welcomed runners to the Springwater Invitational cross country meet but the rain stopped prior to the first race. Schools from across the Thames Valley region converged on Springwater Conservation Area for the annual meet that was cancelled a year ago. The St. Joseph's Rams won both the junior and novice boys team titles. Jayden McMullen led the Rams in the junior race finishing third. Rams' Noah Bakker and Fowler Little were third and fourth, in the novice race.

LONDON, ON. - It was a pair of agonizing five game defeats for the gold medal. The Lord Dorchester Beavers were edged in both the senior and junior Western Ontario Secondary School Association (WOSSAA) 1-A girls' volleyball championship matches, at Westminster Secondary School. In the senior tilt, the London Monsignor Bruyere Panthers squeezed by the Beavers, in the fifth and deciding set, to capture gold and advance to OFSAA, taking the match 27-25, 18-25, 15-25, 25-21, 16-14.

LONDON, ON. - Julie Boyko was Houdini-like to escape a near pin, Gavin Eldridge kept quick on his feet and Brady Johnson seized an opportunity. Boyko (64-kg), Eldridge (61-kg), Johnson (130-kg) are returning to OFSAA, after qualifying at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) wrestling championships, at Banting Secondary School. Nine athletes will represent Parkside at OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, March 2-4, in Sault Ste. Marie.
Joining the trio of OFSAA returnees for the trip north, are gold medalist Jeremy Anderson (boys' 44-kg), silver medalists Cole Moore (boys' 89-kg), Cadence Hardwick (girls' 44-kg), Emma Penner (girls' 77-kg) and Kira Buck (third, girls' 83-kg) and Melody Wilton (115-kg). Parkside brought home the WOSSAA overall combined team title. The Lady Stampeders
were team champions, while the boys were second behind London Saunders.

LONDON, ON. - Alyssa Voros made a good choice returning to the pool.
The East Elgin Eagle is heading to the OFSAA swimming championships in three events, including the High School Division 15 years and over 100-metre back, an event Voros won at Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) swimming.
East Elgin dominated in pool at WOSSAA, not only sending 15 swimmers to OFSAA championships, but capturing the team award at the championships, held at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.
Aiden Currah, the lone competitor for Dorchester, placed second qualifying for OFSAA in the open boys' 100-metre free.

SUDBURY, ON. - The St. Joseph's Rams are on top of the provincial cross country mountain. Rams' Aiden Coles, Tristan Coles, Brent Haggerty, Aiden Holder and Harrison Belanger, captured the junior boys' team title, at the OFSAA cross country championships, here at Kivi Park. Not only was St. Joe's the only school to score under 100 points, the Rams won by 57 points over second place St. Francis Xavier, from Mississauga. It's the first OFSAA gold in cross country for the school. Aiden Coles finished eighth in the race with 256 runners.

LONDON, ON. - Two teams and four individuals will represent St. Thomas - Elgin County and Dorchester at the OFSAA cross country championships.
The Dorchester Beavers' novice girls won the team title, held at the WOSSAA championships, at Fanshawe Golf Club. Hannah McIntyre led the way finishing fourth, Jenna Wideman was 14th, Devin Dance, 20th, and Tegan Ceccanese, 23rd.
The St. Joseph's Rams ran away with the junior boys title, placing five runners in the top 10. Aiden Coles was second, followed by Tristan Coles, third, Brent Haggerty, fourth, Harrison Belanger, eighth and Aiden Holder, ninth.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen was fourth in the senior girls' race and Ram Cerena Aitken-Guignard placed second in the junior girls' race. Parkside Stampeders' Mason Basson and Vincent Moore, were fifth and 11th, respectively, in the junior boys' race. Ram Will Mantel placed seventh in the novice boys' race, grabbing fifth individual spot to qualify for OFSAA. Former Mitchell Hepburn Mustang, now attending London Oakridge, Sydney Murdock, finished third, in the novice girls' race.
The top two teams and top five individuals not on those two teams, advance to OFSAA, November 2, in Sudbury.

Heading into the high school cross country season, Dorchester Beavers' coach James Tennant knew the talent he had returning to the school, including a junior boys' team that advanced to OFSAA a year ago, now running at the senior level. DORCHESTER, ON. - The St. Joseph's Rams have continued what the team started as novice boys last season.
Aiden Coles won the four kilometre junior boys' race at the Dorchester Invitational, the first Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) cross country meet of the season.
Coles finished the route in 13:52, followed by his brother Tristan and teammates Brent Hagerty and Aiden Holder, in second, third and eighth place, respectively. The Rams handily won the junior boys' team title.
Last November, St. Joe's placed eighth as a team in novice boys, formerly titled midget boys, at OFSAA, the high school provincial championships.
St. Joe's Ram Diego Alban-Gasca won the para race, followed by teammate Gabriel Dala.
The host school had three top 10 results. Hannah McIntyre was fourth, in the novice girls' race, Connor Erb, fifth, senior boys and Ashley Legg, ninth, junior girls. DORCHESTER, ON. - It is a new look for the Thames Valley Region Association (TVRA) South-East division. For the first time at the senior level for girls' basketball and boys' volleyball, there is a combined regular season schedule for the 1A and AA schools. The Parkside Stampeders, the lone 3A school in the South-East region, have moved to the Central Division. Senior girls' basketball in the South-East has 10 teams, including the Arthur Voaden Vikings, Central Elgin Titans, Dorchester Beavers, East Elgin Eagles and West Elgin Wildcats. The same local schools have senior boys volleyball teams.

GUELPH, ON. - Since last summer East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen and Chatham-Kent's Emma Pegg have formed a friendship. Well, aside for about those two minutes and 14 seconds every time they step on to the track for an 800 metre race. Pegg and Knelsen finished one-two in the junior women's 800 metre run, on day three of the OFSAA track and field championships. Dorchester's Brianna Rand set a personal best (PB) time of 45.44 seconds grabbing the silver medal in the midget women's 300-metre hurdles. Parkside's Mason Basson just missed the podium finishing fourth in the midget men's 800 metre run.

STONEY CREEK, ON. - The Dorchester Beavers will be playing for an OFSAA medal. The Beavers defeated Tecumseh Lajeunesse, 1-0, in a shutout, during the OFSAA 1A girls' soccer quarterfinals. The game was scoreless through regulation and overtime. Dorchester takes on Cornwall La Citadelle, in a semifinal, 9 a.m. Saturday. The other semi has Ottawa Louis Riel against Alexandria Le Relais. The Beavers finished pool play with two wins and two ties, finishing one point behind Breslau Woodland Christian, a team they beat 2-1. After a pair of ties on day one, Ashley Legg and Sarah Smith scored in the victory over Woodland Christian, last year's 1A champions. GUELPH, ON. - Crossing the finish line Tayah De Sousa covered her face realizing she was an OFSAA champion.
The Central Elgin Titan won the junior women's 80-metre hurdles, in a personal best time of 11.43 seconds, with her dad, grandparents and coaches watching, at OFSAA track and field, at Guelph University.
De Sousa is the first Titan to win OFSAA gold since 2013, when Riley Bell was
the provincial long jump and triple jump champion.

GUELPH, ON. - Arthur (A.J.) Stanat is an OFSAA champion in discus for a second consecutive year. The Parkside Collegiate student threw 52.65 metres to win the junior men's event, on day one of the OFSAA
track and field championships, at Guelph University. A year ago, Stanat was the midget men's discus champion.

CAMBRIDGE, ON. - No better way to advance to OFSAA than winning an event with a personal best effort. Four local athletes, Dorchester's Leaha Johnston and Brianna Rand, Parkside's Mason Basson and Central Elgin's Hannah Onyema, did just that feat and are now heading to the provincial high school meet as event champions, from day two of the OFSAA West regional track and field meet, at Jacob Hespeler high school. Johnston won junior women's javelin, Rand finished first in the midget women's 300-metre hurdles and Onyema took the junior women's shot put crown. Basson won the midget men's 800-metre run and was second in high jump, a day after finishing third in the 1500 metres, qualifying for OFSAA in all three events. The top four in each event from the regional meet, advance to this year's Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championships, June 6-8, at the University of Guelph. In total from both days of the meet, 14 athletes in 23 events, representing Central Elgin, Dorchester, East Elgin Parkside and St. Joseph's high schools, advanced to OFSAA.

LONDON, ON. - Michael Roth is back and healthy. The Parkside Stampeder won the senior men's 200 metre sprint and placed second in the 400-metre hurdles, a day after winning the 400 metre run, at the WOSSAA track and field championships, at Western University. Fellow Stampeder Mason Basson, also qualified in three events, winning the midget men's 800 metre run and high jump on day two, after placing second in the 1500 metres.

STRATHROY, ON. - OFSAA, the Dorchester Beavers are coming back. For the second consecutive season, the Beavers won the WOSSAA single-A girls' soccer title, to earn a spot at the provincial high school tournament. Sarah Smith scored twice and Avery Dance, Maddy McLellan and Annika Nolte each had one goal, as the Beavers dumped the South Huron Sabres, 5-1, in the 1A gold medal game, at Van Dyk Park. OFSAA is June 6-8, in Ancaster.

TILLSONBURG, ON. - Both the Dorchester boys and girls' teams are heading to Strathroy for the WOSSAA 1A event. Annika Nolte and Hannah Vickers scored and Julie Piper was in net for the shutout, as the Lady Beavers blanked the Central Elgin Titans, 2-0, in the South-East 1A girls' final. On the boys' side, Mirsad Novak-Hasic, with two goals, Aiden O'Brien and Willian Legg scored, to lead the Beavers over the Titans, 4-0.

LONDON, ON. - Tayah De Sousa may have had all four of her events on the same day, three within a two hour span, but that didn't slow the Central Elgin Titan on day one of the WOSSAA track and field championships. De Sousa won gold in both the junior women's 80-metre hurdles and long jump, placed second in the 100-metre sprint, and helped the Titans' junior women's 4x100-metre relay team finished fifth.
The top five in each event advance to the OFSAA West regional meet, May 31-June 1, in Cambridge. Fellow Titan Hannah Onyema won junior women's discus. A.J. Stanat, of Parkside C.I. won gold in junior men's shot put and discus, while fellow Stampeder Michael Roth took gold in the senior men's 400 metre run. East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen finished first in the junior women's 1500 metres, while Nathaniel Abell was second, in the open men's steeplechase.

DORCHESTER, ON. - A year after advancing to the OFSAA girls' soccer quarterfinals, the Dorchester Beavers have higher aspirations. The Beavers took step one closer to their season's goal, by advancing to the Thames Valley Regional Athletics South-East 1A final, with a 9-0 shelling of the West Elgin Wildcats, in their semifinal, at the Thames Centre soccer fields.
Hannah Vickers burned the Wildcats four times, while Avery Dance had two goals and Michaela Farrugia, Leiha Hunt, Katie McDonald and Annika Nolte, one each.

LONDON, ON. - It was a question East Elgin Eagles' coach Jon Loney had to think and long and hard about for an answer. Even after several minutes and tossing around a few names, Loney couldn't recall the last time an East Elgin athlete won three gold medals at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics track and field championships. That is exactly the feat accomplished by Eagles' freshman Julie Nagelhout, by winning midget girls' javelin, long and triple jumps, during the two day meet, held at TD Stadium, May 15-16th.
The top 10 athletes in each event at TVRA, advance to the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) championships, at TD Stadium, May 23/24.

LONDON, ON. - The Elgin East Eagles' ladies doubles team of Selecia Wall and Ella Cattryse
was the top result for Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) South-East, at the Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) junior badminton championships, at Saunders Secondary School. Cattryse and Wall placed fifth, with a record of 3-2.
St. Joseph's Ram Connor Dupuis also went 3-2 in men's singles. Dupius was the silver medalist at the District championships, losing the final match, two games to one to a London Christian player.
Going 2-2 at WOSSAA were both Eagles' Rachel Sawatzky and Central Elgin Titan Sherah Kuiper, in ladies' singles and Dorchester's Leaha Johnston and Eric McLellen,
in mixed doubles.

STRATHROY, ON. - Their remarkable career came to end just short of the desired goal. West Elgin Wildcats' girls' doubles team of Ashley Tucker and Katie Bradshaw placed fourth, for the second consecutive season, at the WOSSAA senior badminton championships, at Strathroy DCI.
Tucker and Bradshaw were the top result from the TVRA South-East division, finishing with a record of 3-2.
East Elgin Eagles' boys' doubles team of Matthew Abell and Brian Dyck, Dorchester's Victoria Quance and Kyle Morris and East Elgin's Alyssa Voros and Correy

THOMAS - Rachel Sawatzky (girls' singles), Selecia Wall and Ella Cattrysse (girls' doubles) led the East Elgin Eagles to the team title, at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) South-East Division junior badminton championships, at Parkside C.I. Dorchester's mixed doubles team of Leaha Johnson and Eric McLellan won gold, defeating Voros and Vansevenant in the final.

MISSISSAUGA, ON. - The Dorchester Beavers' ultimate frisbee team placed sixth overall at the opening tournament of the season, at the Hershey Centre. The Beavers finished second, at 2-1, in pool A, defeating both Mississauga John Fraser and Mississauga T.L. Kennedy and losing to host Brampton David Suzuki. In the playoff round, Dorchester fell 10-6, to Hamilton Westdale, the eventual tournament champions, and defeated Brampton Louise Arbour. The 16-team tournament featured mostly AA and AAA schools, in with Dorchester, an 1A school.

OTTAWA, ON. - Gavin Eldridge is an OFSAA silver medalist. The Parkside C.I. student was undefeated before losing in the boys' 57.5-kilogram gold medal match to Roman Wawryk, of Kitchener C.I.
The scorecard favoured Wawryk, 14-6. In the semifinals, Eldridge again beat his long time WOSSAA rival, Diego Worsley, of London Beal. Parkside teammate, Maddie King was sixth, in the girls' 47.5-kilogram division.
Patrick Salvador, a student at London Mother Teresa, who trains with the St. Joseph's Rams, is the boys' 77-kilogram OFSAA champion. Salvador beat Sukhman Gosal, of Turner Fenton, in the gold medal match.
Dorchester's Josh Smith placed fifth, in the 72-kilogram class.

LONDON, ON - The Parkside Stampeders and Dorchester Beaver both brought home silver while the St. Joseph's Rams won bronze, at WOSSAA girls' hockey. Parkside was defeated by now six time WOSSAA champion Medway Cowboys, 4-1, in the AAA final, Tuesday at Stronach Arena. Dorchester fell to the Clinton St. Anne’s Eagles, 6-1, in the A/AA final, Monday, at Stronach. St. Joe’s left a heart-breaking 6-5 loss to Dorchester, behind in the A/AA semifinals, to win the bronze medal, crushing London South, 8-1.

DORCHESTER - The farewell tour continues. For the first time since 2014 the Lord Dorchester Beavers are heading to the WOSSAA tournament, after sweeping the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South-East girls' hockey best of three final. Emma McKnight had a hat trick for a second consecutive game and Hannah Vickers picked up five assists, leading the Beavers to a 6-2 defusing of the Ingersoll Blue Bombers, in game two at the Flight Exec Centre.

LONDON, ON - Twenty athletes from the Parkside Stampeders, St. Joseph's Rams, Dorchester Beavers and Central Elgin Titans, are heading to OFSAA. Two spots in each weight class at the WOSSAA championships, were available for the high school tournament, March 5-6, in Ottawa.
Parkside won the overall team title, led by gold medalists Maddie King (girls' 47.5-kg), Gavin Eldridge (boys' 57.5-kg), Peyton Brodie-Grubb (girls' 61-kg), Cole Moore (83-kg) and Brady Johnson (boys' 130-kg). Julie Boyko (girls' 57.5-kg) took home silver, while Emma Penner (girls' 61-kg) and Steph Boyko (girls' 67.5-kg) won challenge matches, grabbing a qualifying berth in their respective weight class.
St. Joe's sends Liam Bacon (boys' 61-kg), Mary Clare Haasen (girls' 64-kg), Krystian Krzyzewski (boys' 89-kg), Kendall Dettloff (girls' 54-kg), Patrick Salvador (boys' 77-kg) and Thomas Fortier (boys' 95-kg).
Dorchester has Kolton Reading, (boys' 38-kg) Nick Lynch (boys' 38-kg), Owen Bisschop (67.5-kg) and Josh Smith (boys' 72kg).

ST. THOMAS - A lot of it during practice has helped the Central Elgin Titans run to WOSSAA. The Titans capped an undefeated season in the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) region, by winning the South-East single-A junior boys' basketball final, dumping the Dorchester Beavers, 60-47, on home court at Central Elgin CI.
Jordan McDougall and Jack Tunstill led the Titans with 17 and 16 points respectively, while Gavin Barnhouse and Dilliard, both chipped in with eight points and Christian Vecchio had seven.
Dorchester's Owen Pink and Andrew Muir both scored a game high 18 points, accounting for 77 percent of their team's offence.
The WCI Red Devils captured the TVRA South-East 1A senior boys' basketball title, edging the Central Elgin Titans, 60-54, in the final.

ARVA, ON. - Four champions led the Dorchester Beavers at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Novice and Open Girls wrestling championships, February 8th, at Medway Secondary school.
Kolten Reading won novice boys' 35.1-kilogram class defeating teammate Nicholas Lynch in the final, while Liam Devine (55.3-kg) Josh Smith (71.7-kg) and Jordan Maudsley (63.7-kg) also won gold.
Leading the St. Joseph's Rams, were Noah Foley and Diago Silva, champions of the 51 and 61-kilogram weight divisions respectively.
Jacob Smits won silver at 42-kilos, while Evan Joers (95.7-kg) and Greg Chute (55.5-kg) both finished third and Patrick Maifrini, fourth, at 71.7-kg.

ST. THOMAS - A third quarter surge lifted the Central Elgin Titans past the Dorchester Beavers, 47-33, in a Thames Valley Regional Athletics South-East 1A senior boys' basketball semifinal, at CECI.
The Titans will host the South-East 1A final, taking on the Woodstock C.I. (WCI) Red Devils, for a berth in the WOSSAA tournament. Trailing the Beavers, 15-14 at half, the Titans outscored their East Division visitors 22-14 in the third frame.
Cole Verhulst delivered eight of his 12 points in the third stanza, while the Titans hit six of eight shots from the charity stripe.
In South-East junior semifinal action, the Titans dropped WCI, 53-37.

DORCHSTER - The Dorchester Beavers went 4-0 but weren't the champions at a junior boys basketball tournament they hosted on Friday and Saturday. Thanks Old Man Winter. Dorchester defeated Stratford Northwestern, Parkhill North Middlesex, and College Avenue and St. Mary's, from Woodstock. Owen Pink scored 60 points over the four wins, while Charlie Quance had 50 points and Andrew Muir, 36.

WOODSTOCK, ON. - Owen Pink led all scorers with 22 points, carrying the Dorchester Beavers to a 42-35 win against the Huron Park Huskies, in TVRA junior boys' basketball, at Huron Park secondary school. The Beavers drained seven three-pointers in the win. In senior action, Huron Park got by the Beavers, 50-43. Charlie Quance had 14 points for Dorchester. Both Dorchester teams are now 2-2.

DORCHESTER - Early deficits doomed both of the Lord Dorchester Beavers' junior and senior boys' basketball teams against Woodstock C.I., in Thames Valley Regional Athletics action.
The senior Beavers trailed by 26 points before pulling themselves back to within eight points, but fell 74-60. Owen Pink and Garrett Snyders led LDSS with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
In the junior tilt, the Beavers only found eight points in the first half, before discovering 28 second half points, in a 40-36 defeat. Johnny Ledgeley and Owen Pink had nine and eights, respectively.

DORCHESTER - Lord Dorchester Beavers' basketball opened their Thames Valley Regional Athletics season by defeating Ingersoll in both the junior and senior games. Garrett Snyders scored 27 points, leading the Beavers to a 59-44 win in senior action. Maaz Iqbal chipped in with 10 points. The Beavers hit 11 triples in the game. In the junior match-up, Owen Pink dropped 28 points as the Beavers dumped Ingersoll, 55-38. Charlie Quas the Ironman award after playing in both of the Beavers' games.

DUNDAS, ON. - The Owen Pink had the race of his career. The Lord Dorchester runner finished 19th in the junior boys' race, leading the Beavers' team to seventh place while posting the top individual local result, during the OFSAA cross country championships, at Christie Lake Conservation Area.
Following Pink, in an event featuring 276 runners, was Connor Erb, in 61st, Aiden Currah, 115th, Joshua Smith, 122nd and Dilpreet Sandhu, 136th.
Dorchester's Ashley Legg placed 39th in the midget girls' race.
The St. Joseph's Rams midget boys' team was eighth, led by Aiden Coles, finishing 52nd, in the race with 268 participants. Tristan Coles was 63rd, James Hill, 93rd and Harrison Belanger, 119th.

DORCHESTER - The Dorchester Beavers defeated both the West Elgin Wildcats and Voaden Vikings, to advance to the TVRA South-East A senior girls' basketball final.
Sarena Beaudry had 11 points in the Beavers' 41-9 win over West Elgin, in their semifinal. Victoria Quance put away 11 points while Ruby Sebinagana had 10 points to lead the Beavers over the Vikings, 52-19. Dorchester takes on Woodstock C.I. in the final, with the winner going to WOSSAA.

ORWELL, ON. - The Lord Dorchester Beavers and St. Joseph's Rams had huge days on the trails and now are heading to the biggest cross country meet of the season. Two teams and two individuals, from St. Thomas-Elgin and Dorchester, are heading to OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, following qualifying performances at WOSSAA, held at the Springwater Conservation Area. The top two teams in each of the six divisions and the fastest five individuals not on the top two teams, qualify for OFSAA, November 3, in
Dundas. Aiden Coles was the runner-up in the midget boys' race, leading St. Joe's to the team title. It's the third consecutive year a Rams team has qualified for OFSAA. Owen Pink finished second and Connor Erb was eighth, to lead Dorchester's junior boys' team to second place, behind London Oakridge. Dorchester's Ashley Legg placed second in the midget girls' race.
East Elgin Eagle junior Hallee Knelsen was third in her race and returns to the provincial meet. As a midget, Knelsen finished 26th last year at OFSAA.

WOODSTOCK, ON. - It was not hard to spot members of the Lord Dorchester Beavers or St. Joseph's Rams cross country teams. That is because they were running roughshod among the top 20 in each of the six races, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County championships, at Roth Park. The top four teams in each of the six divisions qualify for the WOSSAA championships, Thursday, October 25th, at Springwater Conservation Area. Any individual runner finishing in the top 20 in their respective race also moves on.
The top two overall boys and girls teams also qualify. By no surprise it was Dorchester and St. Joe's, respectively.
St. Joe's won the midget boys, midget girls and junior girls' team crowns. Dorchester was the junior and senior boys team champions, leaving Strathroy DCI with the senior girls' title.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen (junior girls), Ram Aiden Coles (midget
boys) and Beavers Ashley Legg (midget girls) and Owen Pink (junior boys) were
race champions.

LONDON, ON. - The reigning champions gave a lesson to the new kids on the block on how to remain the number one team. Renee Lammiman led the way scoring a hat trick, as the Parkside Stampeders won their third consecutive Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey title, defeating the Lord Dorchester Beavers, 9-0, in the final, at City Wide Fields. Parkside completes an undefeated run through TVRA, including shutting out the Strathroy Saints, 3-0, in their semifinal. The Stampeders advance to the WOSSAA game, against the Huron-Perth champion, Thursday at City Wide.

THEDFORD, ON. - Owen Pink finished third, followed by Connor Erb in sixth place, to lead the Lord Dorchester Beavers to the junior boys' team title, at the Widder Station cross country meet.
Dilpreet Sandhu placed 12th, Aidan Currah, 13th and Joshua Smith, 14th, rounding out Dorchester's top five runners, in the five kilometre race.
The St. Joseph's Rams didn't have the Coles brothers running, but that didn't prevent their midget boys from a fourth team title of the season. Harrison Belanger led the Rams finishing third, followed by James Hill, in 11th, Joel Bowden, 12th and Carson Bonnett, 34th.
Parkside Stampeders' Brent Hagerty and Mason Basson, were second and fourth, respectively, in the midget boys' four kilometre race. Dorchester's Ashley Legg was third in the midget girls' race, while Colson Erb led Dorchester in the senior boys' race finishing sixth. St. Joseph's Cerena Aitken-Guignard and Ashley Betencourt, placed eighth and 10th, respectively. Cerena's older sister, Arielle, placed seventh, in the junior girls' race. Diego Alban Gasca, from St. Joe's, was fifth, in the para race.

LONDON, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders will be the top team heading into playoffs. Wins over both the Medway Cowboys and Dorchester Beavers clinched first place in Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey, at City Wide Fields. ORWELL, ON. - Aiden and Tristan Coles were one-two, to lead the St. Joseph's Rams' midget boys, to a third team title this cross country season, at the Springwater Invitational, at the Springwater Conservation Area. Harrison Belanger followed the Coles brothers in sixth place, while Joel Bowden placed 16th.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen overcame not feeling well to finish second, behind junior girls' champion, London Aquinas' Victoria Lamb. Fellow Eagle Nathaniel Abell was fifth, in the senior boys' race.
Dorchester's Ashley Legg finished fourth in the midget girls' race, while St. Joe's Cerena Aitken-Guignard was sixth.

DORCHESTER - The Dorchester Beavers' junior boys team thrilled their fans on home turf. Led by Owen Pink, Connor Erb, Joshua Smith and Evan Gillies, Dorchester won the team title, at the Fairground cross country festival, the opening meet of the running season. Pink crossed the finish line third, completing the four kilometre route in 14:05, followed by Erb in sixth (14:41), Smith, 12th (14:44) and Gillies, 17th (15:10).
Aiden and Tristan Coles, finished second and third, respectively, leading the St. Joseph's Rams to first place in the midget boys' division.

UNION, ON - John Orlebar fired an 84 to win the TVRA Tri-County boys' golf individual A flight title, at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. The East Elgin secondary school golfer helped the Eagles' team place fourth.
With three scores in the 80s, the St. Joseph's Rams won the Tri-County team title by 12 strokes, with Brett Chapman (85), Owen McIntrye (86) and Aiden Shaw (89).
Jayden Boddy also carded an 85, to help Dorchester place third, while Luke Trowman led Parkside CI with an 88. In B flight action, Central Elgin Titan Rob Schivers led the way with an 81.-16.

TORONTO, ON. - Local athletes had six top 10 performances on day two of the OFSAA track and field championships,
at York Univeristy.
Central Elgin Titan Tayah DeSousa finished fourth, setting a personal best time, in the midget women's 80-metre hurdles, her second runnerup to the podium at the meet. On day one, De Sousa landed fourth in long jump.
St. Joseph's Ram Liam Clark was sixth in a talented field, for the senior men's 110-metre hurdles final. Clark has his stronger event, the 400-metre hurdles on Saturday.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen finished seventh, in the midget women's 1500 metres, with a personal best time of 4:19.10. Knelsen returns to the track on Saturday for the 800 metre run.
Also seventh was Parkside Stampeder Anij Sparenberg, in junior women's discus.
Central Elgin Titan Hayden Bell placed eighth, in the senior men's high jump, while fellow Titan, Hannah Onyema, was 10th, in midget women's shot put. Onyema throws discus on Saturday.
Dorchester's Leaha Johnston just missed the top 10, placing 12th, in midget women's javelin.

WINDSOR, ON. - Tayah De Sousa, Liam Clark and AJ Stanat, are heading to OFSAA as champions.
The trio won gold at the OFSAA West regional track and field championships, June 1-2, at the University of Windsor Stadium.
De Sousa, of Central Elgin CI, won midget women's long jump and finished second in the 80-metre hurdles, while Stanat, of Parkside CI, won midget men's discus and placed second in shot put. Clark, from St. Joseph's high school, won the senior men's 400-metre hurdles and finished fourth in the 110-metre hurdles.
Ten athletes in total from the St. Thomas - Elgin County and Dorchester area, qualified for OFSAA, the provincial high school championships, in Toronto, June 7-9.

LONDON, ON. - Lauren Gellner and Hannah Vickers scored as Dorchester edged the London Christian Pioneers, 2-1, in the WOSSAA 1A girls' gold medal game, at Windemere Field. The Beavers didn't let missing a few players because of the school's prom later in the day, prevent them from earning a berth at OFSAA. LONDON, ON. - The Dorchester and Elgin County area had seven athletes win 11 gold medals, led by the Central Elgin Titans with five to call their own, at the WOSSAA track and field championships, at TD Stadium. Titan Tayah De Sousa brought home two gold medals, winning both the midget women's 80-metre hurdles and long jump, while Hannah Onyema took top spot in midget women's shot put and discus. Parkside Stampeder Michael Roth is a triple champion, the fastest in the junior men's 300 and 400 metres races and 300-metre hurdles. ST. THOMAS - No one in the conference has been able to figure out how to defeat Lauren Wohlgemut. For the fourth consecutive season, the Lord Dorchester student won a Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South-East ladies' singles title, this year beating teammate Katie McDonald in the final, at the senior badminton championships, at Parkside Collegiate Institute.
Wohlgemut now owns a pair of TVRA South-East gold medals, from both the senior and junior levels. WINDSOR, ON. - Dana Earhart is a National silver medalist. The Dorchester native and Lord Dorchester secondary school graduate, helped the University of Guelph Gryphons' women's 4x800-metre relay team finish second, at the U Sports (Canadian University) indoor track and field championships, March 8-10, in Windsor. The 19-year old covered her 800-metre stretch in 2:12.65. The University of Toronto (U of T) Blues (8:43.93) won the gold medal ahead of Guelph (8:49.39). Earhart also placed eighth, in both the women's 1500 (4:29.01) and 1000 metres (2:50.67).
Katie Beaudry, a freshman with the Western Mustangs, just missed the podium, placing fourth in the women's pentathlon, compiling 3,404 points, from the five events.

WINDSOR, ON. - Owen Lynch is top five in the province.
The Grade nine student from Lord Dorchester secondary school (LDSS), finished fifth, with a 4-2 record, in the boys' 38-kilogram weight class, at the OFSAA wrestling championships, at the WFCU Centre. Lynch defeated Joey Williams, of London Saunders, in the fifth place match.
Lynch's Dorchester teammate Bailey Dowhaniuk was 1-2.
Maddie King, from Parkside CI, in the girls' 44-kilogram division and St. Joseph's Alex Cooper (girls' 83-kg), placed sixth, in their respective divisions. King was one win away from going for gold, but lost her semi-final match to Jessica Hong, the eventual gold medal winner, from Ottawa Sir Robert Borden high school.
Gavin Eldridge (boys' 57.7-kg), of the Parkside Stampeders, finished at 4-2, eliminated after losing to London Beal's Diego Worlsey, in a rematch of the WOSSAA gold medal final. Parkside's Steph Boyko (girls' 67.5-kg) went 3-2, Daniel Rattray (89-kg), 2-2 and Payton Brodie-Grubb (girls' 61-kg), 0-2.
St. Joseph's Nikky Laframboise (girls' 47kg) finished 3-2, while Mackenzie Miller (girls' 115-kg),

Arthur Voaden Viking Cadence MacLeod (girls' 115-kg) was 1-2.
Brayden Todd, an Ingeroll DCI student who trains at LDSS, due to no wrestling team at his school, won OFSAA gold for a fourth consecutive year. Todd quickly defeated Adriano Di Benedetto, of Hannon Bishop Ryan, 12-0, in the boys' 61-kg gold medal match. In previous years, Todd won gold at 44, 51 and 57.5 kilograms.

The Parkside Stampeders lead the way with five athletes, Daniel Rattray (gold, 89-kg), Gavin Eldridge (silver, 57.5kg), Payton Brodie-Grubb (gold, girls' 61-kg), Maddie King (gold, girls' 44-kg) and Steph Boyko (silver, girls' 67.5-kg).
St. Joe's Rams have three returning to OFSAA, Alex Cooper (gold, girls' 83-kg), Mackenzie Miller (gold, girls' 115-kg) and Nikky Laframboise (silver, girls' 47.5-kg).
Sam Gutmanis (silver, boys' 83-kg) and Dalton Holt (silver, 77-kg), will represent the Central Elgin Titans and Cadence MacLeod (silver, girls' 115-kg), the Arthur Voaden Vikings.
Lord Dorchester will have Owen Lynch (gold, boys' 38-kg) and Bailey Dowhaniuk (silver, boys' 44-kg). Brayden Todd (gold, boys' 61-kg), who attends Ingersol DCI, trains with the LDSS team and coach Jack Gunnell. OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, is March 6-7, in Windsor.

LONDON, ON. - Mac Watson and Briar McCaw are three-time WOSSAA gold medalists in the pool. The Parkside Collegiate Institute athletes, won every race entered, at the WOSSAA swim championships, at Western University. Both advance to OFSAA, February 27/28, in Windsor. Watson won the 14 years and under boys' high school division, 50-metre fly (30.38 seconds), 50m free (27.57 sec.) and 100m free (1:02.69). McCaw was the fastest in the 14 years and under girls' high school division, 50-metre fly (33.88 seconds), 50m back (36.73 sec.) and 100m I.M. (1:19.76).

LONDON, ON. - For the first time this century, the Lord Dorchester Beavers are WOSSAA junior boys' basketball champions. The Beavers shot out of the chute for an early lead and never looked back, on way to a 50-36 win over London Westminster, in the gold medal game, at the WOSSAA 1A tournament, at Monseigneur Bruyere school. Shortly following tip-off, the Beavers led 10-4. Powered by an offensive attack involving multiple players, LDSS was in command by half-time, up 24-12. Charles Quance led the way with 16 points, while Garrett Snyders had 13.

ST. THOMAS - Mac Watson is continuing where he left off from last season. The Grade 10 student at Parkside Collegiate Institute won the 50-metre freestyle, 100-metre free and 50-metre butterfly, in the 14 years and under boys' high school division, repeating a feat he accomplished a year ago, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics swimming championships, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Watson finished the 2017 swim season at OFSAA, bringing home a silver medal in the boys' 14 years and under 50 free and a bronze in the 100 free. Prior to the provincial high school championships, Watson touched the wall first in each of his three races, both at WOSSAA and TVRA. Parkside's Briar McCaw, St. Joseph's Kayla Keyes and Hailey Demeray, East Elgin Eagles Brennan Piche-LeClair and Haley Broer and Dorchester's Cloe Selinga, also made splashes at the meet.

ST. THOMAS - High school curling is in full sweep of the broom, with last year's boys and girls' TVRA South-East finalists, leading the way again this season. The East Elgin Eagles, the reigning South-East champs, skipped by Caitlyn Evely, sit atop the girls' standings, with a 4-0 record. The Eagles face Woodstock CI (3-0), on January 17. On the boys' side, East Elgin is 4-0, while Tillsonburg Glendale is 4-1. In the rematch of last year's South-East final that Glendale won, 10-9, the Eagles earned some revenge this season, beating Glendale, 7-5, last month. The Parkside Stampeders hosted the Dorchester Beavers today, at the St. Thomas Curling Club.

PETAWAWA, ON. - Hallee Knelsen is among the top 10 per cent for high school midget girls cross country in the province. The East Elgin Eagle finished 26th, in the midget girls' four-kilometre race, featuring 259 runners, at the OFSAA cross country championships, held at the Petawawa Golf Club. Connor Erb, of Lord Dorchester, was 74th, in the midget boys' four kilometre race. Arielle Aitken Guignard, of St. Joseph's, placed 114th, in the same race as Knelsen. The St. Joseph's Rams' senior girls' team of Kyleigh Stubbs, Jocelyn Delgado, Grace Gillet, Kaila Novak and Alyce McLean, placed 24th. Delgado led the Rams, finishing 111th, in the six kilometre race.

CLINTON, ON. - It wasn't Children of the Corn, but for Hallee Knelsen, Connor Erb, Arielle Aitken Guignard and the St. Joseph's Rams' senior girls' team, it was a memorable thriller around the corn field. The three individuals and the St. Joe's ladies, are OFSAA bound, after qualifying at the WOSSAA cross-country championships, held at St. Anne's high school. Knelsen placed third in the midget girls' 4-kilometre race, while Aitken Guignard followed in sixth place. Erb was eighth, in the midget boys' 4-km event. The top two teams, plus the top five individuals, not on those top two teams, in each division, advance to the OFSAA championships, November 4, in Petawawa. St. Joseph's top five senior runners were, Kyleigh Stubbs, Jocelyn Delgado, Grace Gillet, Kaila Novak and Alyce McLean. The course, located behind the school, took runners alongside a couple corn fields, igniting comments on movies with some association with the crop.

BELLEVILLE, ON. - As Katie Beaudry crossed the finish line for the senior women's 400-metre hurdles race, it signalled the conclusion of one of the most remarkable athletic careers at Lord Dorchester Secondary school. Beaudry will graduate having earned nine medals from OFSAA track and field - four gold, two silver and three bronze. She also has a hat trick of fourth place finishes including the 400-metre hurdles race today.

BELLEVILLE, ON. - Anij Sparenberg delivered a big throw on her first attempt and then waited to see if anyone could pass it. Only one could throw further, leaving Sparenberg as the OFSAA silver medalist in midget women's javelin, on day two of the provincial high school meet at Centennial high school. The Parkside CI athlete bested her personal best distance entering the competition three times, including the one that landed her on the podium, 33.04 metres. Dorchester's senior women's 4x100-metre relay team, of Emma McKnight, Megan Dunn and the Beaudry twins, Katie and Megan, just missed a medal, finishing fourth in a time of 48.78 seconds. Megan Dunn placed sixth in the senior women's 100-metre hurdles (14.72 seconds), while Megan Beaudry was eighth in the senior women's 400 metres final (57.86 sec.).

The Lord Dorchester athlete clocked in at 15.46 seconds, overcoming a slow start out of the blocks. The top two finishers in each of the three heats, plus the next two fastest times advanced. Now in grade 12, Lord Dorchester's Beaudry and Branderhorst, from London District Christian school, have become friends, pushing one another at every meet, year after year and usually sharing space on the podium. This year was no different, as Branderhorst and Beaudry finished one-two in the senior women's event, on day one of the OFSAA track and field championships, at Centennial high school.

LONDON, ON. - Megan Dunn and the Beaudry sisters, Megan and Katie, are heading to their fourth provincial high school track and field championships. Each of the three Lord Dorchester secondary school athletes qualified for OFSAA, in an individual senior women's event, at the OFSAA West regional meet, at TD Stadium. GODERICH, Ont. - Playing short-handed for a majority of the time was too much for the Dorchester Beavers. Host Goderich Vikings won the WOSSAA A girls' soccer title blanking Dorchester 4-0, in the gold medal game.
"Proud of the team for their effort. The girls played hard until the end. We had our chances and even had more possession than (Goderich),"
Dorchester coach Jason Thauer said. "Being short players hurt us for sure, especially playing two games."
Against Goderich, Dorchester had a mix of nine to 11 players on the field, due to injuries. In their semi-final, Dorchester played the entire game one player short, but still blanked Parkhill North Middlesex, 3-0. Hannah Vickers with two goals and Avery Dance scored, while goalie Julie Piper picked up the shutout.
In the TVRA final last week, Dorchester played the entire second half with only 10 players, due to injuries.

WEST LORNE, ON. - Hannah Vickers scored twice to lead the Dorchester Beavers in a 4-0 silencing of Glencoe, in the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) A South-East girls' soccer final, at West Elgin secondary school. Avery Dance and Lauren Gellner, on a penalty kick, also scored. Julie Piper picked up the shutout. "A great performance from the team," LDSS coach Jason Thauer said, adding Vickers and Gellner had dominating performances. Dorchester played the entire second half with only 10 players, due to injuries, but the Beavers' D-line limted the Glencoe offence.
In the boys' final, West Elgin won on home turf, downing Dorchester, 4-1.

WOODSTOCK, ON. - Megan Dunn continues to show why the Wofford College Terriers from South Carolina recruited her for a scholarship.
Dunn led the Lord Dorchester Beavers, at the Woodstock Spring Classic track and field meet, hosted at College Avenue secondary school, winning both the senior women's 200 metre sprint (26.63 seconds) and javelin (30.65 metres) and placing second in the 100-metre hurdles (15.44 sec.).
Zachary Earhart won the senior men's 400 metres (52.73 sec.) and placed fourth in the 200 (24.11 sec.) Emma McKnight was second in both the junior women's 200 metres (28.08 sec.) and long jump (4.28m).

Eleven LDSS athletes combined for 15 top five performances at the Royal City Invitational, at St. James high school. Todd didn't waste any time winning another OFSAA gold medal. His craving to have

The Grade 11 athlete at Ingersoll DCI won his third consecutive OFSAA

Brampton Turner Fenton, 10-0, in the 57.5-kilogram weight class.

Following a 3-7 season in the Thames Valley Region East Division, the Dorchester Beavers went 2-0 in the 1A playoffs, defeating the Voaden Vikings and Glencoe Gaels. Dorchester will face the tournament host in their WOSSAA 1A semi-final, on Thursday, 10 a.m., at Westminster high school in London. Westminster went 12-0 in the TVRA Central tier 2 division, prior to defeating North Middlesex High, 39-36, in their 1A final. Strathroy Holy Cross will play the Huron-Perth conference 1A rep, in the other semi-final. Holy Cross went 0-11 during the District regular season, but during their 1A playoffs upended Monseigneur-Bruyere and Gabriel-Dumont.

TIMMINS, ON. - A 12-9 fourth quarter helped the Carleton Place Bears hold on to defeat the Dorchester Beavers, 38-33, in round two, at the OFSAA A girls basketball tournament. Tied at 18, for half-time, Carleton Place grabbed a two point advantage in the third quarter. Katie Beaudry led Dorchester with 12 points and Megan Beaudry had eight. Bears' guard Madison Reid torched the Beavers for 33 points, including a trio of three-pointers during a 45 second span. Dorchester is bumped to the consolation side of the tournament and will face Queen Elizabeth District Warriors, from Sioux Lookout, at 8 pm tonight.

The eighth ranked Beavers rolled over 14th seeded University of Toronto school,

with 20. Kristen Bisschop, added 10 points and Megan Dunn, six.
Up next is 10th seeded Carleton Place, who lost their opening game to ninth

TIMMINS, ON. - Lord Dorchester is ranked number eight, at
the OFSAA 1A girls basketball tournament, starting Thursday. Dorchester enters
the 18-team three day event, as the Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic
Association (WOSSAA) champions and Thames Valley Regional East division winners.
The Beavers went 14-0 through those games.
Dorchester tips off their provincial quest, against the University of Toronto
school.
Welland E. S. Jean Vanier is seeded number one, followed by Sudbury LoEllen
Park, the co-host school Timmins O'Gorman High (Knights), Windsor Lajeunesse and
at number five, Elgin Rideau District High.
The Jean Vanier Lynx are the defending OFSAA champions and two years ago, the
provincial runnerup, both times facing Prescott Glengarry in the final.
Niagara's French-language Catholic high school, also won the provincial title in
2011 and 2012. Several members of the basketball team, also won OFSAA gold with
Vanier's soccer team, this past June.
LoEllen Park are the Northern Ontario (NOSSA) champions. Last month, at the
Sister Fay tournament, held at O'Gorman High, the host school beat LoEllen Park,
57-47, in the final.

ST. THOMAS -
Teams from St. Thomas - Elgin County and
Dorchester high schools, brought home six medals from the WOSSAA tournaments for girls
basketball and boys volleyball.
Lord Dorchester was the lone champion, winning the senior girls A basketball
championship, defeating St. Marys DCVI, 47-38.
The Parkside Stampeders made the senior girls' AA basketball final, but lost to
London Mother Teresa, 48-33.
At triple A basketball, the East Elgin Eagles won the bronze medal game at both
the senior and junior levels. The senior Eagles beat London CCH, 42-30, after
losing to London Lucas, 64-29, in their semi-final. Lucas features Sarah
Donavan, who recently signed a letter of intent to attend Davidson College.
In volleyball, the Parkside Stampeders were AA silver medalists, losing the
final to host Stratford Central.
East Elgin captured the bronze medal in AAA action, in a three game sweep of
London CCH. The Eagles lost to the eventual champions, London Saunders, in the
semi-finals.
The West Elgin Wildcats also took home bronze, dusting St. Marys DCVI, in three
games, at the 'A' tournament.

1A crown. Their only losses this season, were to a pair of OFSAA champions and an OFSAA silver medalist. LDSS lost twice at OFSAA, to the eventual A champions, Welland

CAMBRIDGE, ON. - It has been quite a debut season for Emma McKnight.
The Grade nine sprinter heads to the OFSAA track and field championships for three events.
McKnight finished second in both the midget women's 100 and 200 metre races and
helped the senior women place second, in the 4x100-metre relay, during the OFSAA
west regional meet,
at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School.

Athletic Association (WOSSAA) track and field meet, held at Western University.

ST. THOMAS - Christina Hertner almost quit track and
field. But after a year away from the sport, Hertner not only returns, she is
setting lofty goals. The Lord Dorchester secondary school athlete won the senior
girls' shot put and placed second, in discus, at the Thames Valley Regional
Tri-County track and field championships, at Parkside Collegiate.

TORONTO, ON. - Katie Beaudry glanced around the infield, took a breath,
exhaled and calmly expressed, 'It's finally over'. The
16-year Lord Dorchester Secondary school athlete had reason to be exhausted
following three events within four hours, at the top track and field meet of the
