Muscat with Ontario at field hockey Canadians

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Anna Muscat of St. Thomas is with Team Ontario at the Canadian U16 girls field hockey championships. Ontario missed advancing to the medal round. British Columbia teams brought home both gold and silver, while Alberta won bronze.
Muscat, heading into Grade 11 at Parkside Collegiate, plays ice hockey with the school team and the St. Thomas Panthers.

Parkside returns to TVRA field hockey final

LONDON, Ont. - Olivia Sutton scored the lone goal, as the Parkside Stampeders blanked Strathroy DCI, 1-0, in a Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey semifinal, at City Wide Sports Park. Lexie Sawyer picked up the shutout in net.
In the other semifinal, the Medway Cowboys blanked the East Elgin Eagles, to set up another Medway - Parkside clash, in the final.

Dennis buries two for Gryphons

GUELPH, Ont. - Braelyn Dennis scored twice as Guelph Gryphons shutout the McMaster Marauders, 7-0, in Ontario Universities Association (OUA) women's field hockey. Dennis, a fourth year forward from St. Thomas, has eight goals in five games.

Dennis scores twice for Guelph

HAMILTON, Ont. - Braelyn Dennis had the tying goal, helping the Guelph Gryphons come back to edge McMaster, 2-1, today, in Ontario Universities Association (OUA) women's field hockey. The fourth year forward from St. Thomas, studying biological science, has six goals in four games this season, for the 3-0-2 Gryphons.

Medway wins TVRA field hockey

LONDON, Ont. - The Medway Cowboys not only ran the table they kept it clean. Sid Arts scored the lone goal as the Cowboys blanked the Parkside Stampeders, 1-0, in the game featuring the two top teams from the round robin, at Thames Valley Region Athletics field hockey, at City Wide Sport Park. Medway never allowed a goal going 8-0 over the seven team two-day tournament. Parkside finished with a record of 5-2-1.

Field hockey teams clash in brief season

LONDON, Ont. - Their return to the field will be brief. Following a layoff due to the pandemic, seven high school teams returned Tuesday for their first action in almost two years at City Wide Sports Park. Seven teams, including the Parkside Stampeders, Central Elgin Titans, West Elgin Wildcats and East Elgin Eagles, played four games each, on day one of a two day round robin tournament for the Thames Vally Regional Athletics (TVRA).

Goodhue scores as Waterloo ties Guelph

WATERLOO, Ont. - Taylor Goodhue scored helping the Waterloo Warriors to a 2-0 lead at half. But the Guelph Gryphons, with Goodhue's former Parkside Stampeder teammates Amber Safadi and Braelyn Dennis, battled back for a 2-2 draw, in Ontario University women's field hockey this morning.

Goodhue gets best of former PCI teammates

GUELPH, Ont. - Taylor Goodhue had a big smile post game as the Waterloo Warriors defeated their local rival and the reigning Ontario University champion Guelph Gryphons, 2-1, tonight. Guelph features Goodhue's former teammates at Parkside Collegiate, Amber Safadi and Braelyn Dennis.

Lammiman hands Parkside sixth consecutive TVRA title

LONDON, ON. - One may call it a six pack or sixer. In bowling it sometimes refers to throwing six consecutive strikes.
For the Parkside Stampeders’ field hockey team, it could be for winning a Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) title for a sixth consecutive season and advancing to the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association final. The Stampeders repeated as TVRA champions for a fourth consecutive year, blanking the Medway Cowboys, 1-0, in the final, at City Wide Fields.
It’s the third time in four years Parkside has defeated Medway in the final and second time by a 1-0 count.

Local females fourth with Ontario West at field hockey Nationals

SURREY, B.C  - St. Thomas natives Braelyn Dennis and Amber Safadi and their Ontario West teammates placed fourth, at the U18 women's National field hockey championship.
Ontario Central defeated Ontario West, 2-1, in the bronze medal game. In an all B.C. gold final as the B.C. Stangs beat the B.C. Rams, 1-0.
The B.C. Rams defeated Ontario West, 4-1, in the semifinals. In Ontario West's final pool game on Saturday, Dennis scored four times in a 11-0 win over Alberta. Dennis also scored twice in a win over Quebec. Dennis heads to the University of Guelph next month, while Safadi returns to Parkside C.I.

Three Parkside players named to provincial indoor field hockey team

ST. THOMAS  - Three members of Parkside Stampeders' OFSAA silver medal winning outdoor team, have been selected for the provincial under-19 women's indoor field hockey team.
Braelyn Dennis, Taylor Goodhue and Amber Safadi were notified of their selection to the 14-player roster (12 players, two goalies) prior to Christmas, from three tryouts held in the Toronto area.

Parkside brings home OFSAA silver

BURLINGTON, ON.  - It is silver for the Parkside Stampeders. The St. Thomas school has their first medal from OFSAA field hockey, finishing second at this year's provincial tournament.
Breslau St. John's Kilmarnock Eagles won the OFSAA championship, edging Parkside, 2-1, in the gold medal game, at Nelson Athletic Park. Kendra Hulst gave Parkside a 1-0 lead, in the opening minute, but the Eagles struck back with two goals, all in the first half. The previous best result for Parkside was in 2008, when the Stampeders lost in the quarterfinals.
Several members of the Stampeders, including Hulst, have added field hockey silver to a pair of OFSAA gold medals in soccer.

Stampeders advance to OFSAA field hockey quarterfinals

BURLINGTON, ON.  ( 4 p.m.) - The Parkside Stampeders are going to where they have never gone before in field hockey. Aviva Fournie and Braelyn Dennis scored as Parkside edged Pickering, 2-1, in a quarterfinal this afternoon at Norton Park. Parkside faces Bill Cothers secondary school, from Unionville, in a semifinal, Saturday, 9 a.m. at Nelson Field. The Stampeders opened the scoring, before Pickering tied the game. Dennis replied with the eventual winner, with all goals coming in the first half. The previous best result for Parkside was in 2008, when the Stampeders lost in the quarterfinals.

Parkside go for a medal at OFSAA field hockey

OAKVILLE, ON.  ( 1 p.m.) - The Parkside Stampeders have advanced from pool play at OFSAA field hockey. Aviva Fournie scored twice and Kendra Hulst scored on a penalty flick, as Parkside wrapped up pool action, dumping Peterborough St. Peter, 6-0. Parkside finishes with two wins and one tie, tied for first in their pool, with Kitchener St. Mary's, who the Stampeders tied yesterday.
St. Mary's gets first on the tie-breaker, allowing one less goal over three games. The Stampeders play Pickering in a 2:30 p.m quarterfinal. Pickering went 3-0 in their pool, outscoring opponents, 6-1.
Taylor Goodhue, Paige Goodhue and Halle Szabo, completed the Stampeders' scoring against St. Peter.

Fournie takes Parkside to OFSAA field hockey

LONDON, ON. –  Maggie Gordon was vocal throughout the game. But the Parkside Stampeders' goalie was left speechless after her teammates qualified for OFSAA field hockey, blanking the Goderich Vikings, in the WOSSAA championship game. Aviva Fournie had the lone goal in the rematch of the final two years ago that Goderich won. Parkside returns to OFSAA for the first time since 2014. The tournament is November 1-3, in Burlington.

Parkside wins third consecutive TVRA field hockey title

LONDON, ON. –  The reigning champions gave a lesson to the new kids on the block on how to remain the number one team. Renee Lammiman led the way scoring a hat trick, as the Parkside Stampeders won their third consecutive Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey title, defeating the Lord Dorchester Beavers, 9-0, in the final, at City Wide Fields. Parkside completes an undefeated run through TVRA, including shutting out the Strathroy Saints, 3-0, in their semifinal. The Stampeders advance to the WOSSAA game, against the Huron-Perth champion, Thursday at City Wide.

Stampeders look beyond after clinching top spot in TVRA

LONDON, ON. –  The Parkside Stampeders will be the top team heading into playoffs. Wins over both the Medway Cowboys and Dorchester Beavers clinched first place in Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) field hockey, at City Wide Fields. Renee Lammiman, Savannah Williams and Grace Clinton scored, as Parkside blanked long time rivals Medway, 3-0. Lammiman, with two goals, Kendra Hulst and Grace Shackelton found the inside of the net, downing Dorchester 4-1. The Stampeders aim to get past WOSSAA and advance to OFSAA for the first time since 2014.
Dorchester will finish third in TVRA behind second place Medway.

South Huron edges Parkside in WOSSAA field hockey

EXETER, ON. –  A late goal lifted the South Huron Sabres over the Parkside Stampeders, 1-0, in the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) field hockey final, at South Huron secondary school. Parkside won the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) title, on October 19, blanking Medway, 1-0. The Stampeders never allowed a goal while going undefeated over nine TVRA regular season and playoff games.

Stampeders repeat as TVRA field hockey champions

LONDON, ON. –  The Parkside Stampeders are back to back field hockey champions. Kendra Hulst scored the game's only goal, midway through the second half, for a 1-0 shutout of the Medway Cowboys, in the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) final, at City Wide Fields. Goalie Vanessa Johnston picked up the shutout, without needing to stop a shot. The Stampeders move on to the WOSSAA championship, October 26, in Goderich. A year ago, Parkside beat Medway, 3-1, in the TVRA final.

Goderich edges Parkside for WOSSAA field hockey supremacy

LONDON, ON - Shea Frayne and Payten Lang potted goals, to lift the Goderich Vikings over the Parkside Stampeders, 2-1, in the WOSSAA girls' field hockey final, at City Wide Fields. Goderich moves on to the OFSAA championship for the third consecutive season. The Vikings were provincial silver medalists last year. Braelyn Dennis scored for Parkside.

Stampeders gallop over Cowboys in TVRA field hockey final

LONDON, ON - They were just one game short of running the table for an undefeated season, but the Parkside Stampeders won the biggest game of the Thames Valley Regional Athletics field hockey season. Murranda McCallum, Braelyn Dennis and Aviva Fournie scored, in a 3-1 win over their arch rivals, the Medway Cowboys, in the TVRA final.
