LAMBETH, Ont. - Due to weather three teams share the title for the London District Baseball Association 13U Select playoffs.
The St. Thomas Cardinals are one of three teams in be in the first place tie, after finishing the regular season in second place.
Games were cancelled on the Sunday, followed by a final decision on the playoffs.
St. Thomas had no time to relax throughout their games, with three one run victories and a two run loss.
St. Thomas opened the LDBA playoffs edging DKMB, 6-5, in comeback style, scoring twice in the bottom of the eighth inning. Harrison M knocked in the winning run.
The Cardinals led 3-0 early, but DKMB tied the game at four in the seventh and took a 5-4 lead in the top half of the eighth.
Spencer Brear went three-for-three, with two RBI and Jake Dierickse, also was three-for-three.
Down 6-1 early, the Cardinals rallied for a 8-7 win over London West.
A Liam Schenck double gave the Cardinals an 8-6 lead in the fifth inning. Schenck finished two-for-two, with three RBIs. Travis Beecroft drove in two runs. Brear went two-for-two, with two RBIs
The Cardinals dropped game three to Southwest London, 7-5, but Brear continued his hot streak at the plate, with a two-for-two performance. Van Robinson was three-for-three, including a double and Carter Andrews had a two run double.
Early Sunday, the Cardinals avenged the loss, by holding off Southwest London, 9-8. St. Thomas led 9-4, before Southwest scored four times in bottom of the seventh inning.
Dierickse went two-for-three, including a double, with one RBI and stole home plate. Sam Crinklaw also swiped home plate, after a RBI single.
At tournaments, the 13U select Cardinals won gold at Strathroy, silver medals at both the Cardinal Classic and Muskoka Cup and was a semi-finalist at Niagara Falls.
