Nmor leads Lambton women's XC to historic gold
The St. Thomas native finishes seventh at the OCAA cross country championships.

LONDON, Ont. - Cross country success seems to follow Flourish Nmor.
Nmor from St. Thomas, finished seventh in the women's six kilometre race, leading the Lambton Lions women to their first-ever team title, at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) cross country championships, October 31 at Fanshawe Conservation Area.
"I felt really strong and in control throughout the race. I focused on a controlled start and picking people off one by one," Nmor said. "I am also super hyped my teammates also had a good race too, as we are heading to nationals together. We were talking about how it's going to feel like a full-on girls' trip, even with our one guy teammate (Michael Belan) and all-male coaches tagging along."
The graduate of St. Joseph's high school, qualified for OFSAA cross country, the high school championships, in each of her four years, as a member of a Rams team.
"It's quite funny that I didn't join the team until two weeks after it started up, as I didn't plan on joining another cross country team as I wanted to take a break," Nmor said. But I ended up changing my mind because I was bored."
Lambton placed two runners in the top 10, with Nmor in seventh and Abilene Clark, ninth. Teammates Megan Denbak, Emma Munroe, Madison Japp and Caelin Podolinsky, followed in 16th, 20th, 28th and 37th positions.
The top four on each team count towards points.
"I always go into a race believing we can win," said Nmor. "A few of the girls were a little nervous entering the meet, but that's normal for a big race. Although immediately after the race ended and seeing our placements, I was pretty confident that we won."
At St. Joe's with Nmor, the Rams were WOSSAA novice team champs in 2022 and junior champs in 2023. The Rams placed second in both Nmor's senior years, 2024 and 2025.
Nmor improved each year going from 18th as a novice and fifth on the Rams, to sixth and eighth as a senior, number one on the Rams both team. Each year advancing to OFSAA.
At OFSAA, St. Joe's just missed a team medal, placing fourth, both as novices and juniors.
Nmor and the Lions, move on to the Canadian Collegiate (CCAA) championships November 14 in Edmonton.
