Dolby, Tep-Chhun, Kana, Nolte, shine at collegiate level

ST. THOMAS - Ethan Dolby of St. Thomas rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns, in the Western Mustangs 61-3 rout of host Toronto Blues, in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) football September 19.

The fourth year running back scored on runs of four and six yards.

Dolby is averaging 9.3 yards per carry and has racked up 261 yards and scored three TDs in three games.

At Nipissing University in OUA women's soccer, Bella Nolte of Dorchester scored her fourth goal of the season, as the host Lakers edged Carlton, 4-3.

Annika Nolte picked up an assist and now has 25 goals and 15 assists over her five year OUA career.

At the OUA Fall Kick-off, hosted by Guelph Lakes Golf course, September 11, Jade Tep-Chhun from St. Thomas, tied for fourth on the girls' leaderboard, carding an 80, five shots behind winner Mia Wong.

In the NCAA cross country, Aiden Coles of St. Thomas, with Eastern Kentucky, finished 95th (24:57.01), in the men's eight kilometre race at the McNichols Invitational, hosted by Indiana State, September 19.

After four years at Iona College in New York State, Coles moved to Richmond, Kentucky, for his senior year.

Katelyn MacInnis from Belmont, is a freshman goalie with the Wheeling University women's soccer team, in the NCAA Division 2 Mountain East conference.

MacInnis, a 2026 graduate from East Elgin Secondary, has appeared in two games for the Cardinals, in net for 45 minutes, half of two matches, making seven saves in total.

Wheeling is 0-7 overall.

OCAA

Matt Lindsay of Dorchester, with Fanshawe Falcons men's cross country, won the team title, at the Seneca Invitational meet September 19. Lindsay finished 28th in the race.

Zander Battaglia of St. Thomas with the Fanshawe Falcons men's golf team, tied for 13th (plus-8), at the Niagara Invitational. The Falcons placed third as a team.

Taylor Kana of Springfield, helped the St. Clair Saints women's softball team improve to 8-4, going 3-1 over the weekend.

The sophomore batted two-for-two, took a base on balls, had a RBI and scored twice, in the Saints 7-4 defeat of Durham.

Kana had a single and scored, as the Saints edged Durham, 2-1.

St. Clair split a double-header with Sheridan, winning 9-3 and losing 6-4, September 20.

Kana had a pair of singles and scored twice in the win. Kana batted three-for-four, including a triple, driving in two runs in the loss.

St. Clair host the OCAA women's softball championship, October 22-24.
