18U Cardinals move to 2-1 at LDBA Select playoffs

ST. THOMAS - Whether the St. Thomas Cardinals make the final will have wait at least one more day.

The London District Baseball Association (LDBA) 18U Select semifinals were postponed in the first inning due to rain Sunday.

The teams will look to continue the games Monday.

St. Thomas and the Alvinston Riverhawks are tied at three in bottom half of the first inning, at Emslie Field.

Over at Cardinal Field, Dorchester (3-0) is leading London West (2-1), 3-0, after one inning.

St. Thomas improved to 2-1, downing DKMB (Delaware Komoka Mt Brydges), 12-3, in six innings, Saturday at Emslie.

The Cardinals led 5-2 after one inning and never looked back, adding two runs in both the third and sixth innings and three runs in the fifth.

Felix White was the MVP for the Cardinals, tossing a four hitter over six innings, striking out seven batters, walking six.

White also contributed from the plate, driving in three runs, with a double and one base on balls.

Nate Harrison batted three-for-three, including a double, had three RBIs and scored twice.

Dylan Hawes had single and a pair of walks. Logan Cook walked twice and scored two runs.

On day one of the tournament, St. Thomas dropped their opening game to Dorchester, before beating Southwest, 7-2.
