ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Panthers hosted their third annual Panthers Day, highlighting girls hockey, along with a fundraising and awareness campaign at the Joe October 3.

Games were held throughout the day, starting with U9 and U11 Panthers. The day closed with an exhibition game between the Guelph Gryphons and Western Mustangs, with St. Thomas natives coach Brit Howard and goalie Mya Hepburn.

Panthers teams were wearing new pink jerseys during games for breast cancer awareness. Off the ice, players wore pink t-shirts while enjoying various activities, ranging from creating bracelets and tattoos, to testing their strength and shooting skills.

Donations were accepted in support of the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital mammagraphy unit.
