LONDON, ON. - The St. Joseph’s Rams won the consolation title,
at the Western University annual Purple and White boys’ basketball tournament, dumping Woodstock College Avenue, 62-47, led by 18 points from their tournament all-star, Owen Waterhouse. St. Joe’s lost their opening game to Ursuline, before edging Lucas, 49-47, thanks to 19 points from Tyson Dryflout.
In the senior division Xavier defeated Windsor Kennedy for the championship title. St. Joseph’s went 1-2 in the 16-team event, finishing with a 62-49 win over Totenham STA, led by Redmond Cunanan’s 19 points. The Rams lost to Barrie St. Joe’s, 59-43, in the opening round, before being edged by Tecumseh St. Anne’s, 40-39.

LONDON, ON. - Devonte Ballantyne scored four touchdowns to lead the London CCH Crusaders over St. Joseph's Rams, 38-6, cruising to the District senior football title, at City Wide Fields.
Keegan Vanek had an interception return for a touchdown and Julian Sanchez kicked a field goal and five single point converts. CCH led 38-0, before St. Joe's scored late in the fourth quarter with Luke Ainsworth finding the end zone.

DUNDAS, ON. - The Owen Pink had the race of his career. The Lord Dorchester runner finished 19th in the junior boys' race, leading the Beavers' team to seventh place while posting the top individual local result, during the OFSAA cross country championships, at Christie Lake Conservation Area.
Following Pink, in an event featuring 276 runners, was Connor Erb, in 61st, Aiden Currah, 115th, Joshua Smith, 122nd and Dilpreet Sandhu, 136th.
Dorchester's Ashley Legg placed 39th in the midget girls' race.
The St. Joseph's Rams midget boys' team was eighth, led by Aiden Coles, finishing 52nd, in the race with 268 participants. Tristan Coles was 63rd, James Hill, 93rd and Harrison Belanger, 119th.

ST. THOMAS – Anna Fox dropped 11 points and Emily Schnurr had five, as the St. Joseph's Rams ran away from the Regini Mundi Titans, 30-5, in District junior girls' quarterfinal basketball action, at S. Joe's high school. The Rams move to face Mother Teresa in the District semifinals.

ORWELL, ON. – The Lord Dorchester Beavers and St. Joseph's Rams had huge days on the trails and now are heading to the biggest cross country meet of the season. Two teams and two individuals, from St. Thomas-Elgin and Dorchester, are heading to OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, following qualifying performances at WOSSAA, held at the Springwater Conservation Area. The top two teams in each of the six divisions and the fastest five individuals not on the top two teams, qualify for OFSAA, November 3, in
Dundas. Aiden Coles was the runner-up in the midget boys' race, leading St. Joe's to the team title. It's the third consecutive year a Rams team has qualified for OFSAA. Owen Pink finished second and Connor Erb was eighth, to lead Dorchester's junior boys' team to second place, behind London Oakridge. Dorchester's Ashley Legg placed second in the midget girls' race.
East Elgin Eagle junior Hallee Knelsen was third in her race and returns to the provincial meet. As a midget, Knelsen finished 26th last year at OFSAA.

ST. THOMAS - Quinn Brown scored three touchdowns to lead the CCH Crusaders over the St. Joseph's Rams, 38-8, in District senior football, at St. Joe's high school. CCH finishes the regular season at 5-0, while the Rams are 3-2.

WOODSTOCK, ON. – It was not hard to spot members of the Lord Dorchester Beavers or St. Joseph's Rams cross country teams. That is because they were running roughshod among the top 20 in each of the six races, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County championships, at Roth Park. The top four teams in each of the six divisions qualify for the WOSSAA championships, Thursday, October 25th, at Springwater Conservation Area. Any individual runner finishing in the top 20 in their respective race also moves on.
The top two overall boys and girls teams also qualify. By no surprise it was Dorchester and St. Joe's, respectively.
St. Joe's won the midget boys, midget girls and junior girls' team crowns. Dorchester was the junior and senior boys team champions, leaving Strathroy DCI with the senior girls' title.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen (junior girls), Ram Aiden Coles (midget boys) and Beavers Ashley Legg (midget girls) and Owen Pink (junior boys) were race champions.

THEDFORD, ON. - Owen Pink finished third, followed by Connor Erb in sixth place, to lead the Lord Dorchester Beavers to the junior boys' team title, at the Widder Station cross country meet.
Dilpreet Sandhu placed 12th, Aidan Currah, 13th and Joshua Smith, 14th, rounding out Dorchester's top five runners, in the five kilometre race.
The St. Joseph's Rams didn't have the Coles brothers running, but that didn't prevent their midget boys from a fourth team title of the season. Harrison Belanger led the Rams finishing owed by James Hill, in 11th, Joel Bowden, 12th and Carson Bonnett, 34th.
Parkside Stampeders' Brent Hagerty and Mason Basson, were second and fourth, respectively, in the midget boys' four kilometre race. Dorchester's Ashley Legg was third in the midget girls' race, while Colson Erb led Dorchester in the senior boys' race finishing sixth. St. Joseph's Cerena Aitken-Guignard and Ashley Betencourt, placed eighth and 10th, respectively. Cerena's older sister, Arielle, placed seventh, in the junior girls' race. Diego Alban Gasca, from St. Joe's, was fifth, in the para race.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Joseph's Rams' defence shined brightly under the lights. Luke Ainsworth had touchdown runs of 12 and 21 yards, as St. Joe's blanked the Mother Teresa Spartans, 13-0, in a District senior football night game, at St. Joseph's high school.
St. Joe's is 2-1 in a tough District division that includes powerhouse London football schools, CCH and Aquinas.
The Rams' junior remains undefeated at 3-0, following a 52-7 crushing of the Spartans. Ethan Dolby caught three TD passes.

ORWELL, ON. - Aiden and Tristan Coles were one-two, to lead the St. Joseph's Rams' midget boys, to a third team title this cross country season, at the Springwater Invitational, at the Springwater Conservation Area. Harrison Belanger followed the Coles brothers in sixth place, while Joel Bowden placed 16th.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen overcame not feeling well to finish second, behind junior girls' champion, London Aquinas' Victoria Lamb. Fellow Eagle Nathaniel Abell was fifth, in the senior boys' race.
Dorchester's Ashley Legg finished fourth in the midget girls' race, while St. Joe's Cerena Aitken-Guignard was sixth.

LONDON, ON. - Aiden and Tristan Coles were one-two, in the midget boys' four kilometre race, at the Springbank cross country meet, leading the St Joseph's Rams to the team title.
Following the Coles brothers, were teammates Harrison Belanger, in 10th and Joel Bowden, 18th. Cerena Aitken-Guignard finished sixth, helping the St. Joseph's midget girls' team place third. Her older sister, Arielle, was 11th, in the junior girls' five kilometre race.
East Elgin Eagle Nathaniel Abell was fifth, in the senior boys' six kilometre race.
Central Elgin Titan Haylee Vlasman had Elgin County's top result for senior girls, finishing 35th, one position ahead of St. Joseph's Mary Claire Haasen.

DORCHESTER - The Dorchester Beavers’ junior boys team thrilled their fans on home turf. Led by Owen Pink, Connor Erb, Joshua Smith and Evan Gillies, Dorchester won the team title, at the Fairground cross country festival, the opening meet of the running season. Pink crossed the finish line third, completing the four kilometre route in 14:05, followed by Erb in sixth (14:41), Smith, 12th (14:44) and Gillies, 17th (15:10).
Aiden and Tristan Coles, finished second and third, respectively, leading the St. Joseph’s Rams to first place in the midget boys’ division.

UNION, ON - John Orlebar fired an 84 to win the TVRA Tri-County boys' golf individual A flight title, at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. The East Elgin secondary school golfer helped the Eagles' team place fourth.
With three scores in the 80s, the St. Joseph's Rams won the Tri-County team title by 12 strokes, with Brett Chapman (85), Owen McIntrye (86) and Aiden Shaw (89).
Jayden Boddy also carded an 85, to help Dorchester place third, while Luke Trowman led Parkside CI with an 88. In B flight action, Central Elgin Titan Rob Schivers led the way with an 81.-16.

TORONTO, ON. – Local athletes had six top 10 performances on day two of the OFSAA track and field championships,
at York Univeristy.
Central Elgin Titan Tayah DeSousa finished fourth, setting a personal best time, in the midget women's 80-metre hurdles, her second runnerup to the podium at the meet. On day one, De Sousa landed fourth in long jump.
St. Joseph's Ram Liam Clark was sixth in a talented field, for the senior men's 110-metre hurdles final. Clark has his stronger event, the 400-metre hurdles on Saturday.
East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen finished seventh, in the midget women's 1500 metres, with a personal best time of 4:19.10. Knelsen returns to the track on Saturday for the 800 metre run.
Also seventh was Parkside Stampeder Anij Sparenberg, in junior women's discus.
Central Elgin Titan Hayden Bell placed eighth, in the senior men's high jump, while fellow Titan, Hannah Onyema, was 10th, in midget women's shot put. Onyema throws discus on Saturday.
Dorchester's Leaha Johnston just missed the top 10, placing 12th, in midget women's javelin.

WINDSOR, ON. – Tayah De Sousa, Liam Clark and AJ Stanat, are heading to OFSAA as champions.
The trio won gold at the OFSAA West regional track and field championships, June 1-2, at the University of Windsor Stadium.
De Sousa, of Central Elgin CI, won midget women's long jump and finished second in the 80-metre hurdles, while Stanat, of Parkside CI, won midget men's discus and placed second in shot put. Clark, from St. Joseph's high school, won the senior men's 400-metre hurdles and finished fourth in the 110-metre hurdles.
Ten athletes in total from the St. Thomas - Elgin County and Dorchester area, qualified for OFSAA, the provincial high school championships, in Toronto, June 7-9.
Placing top four in their events were CECI Titans' Hannah Onyema (midget women's shot put and discus) and Hayden Bell (senior men's high jump); Parkside's Anij Sparenberg (junior women's discus) and Jack Carlson (midget men's 400 metres); East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen (midget women's 800 and 1500 metre races), and Lord Dorchester Beavers' Leaha Johnston (midget women's javelin) and Owen Pink (midget men's 3000 metres).

LONDON, ON. – The Dorchester and Elgin County area had seven athletes win 11 gold medals, led by the Central Elgin Titans with five to call their own, at the WOSSAA track and field championships, at TD Stadium. Titan Tayah De Sousa brought home two gold medals, winning both the midget women's 80-metre hurdles and long jump, while Hannah Onyema took top spot in midget women's shot put and discus. Hayden Bell won senior men's high jump.
Parkside Stampeder Michael Roth is a triple champion, the fastest in the junior men's 300 and 400 metres races and 300-metre hurdles. Fellow Stampeder Arthur Stanat, tossed out the farthest throws in both midget men's shot put and discus. East Elgin Eagle Hallee Knelsen won both the midget women's 800 and 1500 metre races. Dorchester's Abby Downing leaped to the midget women's pole vault title.

LONDON, ON. – From the Lord Dorchester Beavers capturing the men's and women's 1A overall team titles, to multiple gold medalists, including athletes with their first career wins, highlights were plenty, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) track and field championships, at TD Stadium. ST. THOMAS – For the fourth consecutive year, the St. Joseph's Rams captured the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) tennis team title.
The Rams won men's singles (Alex Craig) and mixed doubles (Addie Mailhout & Jack Ainsworth) titles and placed second in men's doubles (Sam Hardy & Denys Reid) and mixed doubles (Bryce Mailhot & Olivia Tasker). Central Elgin Titans' Emma Blewett and Holly Monteith won women's doubles and West Elgin Wildcat Taylor Schnekenburger won ladies' singles.

THOMAS – Jocelyn Delgado scored and keeper Jordyn Rady posted the shutout, as the St. Joseph's Rams improved to 3-0, blanking Strathroy Holy Cross, 1-0, in District girls' soccer, at St. Joe's high school. Over the three games, the Rams have out scored their opponents, 9-1, to sit in first place in the District's tier 2 division.

THOMAS – Following a one year absence after being cancelled due to weather, the Kettle Creek Invitational track and field meet, hosted by the St. Thomas Legion Club, had near perfect conditions this day. The wind was brisk at times, but the sun shined and the temperatures were ideal for athletes preparing for the upcoming championship meets, starting with the Thames Valley Regional, May 16-17.

Lucas won the boys' final edging Glendale, 2-1, on penalty kicks.

LONDON, ON. – Led by Michael Roth and Arthur Stanat’s winning performances, the Parkside Stampeders opened their 2018 track and field season with 17 top 10 results at the Forest City Mustang Invitational, at TD Stadium. The Central Elgin Titans, East Elgin Eagles, Lord Dorchester Beavers and St. Joseph’s Rams, also had athletes in the top 10, during a day that had single digit temperatures and a cold, brisk wind.

STRATHROY, ON. – Jocelyn Delgado has been carrying the torch for St. Joseph's Rams badminton, at her fourth consecutive WOSSAA, the past two years as her school's lone representative. Katie Bradshaw and Ashley Tucker have established themselves as one of the top female doubles team, finishing fourth at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) senior badminton championships, at Strathroy DCI.

LONDON, ON – Jocelyn Delgado, of St. Joseph's high school, qualified for her fourth WOSSAA in badminton, after placing fourth, in ladies singles, at the London District senior championships, at Catholic Central high school. The top four in each division (singles, doubles, mixed), moves on to WOSSAA, at Strathroy, Thursday, April 19. Alex Craig just missed advancing to WOSSAA, placing fifth, in men's singles.

WINDSOR, ON. – Owen Lynch is top five in the province.
The Grade nine student from Lord Dorchester secondary school (LDSS), finished fifth, with a 4-2 record, in the boys' 38-kilogram weight class, at the OFSAA wrestling championships, at the WFCU Centre. Lynch defeated Joey Williams, of London Saunders, in the fifth place match.
Lynch's Dorchester teammate Bailey Dowhaniuk was 1-2.
Maddie King, from Parkside CI, in the girls' 44-kilogram division and St. Joseph's Alex Cooper (girls' 83-kg), placed sixth, in their respective divisions. King was one win away from going for gold, but lost her semi-final match to Jessica Hong, the eventual gold medal winner, from Ottawa Sir Robert Borden high school. Gavin Eldridge (boys' 57.7-kg), of the Parkside Stampeders, finished at 4-2, eliminated after losing to London Beal's Diego Worlsey, in a rematch of the WOSSAA gold medal final. Parkside's Steph Boyko (girls' 67.5-kg) went 3-2, Daniel Rattray (89-kg), 2-2 and Payton Brodie-Grubb (girls' 61-kg), 0-2.
St. Joseph's Nikky Laframboise (girls' 47kg) finished 3-2, while Mackenzie Miller (girls' 115-kg), was 1-2.
Central Elgin Titans' Sam Gutmanis (boys' 83-kg) was 0-2 and Dalton Holt (77-kg), 1-2.
Arthur Voaden Viking Cadence MacLeod (girls' 115-kg) was 1-2.
Brayden Todd, an Ingeroll DCI student who trains at LDSS, due to no wrestling team at his school, won OFSAA gold for a fourth consecutive year. Todd quickly defeated Adriano Di Benedetto, of Hannon Bishop Ryan, 12-0, in the boys' 61-kg gold medal match. In previous years, Todd won gold at 44, 51 and 57.5 kilograms.

WINDSOR, ON. - Mac Watson won a bronze medal in the junior men’s high school division 50-metre fly, on day two of the OFSAA swimming championships. The Parkside Collegiate Institute athlete adds to his OFSAA medal collection, that includes a silver (50 free) and bronze (100 free) from a year ago. Briar McCaw, also of Parkside, won the B final, finishing ninth overall, in the junior girls’high school division 50-metre back and 15th, in the 50m fly.
Kayla Keyes, of St. Joseph’s high school, placed 16th, in the senior girls’ high school division 100-metre fly and 24th, in the 100m free. Brennan Piche-Leclair, of East Elgin secondary school, placed sixth, in the para men’s 100m free.

WINDSOR, ON. - Brennan Piche-LeClair is an OFSAA silver medalist. The 16-year old student at East Elgin Secondary school finished second in the para men’s 50-metre backstroke, at the OFSAA swimming championships. Piche-LeClair set a personal best time touching the wall in 47.78 seconds, lowering his best time from 49.11.
In the para men’s 50-metre free, Piche-LeClair finished sixth. Fellow Eagle Haley Broer was 17th, in the open girls’ 100m back (1:09.8).
Parkside C.I.’s Mac Watson finished fifth, in the junior men’s 50m free (26.86 sec.), just three-tenths of a second off of the podium, while the silver medal was won in 26.29 seconds.
Owen Gillet, of St. Joseph’s high school, was eighth in the para men’s 50m back. The 13-year also finished 17th, in the para men’s 50m free. Gillet's teammate Gabriel Dala, was 26th in the para men’s 50m free, but was disqualified in the para 50m back. In the para women’s 50m free, St. Joe’s Brooklyn Reiter was 26th.
Hailey Demeray, of St. Joe’s high school, placed 17th, in the junior girls’ 50m breaststroke (40.63 sec.).

LONDON, ON. – Fourteen wrestlers from St. Thomas and Dorchester schools are heading to OFSAA,
after placing first or second in their respective divisions, at the WOSSAA championships, at Banting high school.
The Parkside Stampeders lead the way with five athletes, Daniel Rattray (gold, 89-kg), Gavin Eldridge (silver, 57.5kg), Payton Brodie-Grubb (gold, girls' 61-kg), Maddie King (gold, girls' 44-kg) and Steph Boyko (silver, girls' 67.5-kg).
St. Joe's Rams have three returning to OFSAA, Alex Cooper (gold, girls' 83-kg), Mackenzie Miller (gold, girls' 115-kg) and Nikky Laframboise (silver, girls' 47.5-kg).
Sam Gutmanis (silver, boys' 83-kg) and Dalton Holt (silver, 77-kg), will represent the Central Elgin Titans and Cadence MacLeod (silver, girls' 115-kg), the Arthur Voaden Vikings.
Lord Dorchester will have Owen Lynch (gold, boys' 38-kg) and Bailey Dowhaniuk (silver, boys' 44-kg).
Brayden Todd (gold, boys' 61-kg), who attends Ingersol DCI, trains with the LDSS team and coach Jack Gunnell.
OFSAA, the high school provincial championships, is March 6-7, in Windsor.

LONDON, ON – St. Joseph's Ram Kayla Keyes won the 15 years and over girls’ high school division 50m free (33.27 sec.) and 100m free (1:08.12) and placed second in the 200m free, at the WOSSAA swim championships, at Western University. Both advance to OFSAA, February 27/28, in Windsor. Hailey Demeray, qualified for OFSAA, finishing second in the 14 years and under girls’ high school division 50-metre breaststroke (40.91 seconds). Owen Gillet, Gabriel Dala and Brooklyn Reiter, will all compete at OFSAA, in the para mixed 50 metre free and 50m back.

ST. THOMAS – The St. Joseph’s Rams were left broken hearted and it had nothing to do with Valentine’s Day. Following a first place finish in the London District league, the Rams’ season came to an abrupt end, crushed like a crumpled up rose, after being upended by the London John Paul Jaguars, 55-51, in a senior boys’ basketball semi-final, at St. Joseph’s high school. The Rams shot three for 23 from three point land. Mykal Donald had a game high 22 points for the Rams.

ST. THOMAS – Mac Watson is continuing where he left off from last season. The Grade 10 student at Parkside Collegiate Institute won the 50-metre freestyle, 100-metre free and 50-metre butterfly, in the 14 years and under boys’ high school division, repeating a feat he accomplished a year ago, at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics swimming championships, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Watson finished the 2017 swim season at OFSAA, bringing home a silver medal in the boys’ 14 years and under 50 free and a bronze in the 100 free. Prior to the provincial high school championships, Watson touched the wall first in each of his three races, both at WOSSAA and TVRA. Parkside's Briar McCaw, St. Joseph's Kayla Keyes and Hailey Demeray, East Elgin Eagles Brennan Piche-LeClair and Haley Broer and Dorchester's Cloe Selinga, also made splashes at the meet.

LONDON, ON. – Mac Watson led all local athletes at the final invitational swim meet before the championship season begins in February. The Parkside Collegiate Institute swimmer placed second in the boys’ 50-metre free, 50m fly and 100m free races, at the Winter Classic, January 11, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre (CGAC). Jillian Barlett led the St. Joseph's Rams placing fourth in the girls' 50-metre breast and sixth, in the 50m back. The 2018 TVRA swim championships are February 6-7, followed by WOSSAA, on February 15, both at the CGAC. OFSAA returns to Windsor, February 27-28.

ST. THOMAS – The St. Joseph's Rams are the lone unbeaten team in the District senior boys' basketball league. An offensive push late in the third quarter put the Rams up 15 points, before settling for a 49-39 win over the London Mother Teresa Spartans, at St. Joseph's high school. WOODSTOCK, ON. – Not only did the St. Josephs's Rams avenge their only regular season loss, they made school history along the way. The Rams won their school's first District junior boys' volleyball title, defeating the St. Mary's Warriors, three games to one (25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22), in the final, at St. Mary's Catholic high school. LONDON, ON. – On a field that resembled more of a snow covered backyard than a stadium, the St. Joseph's Rams couldn't find the desired traction. A punt return for a touchdown, two minutes in to the second half was the difference, as the London St. Thomas Aquinas Flames edged the Rams, 15-7, in a District senior football semi-final, at TD Stadium. STA led 8-0 at half-time, on a safety and touchdown.

ST. THOMAS – After shaking off some rust, the St. Joseph's Rams showed why they finished in top spot. The Rams advanced to the London District junior boys' volleyball final, caging the London St. Andre Bessette Bulldogs, by winning their semi-final three games to one, at St. Joseph's high school. St. Joe's dropped game one, 25-16, but thundered back with three consecutive victories, 25-17, 25-16, 25-22.
The Rams, the top team during the regular season, with a 10-1 match record (32-10 in games), head to the final, to face the Woodstock St. Mary's Warriors, Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic high school, in Woodstock.

PETAWAWA, ON. – Hallee Knelsen is among the top 10 per cent for high school midget girls cross country in the province. The East Elgin Eagle finished 26th, in the midget girls' four-kilometre race, featuring 259 runners, at the OFSAA cross country championships, held at the Petawawa Golf Club. Arielle Aitken Guignard, of St. Joseph's, placed 114th, in the same race. The St. Joseph's Rams' senior girls' team of Kyleigh Stubbs, Jocelyn Delgado, Grace Gillet, Kaila Novak and Alyce McLean, placed 24th. Delgado led the Rams, finishing 111th, in the six kilometre race.

LONDON, ON. - Mykal Donald and Willie Mboko scored touchdowns, as the St. Joseph's Rams eliminated the St. Andre Bessette Bulldogs, with a 28-7 win, in a District senior football quarter-final, at St. Andre Bessette. Luke Ainsworth kicked two field goals and Jack Ainsworth booted a single, for the Rams. St. Joe's defence held the Bulldogs scoreless, until a touchdown, with only 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The Rams face London STA, in a semi-final, at TD Stadium, on Friday.

CLINTON, ON. – It wasn't Children of the Corn, but for Hallee Knelsen, Connor Erb, Arielle Aitken Guignard and the St. Joseph's Rams' senior girls' team, it was a memorable thriller around the corn field. The three individuals and the St. Joe's ladies, are OFSAA bound, after qualifying at the WOSSAA cross-country championships, held at St. Anne's high school. Knelsen placed third in the midget girls' 4-kilometre race, while Aitken Guignard followed in sixth place. Erb was eighth, in the midget boys' 4-km event. The top two teams, plus the top five individuals, not on those top two teams, in each division, advance to the OFSAA championships, November 4, in Petawawa. St. Joseph's top five senior runners were, Kyleigh Stubbs, Jocelyn Delgado, Grace Gillet, Kaila Novak and Alyce McLean. The course, located behind the school, took runners alongside a couple corn fields, igniting comments on movies with some association with the crop.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Joseph's Rams waited until the final two minutes, to rally for a 20-15 win over the Regina Mundi Titans, in London District junior football, at St. Joseph's high school. Rams' Jackson Miller and Cameron Fast scored touchdowns within 37 seconds of each other, with only 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Titans had taken a 15-7 lead, earlier in the quarter. Rayden Aphayuong had first quarter major for the Rams, who improve to 2-1.

ST. THOMAS - The St. Joseph's Rams' offence was never able to get on track in a 14-3 loss, to the Regina Mundi Collegiate Titans, in London District senior football, at St. Joseph's high school.
St. Joe's led 3-0, at half-time, on a single and a safety. But the offence struggled without starting quarterback Alex Craig, out with an injury. Titan running back Otito Nwaogu took over in the second half, with yards gained on the ground and a pair of touchdowns.

ST. THOMAS – When taking on one of the premier high school football programs in Ontario, a team must be ready with a full tank of gas. The London CCH Crusaders opened the London District senior boys’ football season opener, blanking St. Joseph’s Rams, 35-0, at St. Joe’s high school. Scoreless after one quarter, the Crusaders jumped on a tiring Rams squad, by scoring three second quarter touchdowns, for a 21-0 lead by half-time. In the junior game, CCH shutout St. Joe's, by the same 35-0 score.

LONDON, ON. – Cole Barnes is back. Following a year away from the track due to a groin injury, the St. Joseph’s sprinter is returning to the form that made him a double bronze medalist at OFSAA in 2015. Barnes won the senior men’s 200 metres, a day after finishing second in the 100 metre sprint, at the Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) track and field championships.

Today, Lexus Clark, Haily Legacy, Lizzie Kelly and Breena Struthers, scored in a 4-0 shutout of London Christian. Just 24 hours earlier, Lexus Wilson and Mackenzie Mota, both had two goals, while Kelly, Struthers and Rebecca Brown had singles in a lop-sided blanking of Woodstock St. Mary's. WINDSOR, ON. - Kayla Keyes set two personal best times, placing ninth in the junior girls’ high
school 50-metre fly (33.99 seconds) and 17th in the 50m free (30.81), on day one
of the OFSAA swimming championships.
“It felt great because I met my goals I set for myself. I wanted to be 31 seconds or better for free and 34 seconds or better for fly," said Keyes, who competed for the second time. “It is an overwhelming experience due to the number of swimmers, but an amazing experience to meet swimmers from all over Ontario and see many talented swimmers.”
Cloe Seligna, of Lord Dorchester, placed 24th in the open girls’ 100-metre fly (1:09.2) and 37th in the 50 free (28.8 sec.).

BRAMPTON, ON. – Meredith Woodhouse finishes her high school career with a medal of each colour from OFSAA. Woodhouse advanced to her second consecutive OFSAA gold medal final in the girls’ 64-kilogram class, but was out-matched by Nyla Burgess of Pickering High. ST. THOMAS - Our local area has a champion and two silver medalists, from Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (WOSSAA) basketball and volleyball. The St. Joseph’s Rams won the WOSSAA AA junior boys' basketball crown, defeating Woodstock C.I., 54-40, in the final, hosted by Tillsonburg Glendale. The West Elgin Wildcats were no match for the host St. Marys Salukis, dropping the senior girls' A volleyball final in three straight games. For a second consecutive year, the Dorchester Beavers had to settle for silver, losing a thrilling junior girls’ A final, to Monseigneur Bruyere from London.

THOMAS - A four goal explosion in the first period carried the St. Andre Bessette Bulldogs over the St. Joseph’s Rams, 5-1, for a two games to none sweep, of their London District boys hockey semi-final, at the Timken Centre. LONDON, ON. - They are led by an OFSAA champion who could practice on her younger sister and brother if she wanted too. The St. Joseph’s Lady Rams repeated as team champions at the WOSSAA wrestling tournament, at Beal Secondary school. The girls winning and the Rams' boys placing fourth, carried St. Joe’s to the combined school title. The top two in each weight classes qualify for OFSAA, March 1-3 in Brampton. Meredith Woodhouse, who last year became St. Joe’s first ever OFSAA gold medalist in the sport, led the way winning her 64-kg weight class. Woodhouse was joined by sister, Sydney (54-kg), Alex Cooper (83-kg) and Mackenzie Miller (115-kg), on top of the podium. Bringing home silver medals were Nikky Lamframboise (47.5-kg) and Kailey Meehan (51-kg). Samantha Squires (57.5) took bronze.

LONDON, ON. - It was a type of game the St. Joseph’s Rams hadn’t experienced all season, trailing in the second half and truly having to play defence. Dominate throughout the London District junior regular season, placing first with an 11-0 record, the Rams had to go where they had not gone before. Forcing turnovers and clutch free throws late in the fourth quarter rallied the Rams past the London Mother Teresa Spartans, 36-32, in the league final, at Fanshawe College.

LONDON, ON. - Kayla Keyes has qualified for OFSAA in four events. The St. Joseph's Rams' swimmer qualified in each of her individual races and a relay, at the WOSSAA championships, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Keyes won the high school 14 and under girls' division 50-metre freestyle and placed second in the 50m butterfly and the 100m free. Keyes, along with team-mates Breanne Bonter, Haeley Demeray and Madison Morin, finished second, in the high school senior girls' 200-metre medley relay.

The Parkside Stampeders and St. Joseph's Rams, won the boys and girls' team titles, respectively, at the TVRA West conference wrestling championships, at Parkside CI. The two schools combined to have 40 athletes qualifying for WOSSAA, each with top five results. Parkside took the overall title, combining both the boys and girls' teams, followed by St. Joe's.

ST. THOMAS – Clayton Sturk is Mr. Volleyball, for the Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) South-East Division. Sturk helped the Parkside Stampeders win the TVRA South-East senior boys' AAA title and advance to the WOSSAA final. ST. THOMAS –
Teams from St. Thomas - Elgin County and
Dorchester high schools, brought home six medals from the WOSSAA tournaments for girls
basketball and boys volleyball.
Lord Dorchester was the lone champion, winning the senior girls A basketball championship, defeating St. Marys DCVI, 47-38.
The Parkside Stampeders made the senior girls’ AA basketball final, but lost to London Mother Teresa, 48-33.
At triple A basketball, the East Elgin Eagles won the bronze medal game at both the senior and junior levels. The senior Eagles beat London CCH, 42-30, after losing to London Lucas, 64-29, in their semi-final. Lucas features Sarah Donavan, who recently signed a letter of intent to attend Davidson College.
In volleyball, the Parkside Stampeders were AA silver medalists, losing the final to host Stratford Central.
East Elgin captured the bronze medal in AAA action, in a three game sweep of London CCH. The Eagles lost to the eventual champions, London Saunders, in the semi-finals.
The West Elgin Wildcats also took home bronze, dusting St. Marys DCVI, in three games, at the 'A' tournament.
