ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas 11U Cardinals are 2-0 after day one of the London District Baseball Association Select A playoffs.

The Cardinals edged London West, 9-8, after mercying Sarnia, 15-5, Friday at the Tarry Complex.
Trailing by one heading into the sixth inning, Cameron Thomson singled in two runs giving the Cardinals the lead and the eventual game winning RBI against London West.
St. Thomas held lead of 2-0, 3-1 and 7-1, before London West scored seven consecutive runs for a 8-7 lead.
Thomson finished with four RBIs. Maverick Shaw and Isaac Richard had two RBIs each. Hardy Buis and Dylan East both had two singles. Harrison Hiepleh drew three walks and scored twice.
Against Sarnia, the Cardinals led 9-0 after three innings for the win in five innings.
Chase Neals drove in four runs and Bryce Giesbrecht, three runs. Buis batted three-for-three, with one RBI. Hiepleh was two-for-two, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored three times.
Dorchester went 0-2 and was eliminated, losing to Sarnia and London West.
In the B playoffs, Dutton opened with a 8-7 win over Lucan-Ilderton, but lost 16-7 to Wyoming.
