Stars back sharing first place

ELMIRA, Ont. - It is a return to first place.

The St. Thomas Stars swept a home and home series against the Elmira Sugar Kings thid weekend, to move back in to a share of first place in the GOHL Western Conference.

St. Thomas and the St. Marys Lincolns are both 6-1, with the Stars handing the Lincolns their one loss.

Cole Edmundson scored twice while goalie Dylan Durno made 38 saves, as the Stars shutout the Sugar Kings, 5-0, Sunday in Elmira.

Scoreless after one period, the Stars scored three times in the second period.

Dylan Wilmott, Ryan Beaulieu and Graham Littlejohn, also scored.

Will Burgess had two assists, while Edmundson and Littlejohn also drew helpers, to finish with three point games.

Tyran Lawson picked up an assist and leads the Stars with 10 points, on seven goals and three asissts.

Littlejohn, a 16-year old rookie from Union, has three goals and six assists.

The Stars beat Elmira, 5-1, on home ice October 2.

St. Thomas was in top spot and shared with the Chatham Maroons, while at 5-0. The Maroons are currently 6-1. Komoka is the lone team to defeat the Stars.
