SAGINAW, Mich. - Drew Bate from Union has his first OHL goal.
The 16-year old rookie centerman with the Saginaw Spirit scored on first period power play, during a 5-4 home loss to Flint September 19.
Bate had a goal and two assists in seven preseason games.
Saginaw drafted Bate sixth overall at this year's OHL Priority Draft.
With the London Jr. Knights AAA U16 team last season, Bate had 34 goals and 38 assits in 27 games.
Bate also played three games with the Stars as a 15-year old, scoring once.
