AYLMER, Ont. - Murphy Cosman scored 1:41 in to overtime to lift the Aylmer Spitfires over Port Stanley Sailors, 3-2. Ethan Berry and Carter Jackson put the Spitfires, 2-0, before Liam Kidder and Jordan Medeiros, tied the game for the Sailors.
Aylmer is 2-0 against Port Stanley this season and are also 2-0 in overtime, having edged Lucan,
2-1.

AYLMER, Ont. - Cale Arvai scored a hat trick to lead the Aylmer Spitfires to a 4-1 win, this afternon over the Port Stanley Sailors. Arvai put the Spitfires up 2-0 and 3-1. Jack Faulds also scored for the home team, while Ethan Berry had two assists.
Dylan Watson put the Sailors on the board, scoring on the power play with one second remaining in the second period.
The Spitfires are 2-1 in October, with a two game win streak on home ice, defeating Lucan, 4-1, on October 1. Aylmer only had four wins all of last season.
The Spitfires lost at Parkshill Friday, 9-3, to the North Middlesex Stars. Theoren Morrison with his first of the game and Tyler Taplay, gave the Spitfires a 2-0 lead six minutes in to the game. Stars' Marcus Kennes had a hat trick in the third period and Ethan Tichenoff finished with a goal and five assists.

AYLMER, Ont. - The Aylmer Spifires are in the win column. Ethan Barry scored unassisted four and half minutes in to overtime, lifting the home team over the Lucan Irish, 2-1 and giving the Spitfires their first win of the season.
Scoreless after one period, Logan Vandierendonck put the Irish on the board in the second period. Cohen McQueen tied the game mid way through the third period, with assists from Theoren Morrison and Dean Carey. Spits' goalie Riley Legacy made 54 saves.
Aylmer is 1-5 in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

DORCHESTER, Ont. - Two goals in a minute turned the fortunes of the Dorchester Dolphins. Paterson MacNair and Nicholas Shearer, scored 60 seconds apart, with under eight minutes remaining in the third, lifting the Dolphins over the Aylmer Spitfires, 5-4, in Provincial Junior Hockey. Aylmer held a 4-3 lead, thanks to their own two goals in a minute outburst, early in the third. Tyler Rennie and Hudson Andrews scored 46 seconds apart The Dolphins led 3-2 after 40 minutes, on goals by Shearer, Austin Connors, on the power play and Curtis Nogueira. Shearer and Nogueira, both had three point games. Noah Melady and Carson Appleford, also scored for the 'Spits. Dorchester out shot their guests, 50-38.

PORT STANLEY, Ont. - Kam Korab had the game winner and assisted on Aiden Shaw's opening goal, as the Port Stanley Sailors edged the visiting Aylmer Spitfires, 3-2, tonight in Provincial Junior Hockey. Trent Rickwood also scored, giving the home side a 2-1 lead in the second period. Tanner Strain and Jonathan Baur, replied for the Spits.

AYLMER, Ont. - Last season, the return to junior hockey was a long one for the Aylmer Spitfires. Winners of only four of 39 games in the Provincial Junior Hockey League, the Spitfires finished ninth of nine teams in the Yeck Division.
After the COVID pandemic wiped out the 2020-21 season, the Spitfires took the 2021-22 season off. The junior team returned with several changes among management and new faces behind the bench. Mike Woolley is the new head coach, switching roles with Dylan Thomas, last year's head coach, who remains as an assistant, along with Derek Folkard. Vance Stark and Jamie Harwood share general manager duties.

AYLMER, Ont. - Noah Melady scores twice and Ben Weejes has a goal and an assist as the Aylmer Spitfires defeat Dorchester Dolphins, 4-1, in the Provincial Junior Hockey League action this afternoon. Tyler Rennie for the Spits and Josh Short for the 'Phins, also score. Aylmer out shot Dorchester, 40-19. The Dolphins came up empty on five power play opportunities.

AYLMER, ON. - Connor Lacey pots two goals as the Aylmer Spitfires rally from a 2-0 deficit to dump the Port Stanley Sailors, 4-2, in the PJHL Yeck Division Josh Vanbesien and Richie Albert gave Port a lead four minutes in to the game. Dillon Ward, with the game winner and Dylan Vandersleen also score for the Spitfires.

DORCHESTER - Thus far in to the season the Aylmer Spitfires have got the better of their former head coach. The Spitfires beat the Dorchester Dolphins for a second time in the Provincial Junior Hockey League season, with a 4-3 win, on a late goal by Luke Regier. Aylmer also won at Dorchester, 5-4, on October 4th.

Noah Seguin and Tommy Zufelt, into an empty net, also scored for the Spits, now owners of a 5-4-0-0 record in the Yeck Division. Shane Koscis and Matt Bond drew two assists each. Lucan held leads of 2-0 and 3-1.

AYLMER, ON. - Brayden Smith netted his fourth goal in four games, leading the Aylmer Spitfires to a third consecutive win, downing the Thamesford Trojans, 3-1, in Provincial Junior Hockey Yeck Division action.
Spitfires' goalie Blake Zehr made 29 saves. Erik Scherer, on four goals and four assists and Connor Lacey,
three goals and five assists, lead Aylmer with eight points each.

DORCHESTER - Brayden Smith and Tommy Zufelt scored 1:11 apart mid third period, as the Aylmer Spitfires edged the Dorchester Dolphins, 5-4, in Provincial Junior Hockey Yeck Division action.
The Spitfires led 2-0 early before the Dolphins scored four consecutive goals, three coming with the man advantage.
Aylmer made it 4-3 with a power play goal of their own, coming with 12 seconds left in the second period.
Pete Vanderwyst, Connor Lacey and Myles Carlson, also scored for the Spitfires, now at .500, with a 3-3-0-0 record.
Austin Bisschop, with two goals, Brody Smith and Ryan Root replied for the Dolphins. Dylan Buckholz had three assists. At 1-2-0-0, it's a rare occurrence for the Dolphins to have a losing record.
The game had 67 minutes in penalties, but none in the third period. The Dolphins were three for nine, on the power play, while the Spitfires went one for seven.
Aylmer's Tanner Rickwood has been suspended for one game, related to a gross misconduct penalty in the second period.

AYLMER, ON. - Jake Weston scored the winner and added insurance on a late third period power play, as the Exeter Hawks defeated the Aylmer Spitfires, 5-2, in game one of the Provinicial Junior Hockey League Yeck Division first round series. Exeter led 2-1 after 20 minutes and 3-2 following two periods.
Pete Vanderwyst and Erik Scherer scored for Aylmer. Evan Hayter, Nolan Koetsier and the Yeck's rookie of the year, Carter McLlain, completed the Hawks' scoring.
Exeter out shot Aylmer, 54-25, making it a busy night for Spitfires' goalie Blake Zehr. The series heads to Exeter for games two and three.

AYLMER - The Aylmer Spitfires will be looking to ride their youthful spirit this post season. As the Provincial Junior Hockey League team enters the Yeck Division playoffs, the best of seven game series will feature a young roster up against a veteran laden team. Following a sixth place finish with a 15-24-0-1 record, the Spitfires take on the second place Exeter Hawks in the first round, starting Wednesday in Aylmer.

PARKHILL, ON. - Three consecutive goals over the final seven minutes carried the North Middlesx Stars pass the Aylmer Spitfires, 7-4, in Provincial Junior Hockey League action. Connor Richer, Dylan Vandersleen, Channin George and Shane Kocsis-Cochrane scored the Spits, who remain tied in sixth place with Lucan Bond.

AYLMER, ON. - Matt Bond had a hat trick and Dylan Vandersleen potted two goals as the Aylmer Spitfires rolled over a short-staffed Port Stanley Sailors team, 10-2. Aylmer takes all five games of the Battle of Elgin this season and improve to 14-20-0-1 in the Provincial Junior Hockey League Yeck Division. Bhrett Hibbert, Devon Kaplanis, Pete Vanderwyst, Sam Gredig and former Sailor Erik Scherer completed the Spitfire goal scoring. Luke Regier and Connor Lacey both picked up three assists, while Scherer, Kyle Hopper, Tanner Rickwood and Shane Koscis, had two helpers each.
Garrett Wells and Noah Crowley replied for Port Stanley.
The Spitfires had both of the game's only two minor penalties.
Aylmer continues to battle Lucan for sixth place, now tied with 29 points each.
The Spitfires are 5-5 over their past 10 games and improve their home record to
10-7-0-1. Scherer played 21 games with Port Stanley, before traded to Aylmer. After just a goal and five assists as a Sailor, the 19-year old Belmont native has eight goals and six assists in 12 games with the Spitfires.
With just three games remaining and six points back of eighth place Mt Brydges, the Sailors (4-29-0-4) will miss the playoffs. Over the past two weeks, the Sailors unloaded top scorers Tyler Foslett (17 goals, 13 assists) to Lambeth, Austin Muscutt (12G, 10A) to North Middlesex, captain Derek Smith (6G, 10A) to Exeter, defenceman Brady Allen (3G, 10A) to Lambeth and defenceman Dawson Maton to Lucan.

The Spitfires are 4-0 in the Battle of Elgin this season and improve to 11-18-0-1, seventh place in the Yeck Division. The Sailors are in danger of missing the playoffs, sitting in ninth spot, with a 4-24-0-4 record, two points behind Mt. Brydges. Peter Vanderwyst, Matt Bond and Devon Kaplanis also tally for the Spitfires. Noah Seguin picked up two assists. Nikolas Caetano and Lane Westgate replied for Port Stanley.

Dawson Maton gave Port a 1-0 lead. Aylmer wins their 10th game of the season and now lead Port Stanley, three games to none, in the Battle of Elgin. The teams meet twice more in the regular season.
The Spitfires move four points back of sixth place Lucan. Port sits in the cellar of the nine team division.

AYLMER, ON. - Dylan Vandersleen scored 19 seconds into overtime, completing a hat trick and an Aylmer Spitfires' comeback, for a 5-4 win over the Exeter Hawks, in Provincial Junior Hockey League action. The Spitfires trailed 3-0, before scoring four consecutive goals, thanks to Luke Regnier, Kyle Hopper and a pair from Vandersleen. Connor Lacey picked up two assist, including on the winner.
The Hawks forced overtime on Jarrett Baker's goal. Carter McLlwain with two goals and Tyler Merner also scored for Exeter.
Aylmer evens their home record at 7-7-0-1.

ST. THOMAS - The Aylmer Spitfires may have got away with a penalty but they will take the two points. In the second instalment of the battle Elgin County this season, Aylmer improved to 2-0 with Connor Richer scoring on the power play 3:19 into overtime, lifting the Spitfires over the Port Stanley Sailors, 5-4, in Provincial Junior Hockey League Yeck Division action, at Memorial Arena.
The Spitfires sit seventh in the Yeck with an 8-14-0-1 record, seven points behind sixth place Lucan
and seven points ahead of the Sailors.

AYLMER, ON. - Andrew Snowden gave the Aylmer Spitfires a 1-0 lead, but 25 seconds later it was all Lambeth Lancers. Carson Esipu tied the game, before Codey McRoberts, Anthony Scattalon shorthanded and Ray Robbins and Mitchell Jenner both on the power play scored, in a Lancers' 5-1 win. Lambeth now leads the best of seven Provincial Junior Hockey League series, two games to none.

LAMBETH, ON. – Andrew Fletcher scored two minutes into overtime, lifting the Lambeth Lancers over the Aylmer Spitfires, 5-4, taking game one of their Provincial Junior Hockey League Yeck Division first round series. The Spitfires sent the game into extra time, after Jake Morin scored on a five-on-three power play with five minutes remaining in the third period. James Collins, Ryan Van Roestel and Luke Regier, also scored for Aylmer. Brock Trichilo, Brody Smith, Mitchell Jenner and Jonah Goodman, had Lambeth leading 4-2, early in the third period.

PORT STANLEY, ON. – In the battle of Elgin County, the Port Stanley Sailors scored three times in the third period, to defeat the Aylmer Spitfire, 3-1, in Provincial Junior Hockey League Yeck Division action. Austin Muscutt, Kyle Hopper and Derek Smith scored for the home side, after Jake Morin gave the Spits a 1-0 lead, in the second period. The win gives the Sailors the season series against the Spitfires, four games to one. Both team's power plays combined to go zero for 17. The Elgin rivals also combined for 78 minutes in penalties. The Aylmer Spitfires are a win away from their first appearance in the Yeck final.Three power play goals helped erase an early deficit as the Spitfires edged the Exeter Hawks, 4-3, for a commanding 3-0 leads in their Provincial Junior Hockey League Yeck semi-final.Exeter led 3-1, on a Christian Petrozza goal early second period, before Aylmer scored three unanswered, two from Jake Morin, plus Cody Underhill. The latter two were unassisted power play goals. After the Hawks led 2-0, thanks to Jon Frook and Justin McCarter, Dawson Winchester put the Spits on the board. Spitfire goalie Andrew Harriman-Duke made 46 saves.
