LONDON, Ont. - Lily Ryder from St. Thomas scored twice, including the winner, in the Fanshawe Falcons season opening 3-1 win against in OCAA women's soccer Friday.
Portia Metcalfe of Dorchester, also play on the Falcons.
At Windsor, the St. Clair Saints blanked Redeemer, 5-0, in their season opener. Allie Tales of St. Thomas had two shots on net.
In OCAA women's softball, the St. Clair Saints with Taylor Kana of Springfield, improved to 4-1, beating Durham, 4-1.
Kana is batting .444, with two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Lexie Sawyer from St. Thomas is hitting .467 with four RBIs, for the Fanshawe Falcons.
The Falcons fell to Mohawk, 5-4, Saturday, but Sawyer went two-for-three, with one RBI.
