
ST. THOMAS - Andrei Gudin had a debut to remember.
The 18-year old from Russia had two goals and two assists in his first game with the St. Thomas Stars, a 6-1 thumping of the London Nationals, Friday, at the Joe.
It was all Stars on this night, building a 3-0 lead by the 15th minute mark of the opening period. Then two more goals while out shooting the Nationals, 23-9, in the second period.
Gudin drew assists on goals by Darcy Dewachter and Will Burgess. Cade Kinnear and Dylan Wilmott, also scored for the Stars.
Sixteen year old Graham Littlejohn from Wallacetown, picked up two assists, leap frogging Tyran Lawson for the Stars scoring lead with 11 points.
St. Thomas improved to 8-1, second in the GOHL Western Conference behind the 9-1 St. Marys Lincolns.
Gudin, from Yekaterinburg, Russia, is a first round pick by the Barrie Colts in the 2025 CHL Import Draft and last season had 11 goals and 21 assists, for the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL.
