MELBOURNE, Ont. - Randy Gray had two single and double and two RBI, while Mitch Roy hit a solo home run, leading the St. Thomas Elgins over the Sebringville Sting, 7-2, at the International Softball Congress (ISC) World Fast Pitch championship Wednesday.
Starting pitcher Ben Hodgins allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits and a walk, while striking out three batters.
Tyler Annett had a double and single.
St. Thomas led 3-0, before the Sting pulled to within a run in the fourth inning. The Elgin secured a win scoring four times in the seventh inning.
The Elgins (3-3 overall) face the Peguis Redmen Thursday morning, on the lower tier of the tournament, known as ISC 2.
